About this property

Newly Redecorated Ocean Front Condo

Mana Kai 306 is a 5-star luxury condominium situated directly on Keawakapu Beach, the most famous beach in Maui. Located on the ocean side of the building, it has two master suites, each with spectacular ocean views.

Wake up in the morning to the sound of waves, grab a cup of coffee and sit on your private lanai overlooking the beach. Look to your left and watch the sun rise over Haleakala volcano while you check your email using our free wireless internet. At the end of the day look the other way and watch magnificent sunsets between Lanai and Kaho'olawe every evening sipping a cocktail. In between you can watch the whales (5,000 spent the spring here in Maui this year) or just sit and watch the paddle boarders, sunbathers and snorkelers down below.

Amenities include:

** Breathtaking views down the beach, enhanced with our brand new floor to ceiling electric solar shades that provide black out darkness at night and filtered light during the day. With no need for curtains to be stacked against the walls, you have 25% more views than other condos. We are one of only two condos in the resort with this feature.

** Full-sized kitchen with granite counter tops and top of the line appliances (Bosch range, dishwasher and microwave, GE full-size refrigerator/freezer) and all the dishes, silverware pots and pans you’d expect in a luxury condo

**Two master bedroom suites with king size beds that come with Comphy spa sheets

** Two ensuite bathrooms, with walk in showers equipped with L’Occitane bath products and Kassatex towels

**Corner sofa sectional located across from a custom designed and built TV cabinet at the foot of the bed that swivels 180 degrees so you can watch TV while sitting on the sofa or laying in bed

** Upgraded air conditioning system with temperature controls in each bedroom

** Keyless lock system means you never have to worry about locking yourself out or losing a key at the beach

** Chairs and an umbrella are provided and stored in the beach closet by the front door

** All beautifully redecorated and outfitted with new bed and bath linens in the Fall of 2022

Keawakapu Beach is routinely voted one of the most beautiful beaches in Hawaii and is home to multi-million dollar homes down its half mile length. Because of its north/south orientation, waves rarely break over a couple feet, so it is extremely kid friendly. Snorkeling off our point is some of the best on the island.

The resort features a beautiful beachfront swimming pool and numerous vacation conveniences. Although we currently DO NOT have a restaurant on premises, a new restaurant remodel is underway with the anticipated opening in late 2023. The new operators are Bill Terry and Peter Merriman, owners of the popular Monkeypod restaurants and Merriman's in Napili. We believe that the new restaurant will be the best on our side of the island.

An on-sight activity desk can help with excursions such as a sunset dinner cruise, a luau, snorkeling off Molokini or riding bikes down Haleakala. The Surf Shack rents stand-up paddle boards and kayaks for the ocean enthusiast. And for you yoga types, Maui Yoga Path offers daily yoga classes taught by renowned Iyengar yoga instructor, Deni Roman. In 2016 the resort remodeled the basement of the building and built a state-of-the-art work out facility and a business center. There are also outdoor barbecues for our guest's exclusive use.

The picture down the beach was taken on a typical late afternoon from the balcony. You can see why couples get married right on the beach several times a week--it is a magical and memorable place, and it is waiting for you and your family.

So why stay in 306?

You have many choices when you are deciding where to stay in the Mana Kai. All 98 condominiums have identical floor plans; many have been recently remodeled; and some are closer to the ocean or on higher floors than others. Why do we love ours?

Generally, condos that are on higher floors can accommodate higher rental rates. We are slightly contrarian to this view. While you would want a top floor penthouse if you were staying in downtown Manhattan, we believe that higher up only makes you further from the sounds of the waves and the view down the beach. Being on the third floor is just right. We also have unobstructed ocean views in our back bedroom where many other units look into the stairwells or the elevator shafts.

As you can see from the pictures, we completely remodeled our condo when we bought it, and have made many additional improvements over the years, most recently in the Fall of 2022. Deanne is a designer in California, and her choice of colors, art and furnishings are unique and beautiful.

We live here part of the year so it is more than a rental property to us. We buy the kind of things you would put in your house: high quality dishes and silverware, pots and pans and kitchen utensils. We would like you to think about our condo as your home away from home.

We recently upgraded our cleaning practices, hiring 967Attache Services as our on-island property manager and cleaning company. Linens are professionally laundered between stays and the unit is thoroughly cleaned paying special attention to all touch surfaces. We have also recently upgraded to include L’Occitane soap products, Kassatek towels and Comphy sheets, which we replace each year to make sure they are perfect for your stay.

Don’t just take our word for it—check out our 111 (and counting) 5-star reviews on VRBO and see what other guests are saying. You won’t be disappointed, I promise.

Please email me if you have any questions. Mahalo.

Great Views
We enjoyed our stay at Mana Kai. Condo was everything our host said it was plus more. The view of the beach and sunsets were amazing and unforgettable. Several turtles decided to visit during our stay with one coming ashore to rest while 3 others romped in the surf. What an incredible site to be able to see wildlife in their natural habitat The condo itself was very comfortable and well stocked. We enjoyed just sitting on the balcony most morning have breakfast and tea. Never really had to use the air conditioner as the breeze was always very comfortable. Listening to the waves break at night was relaxing and helped you drift off to sleep after a busy day of exploring the island. Overall a very enjoyable stay and we hope to be able to come and stay again!

Amazing Everything
We loved loved our stay here. Beds comfortable, towels were nice. The location was perfect. Beach was amazing right outside so we didn't have to go very far if we wanted a lazy day. Saw so many turtles in the water! Rental was great for our family. Close to so many restaurants and grocery stores within 10 minute drive. I am an avid runner and the running into Wailea was absolutely stunning. Scott was quick to respond to any questions and very accommodating. Would definitely rent here again. Mahalo!

Great location and very nice condo
This unit was in a great location, located near but not in the middle of the Kihei retail areas. We had no issues hopping in the car and finding parking for breakfast and dinner. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. The Mana Kai facility and location were great and provided our kids a great balance of ocean and beach entertainment, and the turtles and snorkeling were so cool! We will definitely be back!

About the host

Host profile image
When our youngest of four children went off to college my wife Deanne and I figured it was time for us to quit the rat race and spend time doing the things we have dreamed about over the years. Scott quit his job as a VP and General Counsel of a Silicon Valley semiconductor company, we sold our house in the San Francisco Bay Area, and bought a condo at the Mana Kai Maui. Our extended family had vacationed here for several Thanksgivings so we knew what we were getting into--our piece of paradise. This picture includes Scott, Deanne and the rest of our family on the beach in front of the Mana Kai.

Why they chose this property

The Mana Kai is so close to the ocean that when we first arrive we have to close the window because the waves are too loud. We take daily walks down the beach and let the warm water wash over our feet and the trade winds blow through our hair. I get up early and watch the sun rise over Haleakala and then, from the same seat on the patio I watch the sun set in the evening. Magic.

What makes this property unique

Keawakapu Beach is beautiful and very family friendly. The waves rarely break over one or two feet, so young children are free to frolic in the water. Wonderful snorkeling is right on the point. During the Spring you can watch the whales literally jumping out of the water. Scott enjoys golfing and there are four world class golf courses within a five minute car ride. While Scott is golfing Deanne likes to go to the Spa at the Grand Wailea.
