Fern Rock Mountain Retreat
Set on 16 private acres in the mountains, Fern Rock offers a rare combination of space, privacy, and flexibility for groups.
This listing includes access to the full property—Fern Rock Lodge, Fox Den, and Fawn Hideaway—accommodating up to 14 guests across three separate spaces. It’s an ideal setup for families, friend groups, or retreats who want to stay together while still having room to spread out.
Spend your days exploring the property, relaxing outdoors, or heading into Hot Springs, then gather in the evenings for meals, conversation, and time together.
The Lodge – Main Gathering Space
At 2,200 sq ft, Fern Rock Lodge is the centerpiece of the property, offering four private bedrooms and spacious common areas for your group.
The main floor features an open living area with a fully equipped kitchen, dining space for shared meals, and multiple areas to relax. A wraparound porch and the screened treetop porch provide additional space to dine, unwind, and take in the mountain views.
Fox Den – Private Cabin with Hot Tub
Located just steps from the lodge, Fox Den is a 390 sq ft one-bedroom cabin designed for a more private, self-contained stay.
It includes a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable living area, and a private deck with a hot tub. A nearby fire pit makes it a great spot for quieter evenings or a separate space within the larger property.
Fawn Hideaway – Additional Guest Space
Fawn Hideaway is a 160 sq ft one-room cabin near Fox Den, featuring a queen bed and mini-fridge.
It works well as additional sleeping space and shares kitchen and bathroom access with Fox Den, making it a natural extension of that cabin.
Outdoor Spaces
The property is designed to make the most of its natural setting:
Walking trails across 16 acres Spring-fed pond Hammocks and outdoor games Fire pit and gathering areas Mountain views from porches and decks
The screened treetop porch and “The Perch” deck offer elevated views and a peaceful place to relax, dine, or spend time together.

What a wonderful getaway!! Leah and Wes were great hosts. Thank you for the wine. We enjoyed it the first night. Sat around the fire every night, really enjoyed the screened in porch and viewing deck and the hammocks were awesome. They are right about cell service but personally, I loved that! Will definitely come back!! Thank you so much!!
My now wife and I needed a beautiful location to host our two families for an intimate wedding weekend that could be more or less fully contained on the property. Fern rock was perfect. An incredible place for a small group to spend time for any occasion. Leah and Wes accommodated is fully.

Thanks Chris! Congratulations! We are so happy it went well! Send us some photos! And let us know when you want an anniversary trip back and we will send a discount code ♥️
We came up to celebrate our daughters birthday. Having the whole property was fantastic. We were able to have a large group but also stay socially distant. The pond was a great little play space. We just had a great time.

We are so delighted you enjoyed your stay! Thanks for letting us provide a fun and safe place in nature for your daughter’s birthday. You were wonderful guests. Take care!
The cabins were absolutely wonderful and beautifully maintained. The group felt like we were at a mountain retreat for the weekend and could not have asked for a better stay!
We went there with our son and daughter... they each brought some friends and it was wonderful to have the multiple cabins as well as the main lodge to all come together for dinner! Just a splendid place! We have been coming to Hot Springs for years and this was the best place we have rented!
The perfect place to get away and enjoy nature and really good friends.
Carol was extremely easy to work with and did a very good job communicating. The property was bigger than I expected which was great because that gave us a reason to explore. Everything was cleaned and well organized. The hot tub was fantastic in the evenings and the floating porch was a gem in the mornings to drink coffee.
I would definitely go back.
Our entire group loved this gorgeous property with room for everyone, beautiful trails, fun spring fed pond, and well equipped lodging. The owners have us friendly tips on local events and were super quick to respond to questions. We love this spot and loved the town of Hot Springs! Thank you Fern Rock Lodge!

Magical mountain retreat. Perfect for families.
Can't speak highly enough of this property, or our experience with the owners, Carol and Doug. They thought of every detail and we felt as if we were guests in their personal home, rather than a rental property.
Fern Rock was the perfect venue for our nuptials, and set the stage for a magical nature-inspired wedding. It had everything we needed- including wild flowers for bouquets! The property was clean, comfortable, and provided the perfect layout for our families to spend quality time together while still enjoying our own private spaces. There were floats provided for the pond, outdoor games, plush bathroom towels, and plenty of spaces to relax and gather to share stories.
Fern Rock turned out to be better than we could have ever imagined. No one in my family wanted to leave! We can't believe how lucky we were to find this place and how well it met our needs. Highly recommended. We will definitely be back!

Had a lovely stay, the home is comfortable and the whole property is filled with special touches. Spent hours daydreaming and admiring the view from the pavilion, which is set high in the treetops.

Why we chose this location
Fern Rock stands out for its rare combination of privacy, space, and access to the natural beauty of the mountains. Set on 16 wooded acres, it offers a level of seclusion that’s hard to find, while still being within driving distance of Hot Springs and the surrounding trails.
What makes this area special is how immersive it feels. You’re surrounded by forest, mountain views, and the sounds of nature, with space to explore right on the property, including walking trails and a spring-fed pond.
At the same time, you’re close enough to enjoy the winding drive along Highway 209 (The Rattler) and everything the Hot Springs area has to offer, from hiking to exploring the local town.
It’s a place that makes it easy to slow down, spend time outdoors, and enjoy being together without distractions.
What makes this property unique
The smell of fresh pine, views of mountain ranges older than the Rockies, and a sky full of stars set the tone—but what truly makes Fern Rock unique is the space and privacy it offers.
Set on 16 private acres with a full lodge and separate treetop porch, the property gives your group room to spread out, explore, and enjoy time together in a way that’s hard to find.
From walking trails and a spring-fed pond to multiple outdoor gathering spaces, it’s a setting that feels both expansive and connected to nature.
