This beautiful downtown home is thoughtfully updated while still preserving its original charm, this spacious residence offers tall ceilings, rich wood details, and timeless finishes.
The home offers welcoming living areas, a fully equipped kitchen, and bright, comfortable bedrooms. Out back, enjoy quality time around the fire pit and endless fun with yard games..
Just steps from local shops, cafes, and parks, and minutes from Portland, OR.

We partner with a trusted local co-host to ensure your questions and needs are taken care of 24/7. We genuinely hope you enjoy your time in this beautiful historic home as much as we’ve enjoyed preserving the memories and character it holds.

Tucked right in the heart of downtown, this home offers unbeatable access to the best of Vancouver—yet still feels like your own private retreat. Step outside and you’re just moments from cozy coffee shops, vibrant cafes, local boutiques, and top-rated restaurants. Just a few blocks away, Esther Short Park—the city’s original downtown hub—hosts a lively year-round weekend Farmer’s Market where you’re bound to find a local gem or two. And don’t miss the nearby Vancouver Waterfront—the city’s new hub—offering stunning river views, exceptional dining, and family-friendly attractions.

Guests have access to the house in its entirety. Nowhere in the house is off-limits. There are detached garages that sit in the back of the house, and those are also accessible to guests.

Step into the home through a charming foyer, where the staircase leads you up to the bedrooms. To the left, a cozy living room flows into the formal dining area and main bathroom, while straight ahead, the spacious kitchen opens to the backyard—perfect for enjoying warm PNW evenings.
Upstairs, you’ll find three inviting bedrooms. One includes a cozy loft ideal for reading, working, or relaxing; open the windows in the evenings to enjoy the cool summer breeze. The second bedroom offers a twin bed and another desk—great for kids or remote work. The primary bedroom in the back connects to a stylish jack-and-jill bathroom featuring a clawfoot soaking tub and double vanity.
Laundry is available downstairs in the basement, easily accessed from the main level.

The area is easy to navigate by personal vehicle, with quick access to major roads and Interstate 5 for travel throughout Vancouver and into Portland. Several C-TRAN bus routes run nearby and connect to transit centers across the city with regional connections.
Rideshare services like Uber and Lyft are also readily available, and Portland International Airport (PDX) is about a 20-minute drive.

The fence line in the backyard does face the street; we have installed privacy screens but there will be noise from people walking/driving by.

There are two garage parking spots available. Street parking is also available—please note there’s a fee Monday through Friday during the day, but it's free in the evenings and on weekends.

The home may include a decibel monitoring sensor to ensure that neighborhood noise levels are respected. NoiseAware is a smart home device that measures decibel levels throughout the property. It allows us to respond to noise nuisances without disrupting your stay. Tampering is prohibited.

This house is a health hazard. First we came in and there was no AC. It was 99 degrees outside and 89 degrees inside. It was not fixed for two days. There were open fixtures, no covers on electrical plates, no lights to go to the basement where the washer was, a front door that had to be body slammed to open, so much more wrong. Garage did not open-we got two codes, neither worked. But the worst was the ANTS and SPIDERS. There were 3 of us that left with spider bites all over. There were ants in the coffee pot, in the shower, all over. And ant poison all open and around. Cabinets were sticky from the poison. We could not eat in the kitchen. One had to go to urgent care. We are all still scratching. There is so much more wrong. This rental should be taken off the market immediately. We are seeking a full refund. VRBO-close this place down.

Thank you for sharing your concerns. We’d like to clarify a few points. On your first day, we offered a cancellation and refund, but we received no response, and your group chose to stay. We only heard about your refund request after checkout. When you reported the thermostat issue the evening of check-in, we sent a technician the next day. While central A/C was never advertised, we added window units and fans to improve comfort. Regarding safety, no exposed hazards exist. All outlets and fixtures meet standards, and no photos of missing covers were provided. The basement has working lights, and we are adding more stair lighting per your feedback. The front door is original solid wood; in summer heat, wood can swell and be harder to open. We apologize for the inconvenience. For the garage, the correct code worked for the single side. The second garage requires advance notice, and we are upgrading both to operate on one system. We have never had reports of bites in years of hosting. Pest control is professional and now more frequent. No open ant poison is left onsite. We take feedback seriously and continue to make improvements, but want to assure future guests that there are no confirmed health hazards at this property.
