Beautiful private sound front property shaded by 100-year old live oak trees with a dock. Just one mile from The Boathouse Marina, public boat ramp, and two miles from the Beaufort docks...perfect distance for golf cart rides. This amazing tucked-away rental sports the most incredible sunrise in Carteret County as it rises over Harkers Island bridge. Life is slower here where the egrets fish in the marsh and dolphins play as the tide lazily rolls in. This 1800-sq-ft comfortable cottage has been recently renovated and boasts three bedrooms, two full bathrooms, full capacity laundry room, and spacious living and entertaining areas, including two outdoor decks for additional leisure. Plenty of space to park boat and trailer in yard. Male and female beach cruiser bicycles provided for meandering through town. Brand new dock that is 12-foot on the T. Catch crabs in the crab pot provided and fish off the dock. No swimming due to oyster rocks in the marsh and shallow water. Bring your kayaks for incredible adventures through the marsh. By boat, it's only 20 minutes to get to the Cape and 7 minutes to Wade Shore and Shackelford Banks. Gas up the boat around the corner at Boathouse marina. Linens included; smoking outdoors only. Overall this is a nice property. It is close to all of the major attractions of the crystal coast and is a good home base for any of your adventures. The home itself is spacious and there is room for everyone to spread out and have their own space even on a rainy day. It is in a quiet neighborhood that seems very safe. It is located about 1 mile from a very nice boat ramp with the NC wildlife commission. There is room for boat parking you just have to watch for a few lower tree branches if you have any rods up. The property is on a nice canal adjoining river/sound. The canal is deep and boats could be kept there overnight with close attention to tides and oysters along the edges. Fishing and crabbing were good. It is worth mentioning that this is an older home that clearly the owners have put time and money into improvements and likely still have further projects to complete. Most of the house is hardwood floor but the main living space and one master has carpet. There is a dehumidifier that is kept running continuously. The porches are spacious but certainly the side/main entrance porch is cluttered with furniture and the porch does need some TLC. The property is separated from its dock by a short unpaved road that accesses an old home that is not lived in and a family member’s camper.

Overall, this was a nice house with great views, particularly of the sunrise over the North River Channel. The extra bed in the “den” area was perfect for a teenager and it was nice that all seven of us could sit at the table together for meals. We didn’t even mind that there was no dishwasher, as it made for some bonding and a few laughs after dinner! It would have been nice to have a door or curtain on the master bathroom door, not really a complaint as much as a suggestion! The trip to Cape Lookout is well worth the ferry cost!
