Perfect Family retreat! mins to Canaan and Timberline ski resorts. This Charming Mountain Tree house with 5BR ( 1 room is a loft) sleeps up to 12 people. The loft ( 4th level) has all glass windows with a nice view , can be use as another bedroom or a lounge. Open Living and kitchen area w/ floor to ceiling stone fireplace (lots of natural lights) and large deck with a hot tub and dining table, all in gorgeous setting. 3 BR on the first floor door open to the deck, very private.
This cozy home will take your family to some wonderful adventures : skiing (Timberline and Canaan Valley), WiFi, fire pit, hey google, swimming at the waterfalls/ Rivers, amazing hike to some breathtaking overlook, mountain bike, horseback riding, dolly sods wilderness, fishing, explore the beautiful town of Davis and Thomas, Zip line and Rock climbing, kayaking, water tubing, white water rafting, and it’s a 4 season destination to WV wild and wonderful! This is the perfect family destination!

We rented out this cabin for a nice relaxing weekend away with my friends and family. It was super cozy and comfortably fit the nine of us who stayed. The host was also very friendly and easy to get ahold of. I loved every second of being here and I would definitely recommend to everyone who will listen!

Great place

My family and I had a wonderful time at the tree house! Grace was super helpful and communicated with a quick response for anything we needed, places to go, etc. Location was central to all the good spots to visit in WV. The house its self felt very private even though there were houses all around, your covered by trees and wild plants. House was very clean and decorated tastefully. We had 8 of us and there was plenty of room for everyone to have their own space. We will definitely be visiting again.

Awesome location

Loved staying at this property - perfect for our two families with 4 adults, 6 kids and our dog. Nice patio to relax on in the evening, cozy living room space, we cooked in several meals. Close to a cute little town with good food/live music/ice cream and then all the hiking you could want. And the host was incredibly responsive.

Great place and host

Great place and very responsive host. There was a neighborhood-wide power outage when we arrived, and the host responded immediately and through the evening with updates until it came back on. I gave 5 stars overall, but 3 for location. Luckily, everyone in our party had 4 Wheel Drive and had no issues, but if your group did not have that and came for a wintry weekend, you may have issues on a very steep gravel driveway. Actual location/proximity to things was wonderful though.The location was just as pictured, close to two ski resorts and shops/restaurants, wonderful hot tub plenty of space. We had a great weekend!

Family Time

Great place, the multiple levels keep kids at a distance while adults enjoy the main level views and Fireplace. Each couple claimed one of the four full bathrooms for their convenience. Thanks for the stay.

Fun for a 30th !

Stayed here in the spring for my husbands 30th and it was amazing! Davis is a cute little town but has a ton to do! We hiked, drank at the local breweries and then winded down in the hot tub! Beautiful views and lots of room.

Great week!

Beautiful house and very clean! We were there for a family vacation and ranged in age from 4-73. Great room downstairs for 3 young boys with parents in the room next door. We were glad they had their own TV in their rooms since ours was open to the main floor TV. It was a wonderful location for fishing, hiking and visiting the stores in Davis and Thomas. Very peaceful sitting on the deck.

An enjoyable stay

We had a very enjoyable 4 night stay at the treehouse. The home is in a unique development and very private. Grace responded quickly to an issue with the hot tub. There were plenty of activities in the area to satisfy everyone in our group.

We enjoyed our stay at The Tree House. The house worked well for our group. There were plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for everyone. The location was close to town and to the ski resorts. 4WD is definitely needed to get to the property.

Beautiful and Restful Experience

Beautiful Location

We loved the location here. Be aware that not all the bedrooms are private, something we wished we had known as a family of all adults. You have to walk through one of the queen rooms to get to the bunk room unless you go outside and up the steps. The master bedroom has an open wall to the main floor downstairs. Also all bedrooms require using the stairs. Something to be aware of when your booking includes elderly guests. This place is cozy and inviting.

Great home in a great place

Amazing location and wonderful cabin. So much to do and a perfect base to do it from. The cabin has all that we needed and Grace was exceptional with her communication and suggestions and overall care. What a great time we had hiking and hanging out on our October trip. Trees were in full color and the area is amazing. Davis was a neat little town to visit and everyone was very friendly. We will be back and hope to be able to rent this cabin again!

Family vacation

The home worked well for our 3 generation family of 11; loft worked well for two young men and the downstairs bedroom for our girls. And 3 bedrooms for the couples. The bedrooms all require steps, which could be important if anyone has a problem with steps. The housekeeping does a great job, the home was spotless.

Great House with one caveat...

We loved our time in this house, lots of positives, amazing views, owner is very responsive. The only thing we can say is that since they do allow pets, it could use a better deep clean between stays. We had issues with people with dog allergies that were having allergy problems throughout the stay.

Treehouse Sept-Oct '23

The original house that we rented had water issues within a couple of hours of our arrival. We had no water! Grace Kimball was on top of the issues as soon as I contacted her. She was able to move us to another property the next morning and we were very grateful. It turned out to be a good fit for us and enjoyed our stay. Grace was very good in resolving the issue.

The Tree House was Beautiful! Completely accommodating for are family of 8.

Our group had an amazing time! We had 5 adults and 3 children, completely enough room to spread out in the Tree House. Every morning drinking coffee on the lower level deck I had a Mama Doe and her 2 twins come out from under house and eat leaves within feet from me. The Blackwater Falls are breathtaking! The Dolly Sods was Beautiful, the drive up there was a little intense! Grace was a superb host! Sent all the must sees. Grace responded within minutes to are questions! We drove to Morgantown to do some shopping and found the best bar/restaurant ( lil hole in the wall ) called Mario’s Fish Bowl, great atmosphere, great service and Yuengling on tap.. All in all a great family vacation!

Cozy & spacious

This VRBO was perfect for our group of 11 (three families, each with teenagers). We chose a rental in part based on the location: it's just 10 minutes from Davis and Thomas, which means quick runs to the grocery store and coffee shop, but also very close to trails on the west and south side of Dolly Sods. The cabin was built in the mid-90s and accordingly has a lived-in feel, but it's well maintained and comfortable. Our favorite space by far was the living room. It has walls and walls of windows, which give off fabulous light in the afternoon and an A+ view of sunrise at dawn. There's a great wood burning fireplace, a huge TV, and plenty of comfortable seating for everyone, plus you're right off the kitchen and dining room. We also enjoyed the hot tub several times! Perfect for warming up when it's 45-50 degrees outside! Bedrooms and bathrooms were more than adequate to suit everyone's needs, no complaints there. For anyone contemplating using the loft as a bedroom, it's helpful to know the futons are very hard (as futons tend to be), so maybe don't put a guest up there who prefers a soft cushy bed. Best suited for kids, or just keep it as a hangout space. Lastly, a big thanks to Grace and her husband for graciously hosting us. She was always accessible by text or phone throughout our stay to answer questions that came up. We hope to return sometime in the future, maybe next time in the spring when everything is blooming!

The location was easy to find, access was straightforward to the neighborhood and the house, and the location was convenient for day hikes. The place was roomy and the views from the living area were beautiful w/o the leaves. Check in and out was a breeze. The clarity of listing improved IN THE LAST FEW DAYS. Be sure you take careful note of the dog policy. The cleanliness and repair of the house did not meet our expectations. For example, the kitchen shelves were dirty, downstairs BR walls and rug were filthy, some decor were dusty and even greasy, there was evidence of water damage on the ceiling/walls and mold on upper BR floor. The king and queen beds were not very comfortable. This is consistent with general inside and outside upkeep of the property. Future renters: There is a small, well used grill-no charcoal; there is no place to hang clothes in the BRs - closets are locked save one; kitchen has limited spices/everyday items (eg no coffee, filters, oil, salt, sugar, wrap, etc); the surveillance camera at the entrance is especially creepy; limited TP-1 small roll of PT-1 trash bag. Amended listing NOW shows only “starter” amounts provided. Other than bar/dish soap bring ALL other personal products. There are many similar cute, and spacious houses in this area. The condition of this property and the interaction with this PM did not make us feel especially welcomed. Having experienced many VRBO and other rentals, I would not choose to stay at this home again.

Perfect Location for an Incredible Vacation!

Our family of 7 (kids are 16, 13, 12, 11, and 8) travel to a different state each time we take a vacation. With COVID still lingering, we thought a vacation in the woods seemed like a perfect idea! First, we knew nothing about West Virginia. I had always heard how beautiful it was, but didn't know anything about specific places to see. When I first looked at this cabin, I noticed how many things there were to do and see in the area. We stayed 5 nights and only had time for a fraction of the places that we would have liked to see! Everything is SO close to this cabin and I can't stress enough how perfect of a location it is in. There is even a grocery store and Dollar General a few minutes away that carry anything you would ever need on this trip! As for the cabin itself, it was HUGE!! There are 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths on the bottom floor. One bedroom has two twin over full beds where 2 of our boys slept. The two girls slept in a bedroom with a queen bed, and our oldest slept in a room with 2 twin beds. My husband and I slept in the loft room which included another full bathroom! The main level (2nd floor) is completely open and perfect for a big family or group. The kitchen, eating area, and living room are all joined and there is another full bath on this level. The most fun spot of the (inside!) of the cabin is the 4th level. The kids loved going up there! As nice as the inside of the cabin is, the outside is even better! All 3 of the 1st floor bedrooms open onto the huge wrap around deck that includes the hot tub. The living room opens up to the wrap around deck on the 2nd level, which includes an eating area and stairs down to the first level. The first day we visited Blackwater Falls, as well as a few other landmarks in the park. Day 2 took us to Seneca Rock where we spent the majority of the day, and even climbed to the very top of the rocks! You cannot beat that view! Day 3 was spent at Dolly Sods where we took the Red Creek Trail, which is almost completely unmarked and we literally saw only one other person in 5 hours!! It was amazing! You could spend an entire week at Dolly Sods! The last day we went whitewater rafting and it was one of the best guided tours we've taken. The guides were great and the experience was perfect for our kids' first time on the rapids. This was by far one of our favorite family vacations, and I would encourage anyone who is considering a trip to this cabin to go for it! You will not be sorry!!
