Host are very acomidating. House was clean. They supplied everything you need for your stay, just bring your own food. Price was very reasonably, less then the local motels, with 3 times the space. It's an older small town house, not fancy but very comfortable. We will definatly contact them for our next ATV trip to tweed

The property was great for our stay. We had things to do in Picton & in Napanee, so this was a perfect launch pad for those activities.
The place is comfortable and perfectly hospitable. The host and communication were great.
I just found the little corner where the house is and the surroundings a little depressing. A sad little corner that has seen better days.
Excellent communication. Everything very clean. Would not recommend if you have accessibility needs.

Nice
It was a little musty when we first arrived but opened everything up and cleared up in no time. Quiet as both neighbouring properties were being renovated. There was an obviously half blind and homeless cat hanging around ( because all the birds) felt bad for him fed him. It was private and quiet no one bothered us overall enjoyed our stay
Cabin well cared for and clean 👍However misinformed on my peace & quiet cabin request, also the beach photo in old ad was to be our 1st day trip. So to find out it was a private beach after driving to location very dissapointing. Traffic flow past the house more often then not. Also traffic coming down the hill past house goes by very fast day & night. For anyone with little ones just an fyi..
Photos have been added and 1 taken down (my request)since my stay.
So you now can see see the whole place.
Their is a group home next door for Autistic Adults, the only reason I know this is because one of the employees introduced himself to me day 2 to advise that we may hear banging or screaming. Which we had heard the night before but could not understand. Now we do.
The traffic was worse, Also another fyi any conservation sites listed in this ad for nearby attractions. Please make sure you purchase a permit prior to going We drove a extra hr and a bit 1 way to be turned away from the 1st conservation site in his list, because we didn't know about this permit purchase. Would have been great to see that information in his ad. If your simply looking for Peace & quiet this is not the place to stay
I only had a 3 day holiday.
Very dissapointing.
The house was very clean and very nice bedding but the floors were sloped and the whole house seemed to be crooked. Otherwise everything was wonderful. The hosts were very prompt responding to emails and extra towels and things were all in place. Very clean!
The little house has everything you need, no worries if you forget to bring something other than your food, personal belongings or stuff, which demonstrates the owners’ consideration and care to provide convenience to guests travelling from far away. Bonus is that you can watch through big kitchen window birds feeding and bathing while having food or drink at the kitchen counter. I saw around 5-6 different kinds of birds visiting. There may be more if you watch longer. And you can lit bonfire in the backyard in the evening. And you will see many aged but purposely preserved stuff in and outside of the house, witnessing a rich heritage and family history shared to all the honoured guests with abundant hospitality offered by the Brown’s. Certain parts of the property will definitely make you experience a great sense of history and a break away from the modern life (a life style within the span of last 10 to 20 years). In general it is a combination of city and countryside, modern and ancient, convenience and leisure.. Of course the owner couple are so easy to communicate, so ready to help. We didn’t have a chance to meet them in person, but limited times of e communications showed they were responsive, clear, polite, caring and welcoming. I am sure they would effectively solve all my requests or inquiry with any property or utensils concerns. We had no such issues during our stays though. They trust you in every aspect while you stay. Feel staying at your own home, use everything you need as you wish at all your freedom (but not in abusive manner, this we all know as responsible adults). Thank you, Jim and Rebecca for sharing your memory and family heritage, ease and convenience to travellers. We hope to visit your little historical home in the future. (Sorry, I am trying to write some clear daily English but find myself not competent at it)
We had a lovely weekend at this property and visiting local artists and restaurants in the area.

Work in progress
Probably the poorest property that I have booked through VRBO.
An attempt at renovating has been made but poor material choice and exceptionally poor workmanship makes a very poor impression.

I think we all watch Hells Kitchen and You got Talent, some of us enjoy them and some aspire to be a Simon!
In this STR business, We Aspire to give our guests, as advertised - “A little Taste of Country”, not the Ottawa Carlton nor Royal York, with marble floors and maids (great, but not what we offer).
A little taste of country is about: An old country home with exposed beams inside, birds, butterflies and bees, outside with a hobby farm next door providing pigs, chickens and a rooster or two.
This is what we advertise.
Cheers, Aunt Becky's Birdhouse.
Thanks again Renny, it was wonderful meeting you and thanks for leaving our place a clean as Aunt Becky love it :)
Thanks also for the gifts you left us. Greatly appreciated. Hope to see you again. R/J.
This house is in progress, there is some renovations going on that might incomodate some people. We were not. Jim told us all about the little house by the hill, and I couldn't possibly think of a more helping and friendly owner. If you're used to perfects hotels, it is maybe not what you're looking for, but if you can deal with some imperfections, than you will have a great time in this spot for a very reasonably price and not very far from where you want to go.
We are Jimmy and Rebecca. We were married in 2019 and own a gardening business together. Between gardening and renovating, we are a busy couple. Jimmy is a soccer coach of over 25 years and owns a custom soccer store. Our blended family includes 3 teens and 4 adult children and 1 new baby! We are excited to welcome you to our historic village of Thomasburg and our humble country home!
