Spectacular Mountain View, Sunroom, Hot Tub, Secluded, Peaceful Getaway

Spacious house with lots of light & spectacular view from the sun room. Outdoor hot tub fits 6 and runs year-round. Fully equipped kitchen. Only 9 miles from Ithaca on a quiet country road. Porch and gas grill for outside eating and a large deck. Very serene, peaceful place with gardens, hammock, fruit trees, goldfish pond, and large yard. Super-comfortable beds with a queen in the master bedroom, a double, and two twins. You are welcome to harvest from the orchard & herb garden. Great get-away spot is very peaceful.

Enjoyed the stay and the view from the house, accommodations were comfortable and pleasant, attended college graduation ceremonies all weekend in Ithaca and the location was perfect, not too far from town and amenities.Martha, the host, was most accommodating in dealing with minor issues we encountered and we would certainly recommend to anyone to consider staying there if their travels brought them to this area.

Substandard conditions and inflated pricing

This poorly constructed and maintained rural property is grossly overpriced. The nearly 50 year old house does not have central air conditioning but has a window unit and two standing units for the rest of the house. Washer and dryer and ironing board are located in a terrible basement with intense mold smell, exposed wiring, and bug bait everywhere. The house was not clean or ready when we arrived. Master bedroom smelled like mold, had ceiling fan covered with dust, no overhead lighting, and missing bulb on lamp on bedside table. Hot tub was dirty and had not been cleaned between guests. Flies and maggots in garage trash cans. We were shocked at the appearance of this house, which should be described as a humble, rural property. It does have a pretty meadow and trees, and is close to Robert Truman State Park.

Can't Believe It's Real!

We had no idea what to expect, as we've never been to this region in New York before. From the minute we ran from the car to the front door as a storm was sweeping through the area until we were packing the car back up this morning to head home, I was OBSESSED with the views that this house provided. Everything in the house was exactly as described in the listing and in the materials that Martha provided upon confirmation of our reservation. But nothing that she provided could prepare me for the breath-taking views off the covered porch or how quiet and peaceful it was at any point of the day. Martha was easy to get in touch with and very helpful to us. The house was clean and bigger than it seemed in the pictures. But seriously... nothing will prepare you for the views and that sky in the night time. We kept thinking it was an elaborately painted backdrop!
