Hosting is something I truly enjoy because I love making people feel welcome and creating a space where they can relax, reconnect, and make lasting memories with the people they care about. Whether you're visiting for a family vacation, a special celebration, or a quiet getaway, my goal is to provide a comfortable, thoughtfully prepared home where you can focus on enjoying your time together. I hope you leave with wonderful memories and can't wait to welcome you back for another stay.

Why they chose this property

We chose this neighborhood because it offers the perfect balance of peaceful lakeside living while still being close to everything. Nestled on beautiful Lake Charles, you'll wake up to stunning waterfront views, yet you're only minutes from downtown Dartmouth, Halifax, shopping, restaurants, and local attractions.

Dartmouth is known as the "City of Lakes," with more than 20 beautiful lakes woven throughout the community, making it a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts. Spend your days swimming, kayaking, hiking, or exploring nearby parks and scenic trails, then enjoy some of Atlantic Canada's best seafood at local restaurants or take a day trip to iconic destinations like Peggy's Cove and the South Shore.

What we love most is how quiet and relaxing the neighborhood feels. It's a place where you can truly unwind, enjoy nature, and disconnect from the busyness of everyday life, while still having the convenience of city amenities just a short drive away. Whether you're here for adventure or relaxation, Lake Charles offers the best of both worlds.

What makes this property unique

Nestled on 35,000 square feet of private lakefront land, this one-of-a-kind retreat offers a rare opportunity to experience the peaceful side of Dartmouth, the City of Lakes. Perched on the shores of Lake Charles, the property combines breathtaking waterfront views with the charm of a lovingly preserved mid-century family home that has welcomed generations for over 65 years.

Unlike a modern vacation rental, this home embraces the slower pace of the 1960s and 70s. Original vintage details, cozy gathering spaces, and thoughtfully preserved character create an atmosphere that's both nostalgic and inviting. It's a place to reconnect with family and friends, share meals together, play games, watch the sunset over the lake, and create lasting memories.

Step outside to enjoy your own private dock with built-in seating, an easy-entry swimming ladder, paddleboards, a canoe, spacious gardens, lawn games, and plenty of room to relax. Whether you're starting the morning with coffee on the deck, paddling across the lake, or ending the evening around the outdoor dining table, every space encourages you to slow down and enjoy nature.

The home is intentionally TV-light, with a single Smart TV located in the recreation room alongside foosball, ping pong, and air hockey. Instead of screens in every room, you'll find spaces designed for conversation, board games, reading, and quality time together.

Just minutes away, you'll discover everything Nova Scotia is known for—from fresh Atlantic lobster, Digby scallops, oysters, and local seafood to scenic coastal drives, hiking trails, charming waterfront communities, and iconic destinations like Peggy's Cove.

Whether you're planning a family vacation, a quiet getaway with friends, or simply looking for a place where life slows down for a while, this lakeside retreat offers an experience that's becoming increasingly rare: authentic, peaceful, and unforgettable.
