MJ's Retreat, Stunning Tongariro crossing accommodation. Private and secure.

After 20yrs of building and running MJ's Retreat we have decided this year to offer a reduced rate.
Our property is ideally located for the Tongariro Crossing, the Whakapapa and Turoa ski fields, Old Coach Road , Bridge to Nowhere, 42nd Traverse , Whanganui canoe trips, and many other walks and mountain bike rides.
The house is situated on 40 000m2 , half in native bush with a stream and pond/swimming hole. It is private and secure with good views of Mt Ruapehu.
The listing is new on this site but is also listed on Air bnb and Holiday houses (MJ's Retreat) Check out the reviews.

Great Vibes

This house is perfect for a large group of friends. We loved the space, BBQ, music collection and peaceful surroundings.

Cheers for staying Sophia. Hope you had a relaxing time. Been a bit hit and miss with the weather. we have updated the bedroom and kitchen lighting, installed an extra layer of insulation in the ceiling and insulation under the floor. Hopefully I can get back to finishing the swimming and beach area. I was really hoping to have this done for summer. Regards Mike

Beautiful home and amenities/activities. Every room had a spacious bed and each bed had electric blankets (wonderful in the winter!). The home is warm and feels welcoming as soon as you step inside. Wouldn't hesitate to book again. The host is very friendly and had the heaters going for us by the time we got there.

Great family stay in Horopito

This is a quiet but spacious and charming house very suitable for a family group or group of friends. We were all very comfortable here. Close to some good walks, golf and good restaurants (and the big vegetables) in Ohakune. A little late learning about access details, but once we made contact with Mike he was extremely friendly and helpful.

A very comfortable house for our group of eight. A lovely rural location not too far from Ohakune. It was very clean and had all we needed for the weekend. Great value for money.
