The Sands at Sandy Point
Kitchen The large open plan kitchen is perfect for entertaining or trying out a new favourite recipe. Modern appliances include a large oven, 4 burner electric stove, coffee machine, full fridge, wine fridge and separate freezer, dishwasher, toaster, kettle, sandwich press. The kitchen is stocked with basics, oils, spices, sharp knives, and many utensils. Water is safe to drink from the tap. Two sky lights keep the kitchen light and sunny Kitchen island with 4 stools
Lounge Area The large open plan lounge has a high cathedral ceiling, is flooded with natural light and has both a large couch with chaise and a super large daybed with cushions. The extended daybed is perfect for relaxing and enjoying the afternoon sun all year round, but especially in winter in front of the large fireplace. Fast wifi with 50mbps download speed, and unlimited data A Sony Bluetooth Speaker is available to play all your tunes. TV for watching the footy or your favourite movie. Log into or cast your Netflix or other Streaming service to binge your favourite series. Large central inbuilt Coonara style fireplace - firelighters & newspaper is provided, please bring firewood. Heating and cooling via reverse split aircon and fireplace Enjoy the bookshelves filled with adult and children's books Family holiday board games
Dining Area The dining area is a part of the large living area. Share a meal on our 8-seater dining table by the sliding doors to the deck. Large fly wire doors are wonderful on warm nights.
Outdoor deck Large sliding doors open out onto a roomy enclosed deck, where a BBQ and 8 person outdoor setting waits for you to enjoy a BBQ after a day at the beach or cheese platter and wine. Relax for a few hours on the double beanbag. Turn on the night lights on a balmy night.
Bedroom 1 (Master Bedroom) Have a restful night's sleep in a comfy queen-sized bed (Sleeping Duck Mattress) with ensuite and built in robes. Room includes wall mounted TV. Bedding, including doonas and pillows for all beds is provided, but all guests will need to provide their own linen (sheets, covers and pillow cases) plus towels and tea towels.

Bedroom 3 Includes a bunk bed with a comfortable queen bed down below and a king single on top. Room also includes a single bed and draws.

You have use of the entire house and yard. Guest access information will be provided the day of your arrival via email. This will include details on how to locate the property, where to locate the key safe, and the key safe combination to access the keys.
- Neighbourhood
Situated approximately 2.5 hours from Melbourne and approximately 40 mins to Wilsons Promontory. The property is located close to the main beach for swimming, surfing and fishing. Waratah Bay Surf Lifesaving Club patrols the beach over summer; they also have a bar, occasional meals and events. Launch your boat at Shallow Inlet, just a short 5 minute drive. It's famous for wind surfing, kite surfing and fishing. The Sandy Point General store is the hub for groceries, bait, petrol, gas, bottle shop and an Australia Post outlet. A small Mini golf course is located next to our office on Beach Parade (seasonal). Playgrounds, Tennis courts (equipment can be hired from the General Store), Half basketball court & public bbq areas are located next to the Sandy Point Community Centre. The Sandy Point Community Centre hosts art festivals, markets & other events over summer.
Sandy Point is a great base for exploring the local region. With Wilsons Promontory a short drive away, you can enjoy a range of short and long hikes that include breath taking beaches, rivers and wildlife encounters. The historic towns of Fish Creek, Walkerville, Foster, Toora and Meeniyan are an easy drive away, offering outstanding local produce, art galleries, cafes, restaurants and wineries. Also in easy reach is the historic Cape Liptrap Lighthouse and Walkerville Lime Kilns at the famous Magic Beach, Walkerville South. The Great Southern Rail Trail (131kms) runs from Nyora to Yarram and can be accessed at Fish Creek, it's ideal for biking or walking.
- Getting Around
Sandy Point is a lovely Village to stroll around, however getting beyond this you will need your own car.
- Other things to note
Due to the closure of the Gippsland Power Stations, during peak times (i.e. the middle of summer) we are prone to power blackouts. Mobile phone coverage can also be poor, travellers are advised to use Telstra for the best coverage in our area. This is unfortunately completely out of our control. Each property in Sandy Point is on tank water and septic systems.
