Gorgeous Mountain Home in Highland County, VA
Tucked away in the northwest VA mountains is a very special place - Highland County, VA.  Our house is located in Mill Gap, VA; Less than 1 hour to Snowshoe Ski Resort and 35 min. To the Homestead Resort.  Highland is the least populated county in VA and is known as Virginia's "Little Switzerland".  Monterey, VA is also the home to the Highland County Maple Festival two weekends every March - https://highlandcounty.org/events/maple-festival/
Our 3 bedroom, 2 bath home was built in 2002 and is less than 20 Min. south of Monterey, VA. The amazing, incredibly sunny and relaxing great room has walls faced with chestnut timbers and stone fireplace from our family's original 1800's homestead. Modern kitchen and appliances, and WIFI. HUGE front deck and porch swing. Fish pond/water garden. Incredibly quiet and peaceful, and easily accessible from Charlottesville, VA (2 hours), Washington, DC. (3.75 hours) and less than 1 hour to the Homestead and Snowshoe Resorts. Local activities:
- Nearby hiking, biking and exploring in the Shenandoah and Monongahela Nat'l Forests.

I was born and raised in Virginia and have resided in Charlottesville, VA with my 2 children  for the past 20 years.  I am an avid traveler and love the outdoors, hiking, exploring, any beach, cooking and food.  
Why they chose this property
If you have ever visited Highland County, VA then you understand it is a special place, a hidden gem and an escape from everyday, hectic life.  Our home sits on a little over 1 acre, but is surrounded by hundreds of acres of open and wooded farmland.   The residents of the area are incredibly friendly and welcoming.
