The property was very clean. The descriptions of the property was exactly the way it looks. The back deck overlooking the battleground park was absolutely delightful. It was very relaxing and felt like you were away from everything although you are very close to everything! The host always got back to me with any of my questions very quickly. We would definitely rent it again!

4/10 Poor

Left a lot to be desired

The listing says 'within walking distance' of Lake George attractions. While the distance is short, it is not at all walkable, especially with two small children. Fort George Road is not a walkable road by any means. There were also some concerns with the space. The first floor bathroom did not have a latch on the door to close it, and the electricity was not working. There were two small battery powered lights in the bathroom. The outside space had potential, but were were displeased with the cleanliness of the backyard. The deck desperately needed to be cleaned. The space in the back was covered in leaves and sticks and looks like it had not been cleared for some time. The house also was not cleaned. We noticed a lot of cobwebs and bugs throughout the house. There was also food that we bought and brought into the house that was covered in ants the next day while it was left in the pantry overnight. The kitchen was also not adequately stocked. Lids did not match pots and pans, kitchen utensils while trying to cook were lackluster. Paper towels and toilet paper were provided, but the house had no tissues and napkins.Host was very quick to help when there was a plumping issue in the house.

Backing up to the state park was incredible. It’s just a short walk down to million dollar beach and the waterfront area. We really enjoyed our time here.

The house is the last one on a small private lane, so no through traffic. Stepping over the back fence takes you into Fort George State Park, full of majestic trees, and many reminders of the French/Indian/British Colonial/Revolutionary wars. This area was one of the most fought over, and historical artifacts are everywhere. Walking through the park brings you right onto the beach and the lake. The house is very spacious and comfortable. It was spotless. There are sitting areas in the living room, in the sunroom at the front and in the huge main bedroom. A smaller bedroom has bunk beds, ideal for kids. Two showers and washrooms, one upstairs and one down. A TV in each of the three sitting areas. Large dining table in the living room and a smaller one in the kitchen. The kitchen has all necessary appliances, utensils, pans etc. and allows full meals to be cooked. It is hard to convey the sense of peace that comes from sitting on the back deck, seeing the sun slant down through the trees, and hearing the birdsong. All communications were promptly answered. The check in instructions and welcome info were clear and helpful. I really enjoyed the stay.
