This cozy cabin that I have owned for over 20 years is a wonderful example of late-20th-century modern vacation home design. Tastefully decorated and carefully updated, you’ll be pleasantly surprised at every turn.

This cottage on the lake was so nice and relaxing. The host was very friendly and easy to work with. The game room downstairs was also very nice. This was our 2nd time coming to this house and we were very well pleased both times. We would highly recommend if you are looking for a peaceful trip to the beautiful Lake Hartwell.

This was the trip we needed for a much deserved vacation. The cabin was just perfect for our group! Doug, our host, was amazing and very helpful during our stay. The icing on the cake was the magical lighting bug dance. Can’t wait for another get away at the cabin!

Our week stay at this beautiful cottage was nothing short of amazing!! Although smallIn stature, it was plenty spacious on the inside for our family! The extra living/hangout space downstairs was fantabulous for when the older kids wanted to watch something different or play on their Xbox! The place was clean, beautifully decorated & well stocked for any occasion! The little trail to the dock was perfect & the dock was loaded with plenty of floats & kayaks. Our host, Doug, was the kindest person & very easy to communicate with! He was incredibly gracious with our over talkative, never meet a stranger 8 yr old lol Thanks Doug & Robert for such an amazing job & a wonderful week!! Definitely recommend for anyone looking to get away!!

The cottage was ADORABLE!! It was very clean and everything was as stated in the description online. I did not clean upon our arrival like I normally do so that says ALOT!! Doug was very informative before our arrival and stayed in contact with me to make sure we made it and there were no issues. Would definitely stay at this cottage again!! Highly recommend!!

We had a wonderful stay at the Meadmore cottage on Hartwell Lake. The property is beautiful. The cottage is so clean and decorated nicely. We had six adults and my thrèe year old granddaughter. The cottage is safe for children and has three full baths. The owner, Doug is so nice and very accommodating. We could only stay two nights due to prior scheduling. We will definitely return to the same cottage. I recommend leaving a down payment as early as possible. This cottage already has most of the summer booked! I highly recommend this cottage. I found it on VRBO. On a scale of 1-10, I give it 100! Yup 100!!!! Thank you Doug for making our mini vacation fabulous 👌 😎

A retired Georgia Tech grad, I have the good fortune of living in the wonderful new modern-style home next door to the property where you will be staying. Together, my partner of 30+ yrs (and also a Tech grad) and I own and maintain the 10-acre tract that we call Meadmoor. Over the past 20 years we have made this our homestead, first as weekend visitors and then as permanent Hart County residents starting in 2015. We have adopted (and been adopted by) the Hart County community and intend to stay here for the remainder of our years. "The Cottage" served us well as our primary residence while we built the new house which we call the Holly Hill House.

Why they chose this property

"The Cottage" is located in a small and close-knit neighborhood of lakefront homes in the sought-after Reed Creek area, and offers more privacy than most lake homes. While it's not a large home, it is big in heart and just right for a weekend getaway. The open plan layout, with its vaulted ceiling and lots of glass, invites the outdoors in. And the large lakeside deck offers plenty of extra gathering space.

What makes this property unique

The Cottage features a beautiful perennial garden and a short walk to the dock. The large basement playroom has a full-size pool table and 48-in. LCD TV with surround sound, and a good selection of CDs and DVDs.
