About this property
Grade 2* listed 6 Bedroom Manor House, Derbyshire Dales.
The Manor House, in the quaint village of Marston Montgomery, is a remarkable holiday home and Grade II* listed residence. New to VRBO/BookaBach this year, the house provides luxury holiday accommodation for up to 12 adults with 4 children.
The three-floor building is full of original character, both inside and out. It offers an ideal base for a group holiday in the Peak District. The Crown Inn, a local pub, serving high quality traditional British food and ales is just over the road.
The history of The Manor House stretches back more than three centuries. Built in the late 1600s, during the Restoration of King Charles II, its distinctive timber-framed architecture, carved oak panelling, and grand 17th-century fireplace evoke the craftsmanship and optimism of post-Civil-War England.
Within striking distance of the house are:
Dovedale, known for the River Dove, it’s impressive limestone ravines and its picturesque stepping stones.
The Peak District and its many outdoor attractions (find out more at visitpeakdistrict.com or peakdistrictonline.co.uk).
Alton Towers - the UK's largest rollercoaster theme park and sister waterpark.
Dimmingsdale valley, providing nearby forest and riverside walks.
The historic Trentham Estate & Trentham Monkey forest.
The historic Chatsworth Estate.
Cycling and walking trails including Carsington Water and the Tissington Trail.
The historic towns of Bakewell, Leek and Buxton.
The cities of Derby, Stoke, Ashbourne and Uttoxeter.
