About this property

Peaceful, relaxing and enjoyable holiday home by the beach

Our 4 bedroom character house can accommodate max 12 people. Awesome utility area with a large deck and the extra full bathroom at back. Another outside shower for a quick rinse. Short walk to the beach, 3 mins drive to the boat ramp and 1 min drive to the town centre. Lots of parking on the property, even for your boat!

We have just had a complete re fit including 4 new 7 zone orthopedic beds with aloe vera enriched fabric. Plush and very comfortable.

The second bedroom has an extra sleeping space with a double bed for kids. There is another double bed in the playroom for extra guests (bedding is not included for this one), you just need to bring your own beddings for the extra guests.

Please bring your own towels as they are not provided.

The host requires you to complete the following before checking out:
Strip any used beds
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights, lock the doors and return the keys
It will be great if you can strip the used fitted sheets, flat sheets and pillowcases off, and leave them on the bedroom floor.
Please wash all used dishes and empty dishwasher and kindly pack away before check out.
If you have used the BBQ please clean it afterwards.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
This is not a party house, no loud music and noise after 10:30pm. Please respect the neighbors. No drugs, No smoking and no excessive drinking .
Before checking out, please clean out after yourselves by washing dishes, taking out the rubbish and leaving the house as how you find it. Thanks

It was good, location was good, plenty of space for our extended family. Only negative I would make is that it is only one bathroom which was fairly tired.

Hi Gary, thanks for the review. There is a second bathroom on the deck which is perfect for a batch especially handy in summer time. We have recently just finished renovating the back deck, the front one will start soon in end of Feb, then we’ll be doing the bathroom, kitchen and repaint of the house. Happy new year!

Such an amazing holiday house in a central location! A typical kiwi batch containing everything you needed.The outdoor BBQ area and the room to play Pool in was an amazing addition. And the fact we all had our own rooms and space for downtime was awesome. Perfect for us and our four tween/teen boys. Communication with the owner was great - really helpful and nothing was an issue. We'd definately recommend to anyone wanting a stay in Pauanui - we'll be back!

Host was welcoming . the barbque we couldn't use as dirty and black unhygienic. The house was roomy kitchen and bathroom could do with up date.Unfortunately the one of the rooms had a leak where water had got in from heavy rain and carpet got all wet as red storm warning. We let owners know.We couldn't do much in bad weather but grateful there was a games cupboard so able to play games . Went to play pool in Garage but pool cues broken and the table was in bad condition so couldn't play pool,beds comfortable not big fat pillows though so exchange them for flat ones in cupboard.

Thanks Margaret for your feedback. We ask all guests to clean the BBQ after using it as we would not know if the guests have used or not. But some guests do not follow our instructions. We’ll put a sign on the deck in the future. We always give a good clean whenever we are there. The house has been scheduled to be renovated this year. The back deck was freshly done in December 2025, we’ll be doing the front deck, bathroom and kitchen soon. The leaking is very new to us as it had never happened before which was mainly caused by the flooding last week. Thank you for informing us. We’ll be doing some work to prevent it from happening again. Regarding the pool table. We left there for guests and It has been damaged over time by guests, which is upsetting for us. We have decided to get rid of. Thank you again for staying with us.

Comfy & cosy!

Overall the accommodation was good and catered to our need with large rooms with comfy & cosy beds. The kitchen was well stocked for 10 people. The furniture was comfortable and hall was spacious. The second toilet is outside and just serviceable. But the inside is great.
