We stayed for three weeks in July, and this was the perfect base for exploring the area. The cottage is charming - tastefully decorated, spacious and clean. It is in an excellent location - quiet but only a short distance from the centre of town. The kitchen is very well-equipped (we did a fair bit of cooking, so that really helped), as is the rest of the cottage.
We also enjoyed Chatillon as a location, both for the shops, cafes and events in town, and for easy access to a wide range of attractions within an easy drive. Coming from Scotland, we also had the surprise bonus of a Franco-Scottish festival at nearby Aubigny-sur-Nere.
Maria is a very thoughtful and thorough host. She provided us with a really helpful guide to attractions in the area before we arrived, and was quick to help while we were there. Thank you, Maria, for helping us have a wonderful holiday.

The check in process was very easy and Marie was an excellent communicator.
Private Parking inside the gate was possible which made it very easy unloading heavy suitcases.
We happened to be at the house during a cold snap but the house was very well heated even with floor heating (!) and wood was available for the fireplace for some extra coziness.
Upon welcome some little treats like chocolates and cakes were presented to us in the kitchen.
The bathroom was very comfortable and had a separate shower and bath.
My mum has extremely bad knees so she had to climb and descend the staircase slowly, but it was possible. The staircase was fine for everyone else.
The house is situated in a beautiful part of the old village.
We were extremely happy to stay here and it was hard to leave.
Restaurant tip:
La Chaumiere in Aubigny sur Nère has exquisite food and has received Michelin awards.
It is also worth driving down to the lock at the Loire river. A very pretty spot.
