My husband and I stayed a week in late August 2026. We prefer 2 rooms as we get older. The information regarding distances to Macrossan Street and the beach was very accurate. The cottage was clean and comfortable. The pool is small and shared by 8 units but I never saw anyone else and I swam every day. If we return to Port Douglas we would have no hesitation in staying at Paperbark Cottage again.

Thank you for your lovely review, I'm glad you enjoyed your stay!
My husband and I stayed a month at Paperback Cottage and it was perfect for our needs. Communicating with Nadine was easy and her responses quick. The welcome goodies were very much appreciated and she made sure we had essential items to get us started! The cottage was clean, with pleasant decor and it felt homey because every need of daily living was thought through. Fans and screens in every room was a big plus for us and although there was air-conditioning, we never needed to use it. The temps were in the high 70’s which was cooler than usual. The garden landscaping was lovely, as was the back garden seating area. The small shared pool was a plus. The pool was cold but I enjoyed doing my pool exercises and taking a dip. We rode bikes wherever we wanted to go in and around town which was perfect. The quiet location just out of the village was great. Overall, a great stay! We would like to return and use it as our home base to visit our new grandson!
