Great spot! I had an extended stay here and it was wonderful. Hosts were great and instructions were clear. Really good location too and you can't beat the price. It is a basic basement apartment, but its clean and has everything you need!

Great spot! I had an extended stay here, and it was wonderful. The hosts were great and instructions were clear. Really good location too. Can't beat the price. Pretty basic basement apartment but has everything you need and is very clean!

Pros: The location is easily walkable to downtown Carbondale. The bathroom was nicely tiled. Towels were new and fluffy. The room is actually part of the basement, so it stays cool. The man who lives there is a nice man. He has a dog that will bark, but it's also nice. There were games available.Cons: You have to go through a garage, then down a tight stairwell to get to the unit. It is a basement with only a few small windows so it's dark. The house is right on the main highway 133. At night you will hear road traffic. The mattress is smaller than the bed frame so don't do what I did and whack your shin on it. Suggestions: Please use unscented detergent for the sheets. I am sensitive to highly fragranced fabric softener and detergent. Maybe supply some kind of shade for the patio for sitting outside in the afternoon. It was pretty hot in September.

Sleeper couch unacceptable

It's a dungeon. No stovetop to cook food, and the couch pullout is not acceptable to sleep on due to it being so uncomfortable. The host graciously brought down a wire mattress but it's extremely old and I would not sleep on it. The price was affordable, but we got what we paid for.

We’re sorry the space did not meet your expectations. - The listing clearly states that this is a basement apartment with a kitchenette, which does not include a stovetop. We do our best to accurately describe the space and amenities so guests can determine if it’s the right fit for their needs. - The pull-out sofa is designed primarily for children or one adult. When comfort concerns were mentioned, we promptly provided an additional mattress to add extra support. We apologize if there was any misunderstanding about how it was intended to be used. Our goal is to offer a clean, affordable stay, and we respond quickly when guests need assistance. We appreciate the feedback and will continue looking for ways to improve the comfort of the sofa bed for future guests.”
