Secluded hilltop home with stunning views, 5 min walk to the beach

Secluded house set on a ridge top among the pohutukawa trees, overlooking beautiful Waiotahe beach with views from Whale island to Cape runaway. Fantastic place to relax on the deck amongst the native trees and birds. Private road 600 meters down to Waiotahe beach (the road is steep) takes 5 minutes to walk, 2 mins to drive.

Located 30 minutes from Whakatane or 15 minutes drive from Opotiki.
Private road is newly signposted Ataahua Rise off Ohiwa Beach Road. House is up the hill and to the left at the fork 3B Ataahua Rise.

The house is architecturally designed with wooden floors, 5 meter ceiling and opens up completely to provide great indoor- outdoor flow, large decking with breathtaking views. equipped with modern amenities including dishwasher, wifi, oven, washing machine/dryer, outdoor shower, BBQ, kayak, boogie boards, surfboard and outdoor furniture.

Activities in the area include, swimming, fishing, kayaking and surfing, mountain biking , bush walks, golf, diving, horse riding and more.
*** Although there is an open fire with wood and there are heaters provided, the high stud and many windows it can get very chilly during winter months ***

Special conditions:

Families preferred. Deck not suitable for small children. Smoking outside only.

We aim to always have a minimum of one day between guests,

Rain/tank water only so please conserve. Water potable via filtration and UV treatment system.

Supply own linen - duvets/pillows available. No shoes worn inside please.

NOTE: According to kiwi bach tradition you are expected to bring your own linen (towels/sheets etc), and leave the house as you found it. If you would like us to arrange cleaning for you this can be done for NZ$125 per stay. Linen rental can be arranged.

The Ocean was visible from every room except the toilet and laundry. The teen boys loved it and found it relaxing after a busy day on the beach competing for SLSNZ. The kitchen facilities were good and allowed for making nutritious meals to keep the young athletes well fueled. The beds were comfy.

This hilltop home is so beautiful and spacious, we felt relaxed straight away. Its totally private, surrounded by bush with a large living area and deck. It had everything we needed in the kitchen and toys in the carport. Really quiet and peaceful. We didnt use the car for 4 whole days just explored ohiwa and relaxed at the bach! Margo and sandee were super communicative, friendly and helpful. Beds and shower were good. The only downside was the walk up ... i considered it good fitness!

Incredible views, tranquil atmosphere and abundant bird life. Incredibly kind and accomodating hosts. My son was lucky to have spent his first two months at the property while renovations were completed at our home. We spent many hours in the sun drenched living room and enjoyed our first walks together on the beach below.
