About the host
Hosted by Mark Fleming
Rachel and Mark were able to spot the potential and see past the challenges of converting a former office building into the welcoming luxury self-catering holiday house that it is today. They didn’t want it to be just another holiday let, filled with cheap furniture for a quick turnaround with no character. So, using their previous experience in delivering a unique holiday experience, as owners of two other guest and self-catering holidays houses in the area, they set about bringing Agricola to life.
Why they chose this property
Agricola house is a unique self-catering holiday let sleeping up to 14 and perfect for a large group wanting to enjoy the spectacular walking and cycling opportunities of Derbyshire and the Peak District. Agricola is located right in the heart of the historic small Derbyshire town of Wirksworth which has an independent cinema and boutique shops to explore. Real ale and wine bars, restaurants as well as historic English pubs are only 5 minutes’ walk away.
No need to take a car out as there is plenty to do right on your doorstep. Agricola has ample space to relax in. The group can enjoy a movie in our cinema lounge, do some yoga stretches in the open plan living areas or try unwinding in the wellness sauna. There is cycle storage for up to 10 bikes plus an accessible outside tap in the private courtyard at the back of Agricola House within the parking area. The house has great Wi-Fi and mobile signal with ample parking for up to 10 cars.
