While the decor is pretty "no frills" the comforts of home are good. Comfy beds, hot shower, coffee & tea available, and kitchen spices too. The location was perfect for us, a quiet neighborhood close to the coast in both directions making for excellent sunset walks. We traveled without a car and could access everything we wanted either just walking, sometimes taking the bus too. In fact just blocks away from the house we caught a bus that took us to Bushart Gardens, a must see.

We loved the location! The house is so close to everything and made our weekend so easy to get around and do all the fun activities within Victoria. The neighborhood is quiet and feels very safe. The store across the street was a big help when we needed something. We would definitely stay here again!

The location was fantastic and the neighbourhood was lovely. The beds are comfy and the cottage had lots of cute elements. The bathroom needs a little update but functional. Check in was easy and the hosts were very easy to connect with. Overall was pretty good.

A cozy and quiet spot, very comfortable. Well set up, and the location was wonderful--very close to Fisherman's Wharf and downtown, with stores and restaurants all within easy reach. The host was great to deal with. We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.

This place was spotless! The location was fantastic, too. An easy walk to all the major downtown sights: ferries, museums, shopping, and docks for whalewatching.

This is in a great location. Amazing and a very quick effortless walk to the Wharf. Quite walkable to the inner harbour, downtown. I can’t say enough. We found the price somewhat high for the accommodations. The property is quite old, which is understandable. However, it could stand to have a refresh.Host was fantastic and accommodating.

Thank you for your kind words! We’re so glad you enjoyed the location and your stay. It’s been a very busy summer with back-to-back bookings, but we have a little shutdown coming up to tackle some planned renovations and freshening up. 😊 In the meantime, we take great pride in a thorough clean between every guest — that’s always a priority for us. Thanks again for staying with us!

Unbelievable location - close to everything. Property was clean and kitchen well equipped. Beds were comfortable. Key was a little hard to use (lots of jiggling). Would be perfect with keyless entry.

Excellent location. We didn’t have to drive at all while there. The beds were good. The house was certainly vintage but more like old and run down. The wood stove that is not useable was in the way and posed a significant tripping hazard. Luggage racks would have been nice as there was no where but the living room sofa to put our open suitcases. The bathroom is very small and the moldy caulking around the tub was off putting. We were grateful to be so close to all the attractions we were interested in. The fish and chips 1/2 block away at the wharf was awesome ! The restaurant down and across the street was incredible! The little store across the street was super handy. So, although we called it our little hovel, we were happy enough there because of its perfect location.

Thank you for your feedback! We’re delighted you enjoyed the fantastic location and all the wonderful amenities just steps away. Our little vintage cottage certainly has its quirks, and we have renovations and updates planned during our upcoming off-season break, including improvements to the bathroom. We appreciate your suggestions and are glad the cottage served as a convenient home base for your Victoria visit!

Good little house in an ideal location close to Fisherman’s Wharf. We could easily walk to the downtown area and there is a little grocery store across the street so it was perfect. The host responded to all questions promptly. We could have used more than one tea towel and would have appreciated more bath towels but that’s minor. We really enjoyed our stay.

Very responsive host to inquiries both before and during stay. Accommodating for our pet's stay to make ours more enjoyable and let us take full advantage of our plans. Easy check-in and -out, as well as very clean home. Terrific location near Fisherman's Wharf for local walking and theatres and store across the street handy for a couple of needed items. Quiet and calm neighbourhood. Happy to return again for another stay in future.

This charming little house is in the most brilliant location imaginable. There's even a cute little store right across the street for any little items you may need (this was amazingly handy to be able to walk directly across the street to).The house was sparkling clean, and had everything we needed. Super easy check in and out. Very communicative and friendly hosts who were helpful and responsive but not intrusive.Wouldn't change a thing. It was perfect.

Fabulous walking proximity to fisherman’s wharf. Walking proximity to the Royal BC Museum and downtown restaurants is good. Well appointed kitchen. Beds were comfortable. Couch was comfortable. With the exception of the washroom, the house was clean. Floor fans helped deal with the heat. Pile of junk mail sitting on entrance table. Major toe stubbing metal plate in the living room under the decommissioned wood stove. Partially blocked bathroom sink.Tub surround very stained with dirty crevices and an old bar of soap in it. Shower curtain a dirty orange at bottom. It was hot and because this home does not have air conditioning, we needed to open the windows. But most of the opening windows do not have screens. All opening windows should have screens, even on Vancouver Island, for air flow and to keep out flying insects as well as rats. Deck in very poor shape. Old crumbling turtle fountain sitting on a deck table. Faded Water-stained cat print on outer wall on deck. Deck cushions do not fit deck chairs. House and yard look unloved.

Thank you for taking the time to provide such detailed feedback. We’re pleased to hear you enjoyed the location, found the beds and couch comfortable, appreciated the well-appointed kitchen, and enjoyed being within easy walking distance of Fisherman’s Wharf, the Royal BC Museum, downtown, and local restaurants. We appreciate your comments regarding the cleanliness of the bathroom and will address those items with our cleaning team to ensure they meet our standards. Our home is intentionally presented as a vintage character home, and our listing photos accurately reflect its style. Many of the original features and unique touches—including the vintage cat artwork and other character elements—have been deliberately retained as part of the home’s history and charm. Regarding the garden, we do have a gardener who maintains the property. However, during the summer months we are subject to municipal watering restrictions, which can affect how lush the landscaping appears. We would also like to clarify that while some windows do not have screens, we have never had issues with rats entering the home. This comment appears to have been a concern rather than something experienced during the stay. We appreciate all guest feedback, as it helps us continue improving the guest experience while preserving the unique character of our home. Thank you again for your stay, and we wish you all the best.

This house was so well appointed - perfect for exploring the city! No need for a car which was so nice for us. We enjoyed the walk downtown every time. The kitchen has everything you need and with the weather being so nice when we were there we could enjoy the back deck and barbecue. I wouldn’t think twice about about renting here again!
