This home is everything you could want for a lake holiday. Well stocked kitchen, very clean. Lots of screened windows, the house stays very cool, central AC is great when needed. A few stairs down to a beautiful partly shaded beach. The hosts live immediately next door, the yards are connected and the beach and dock are shared. Not a totally private stay with solitude if this is what you are looking for. The hosts are so kind, welcoming and helpful. The home is off the main highway on a small lane, making it quiet. Uneven paths and stairs might be challenging for some. The location near town is very convenient

Great private spot with so many things to do. We’ve stayed out here a couple times in the summer and have never been disappointed! The hosts were very welcoming and friendly, the beach was large with lots of games and activities to do. The house was very clean and the hosts even left a little care package for us. All in all a great experience and would definitely recommend.

We had an exceptional stay at this rental property. The location was phenomenal, with easy lake access and beautiful surroundings, all at a very reasonable price. The house itself was incredibly cozy, comfortable, and thoughtfully equipped. It was very well stocked with everything we needed, making it easy to prepare meals and enjoy a relaxing evening in. It truly felt like a home away from home. Our hosts were incredibly friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived. They took the time to show us how everything worked, where everything was located, and provided excellent recommendations for local restaurants and activities to help us make the most of our stay. While the weather wasn’t ideal during our visit, we still enjoyed starting our mornings with a refreshing cold dunk in the lake. The lake access was fantastic and definitely one of the highlights of the property.Overall, this was a wonderful experience, and we would gladly stay here again. Between the cozy accommodations, attentive hosts, and beautiful location, we couldn’t have asked for a better getaway. Highly recommended!

This group were pleasant and respectful. We usually have nice weather but it did not show up when you were here. We would love to have them again in sunny weather so they could get more fun out of a lakefront cottage.

Final draft - thoughts:We had a wonderful stay! The cottage was exceptionally clean, thoughtfully designed, and had such a cozy, charming feel. One of the best features was how close it was to the beach—it was so easy to enjoy the shoreline whenever we wanted. You could tell this property was a long time family property that is loved and cherished. Lovely special touches when we checked in too - fresh buns, a bottle of wine, coffee beans! There has been a lot of thought put into the experience. It was also clear that the hosts are in their first year of welcoming guests to their private family cottage. They genuinely care about both their property and their guests, and their pride in the cottage really shows. One area for improvement needed is privacy and respecting the space we rented includes the inside and outside. The cottage is next door to the owners cottage and the hosts are very attentive. At times, it felt as though we were being monitored while they attended to our yard space during our lunches and dinners eating out on the deck which made it difficult to fully relax and enjoy the space as privately as we had expected. The hosts were always polite and respectful, but a little more separation and privacy would make the experience even better.Overall, it's a lovely, clean, and charming cottage in a fantastic location close to the beach, and we enjoyed our stay.

I am sorry that the ladies felt that we were checking up on them. It was a hot few days and we had to water the garden, often both in the morning and evening as watering during the heat of the day does not adequately hydrate the garden. Usually, you can find a time when a family is not around. However, with 5 ladies from different families, there always seemed to be someone present in the garden areas. One evening, my daughter was at the back watching her young children play. She had seen someone BBQing some time before. When I came outside she mentioned that she could see a bit of a haze which she thought could be gas leaking out, and said she thought they could have forgotten to turn it off. She said it had been over 15 minutes since they being back there. I went over to check it and it was still running. I was going to turn it off but thought that I best check first as there might have been a reason for leaving the BBQ on. I contacted the ladies and asked them. One of the ladies said she was leaving it on to clean the BBQ and was going out to do that right away. Likely this coincident make them feel too “observed” but it certainly was not done intentionally.

About the host

My husband and I live in the cottage next door. Our family has have been stewards of these cottages for 70 years. Each generation the children have learned to swim during their summer holidays.
Though we have updated every room, it still retains the
"feel" of our family cabin.
We are available if you have any problems. Come over for a visit or if you need suggestions of interesting things to do or places to see while you are in our beautiful area.

Why they chose this property

Our neighbourhood has only seven lake side cottages and we enjoy a serene life at the lake. Several of the properties on this lane, have some of the nicest beaches on Christina Lake, and ours is one of those. All members of our neighbourhood love to live here. Our newest neighbours have been here for 25 years. Most people have been here for generations. It is paradise so people do not often move away!

What makes this property unique

Our cabin has seen four generations of our family grow up on the lake. We think it is a wonderful place to be together with family or friends, making special memories. It provides the best of what a Canadian summer can offer.

Each summer Christina Lake hosts The Big Swim that takes place in August. This event raises money for divergent youth to learn to swim. Your hosts take part by spotting athletes as they compete in this event.

In the spring, the Christina Lake Pickle Ball Club host a popular tournament where people come from near and far.

Homecoming typically takes place the second weekend in July and has a lot of fun for everyone all weekend long.

Come and see what makes Christina Lake such a great place to live and to visit.
