About this property

South Lake Leelanau lakefront home, Kayaks/Bikes provided, Clean Sandy bottom

Sunset Point is a beautiful west-facing lake front property with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms on Lake Leelanau. Our property is on the southern end of Lake Leelanau in a peaceful quiet setting and is just 10 minutes to downtown Traverse City and 20 minutes to Suttons Bay. The sunsets are spectacular and can be viewed while sitting around the campfire or from the spacious front deck. There are plenty of outdoor chairs available for your use and the kitchen is well-equipped with all of the items you will need to enjoy your up north vacation. During the months of June, July, and August we rent from Sunday to Sunday. During May and September shorter stays are available with a 4 night minimum requirement.

ACTIVITIES:
This property offers a nice beach area with gradual slope into the water with sand bottom, which is great for little ones to play in. In the middle of the beach area, there is a long dock with a ladder for easy access to the lake. If you don't feel like jumping into the water, we have two kayaks along with life jackets that you may use at any time during your stay!

If being in the water isn't your number one activity, we also offer four bikes for your enjoyment to use at your leisure. The house is less than 1 mile to a paved bike path (TART Trail) with a 10.5 mile paved trail through Traverse City and a 17 mile paved trail connecting Traverse City and Suttons Bay. In addition we are within several miles of many wineries and eating establishments such as Farm Club, Paradise Cove, Jacob's Farm and others.

At the end of the day, don't forget to watch the sun descend over the water and hills, as we have been known to get some of the most beautiful sunsets Northern Michigan has to offer!

ABOUT THE HOUSE:
Our house will sleep 6 people in beds, 2 in each bedroom (all mattresses are newer, and a pull -out couch in the living room if needed). Master Bedroom with King bed has slider doors which open to an expansive deck and the lake is only steps from the deck. Second bedroom has a queen bed and third bedroom has two extra long twin beds and a 40 inch tv. All bedrooms have ceiling fans and the living room has an Air Conditioning unit. There is also ample room for parking cars in the driveway.

There is one external camera which faces the red holding tank light on the west-facing exterior wall of the garage. This camera should not be disabled as it signals when the holding tanks need to be emptied.

PRICE:
Summer Rentals (June, July and August) are Sunday to Sunday. In general, a weekly rate is $4,375 plus VRBO fees, cleaning and taxes.

They weren’t lying about the sunsets! our family of four loved this house and the location. It is on a quiet street and direct access to the lake from the deck is one of the biggest perks of the house. The owner was extremely responsive when we reached out and the check-in and checkout process were easy. Having the kayaks, lifejackets and tubes available was also a huge plus for my kids. This house was centrally located to all the places we had to visit in the area.

Amazing sunsets on Lake Leelanau

We all had a fantastic time at this place. Perfect location and had everything you needed from kayaks, to bikes to plenty of outdoor seating for everybody to enjoy the amazing sunsets each night. Close to TC and Suttons Bay if that is your thing… Overall I would highly recommend anybody to rent this property and enjoy all that is to offer on beautiful Lake Leelanau.

Relaxing stay at Sunset Pointe

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this gem. The lake views were so beautiful and the access was perfect for our 2 families of four. Our kids range from ages 1 to 6 and the beach was perfect for all. The cottage itself was very clean, has a great layout and is stocked with pretty much everything you’d need. We loved our visit and would jump at the chance to stay again!

Wonderful Week!

The property was perfect for a lakefront week away. It was my wife and I, our 2 grown children and their guests(all 30+ years old). We spent most of our time outside on the deck or sitting in the water. Any time spent indoors was in the nicely appointed kitchen or relaxing out of the sun in the family room. The location was perfect...easy access to Traverse City or up the Peninsula to Wineries and Restaurants.

Awesome home in perfect Western Michigan location. Dave and Laurie’s home is a beautiful lake vacation home for a family or group of friends! We were there for a week with our 3 adult children and space was very roomy and comfortable. The house was extremely clean. There were plenty of really nice towels. Beds were very comfy. Kitchen had all necessities and then some!Being on the lake was great — nice dock and clear sandy bottom. Plenty of water toys for us and large deck for relaxing. The location was perfect with proximity to so many cute towns, bike trails and Traverse City. There are so many things we wanted to do but ran out of time.Will definitely try to return!

Won't disappoint!

We were in town for a wedding over Labor Day weekend. Made it an extra long weekend to be sure we could explore the area in-between wedding functions. We took advantage of just hanging out at the lake, using the kayaks and found a fun shell floaty in the shed the girls loved. House is just as pictured. Beds were comfy. Great views and easy drive to all the hot spots. As always, never enough time to see and do everything, so we will be back.

Fantastic place with everything you need

Our family vacation went off without a hitch at David's place. The location is perfect - close to Traverse City and everything else further north up the peninsula. The lake was wonderful and the house was stocked with everything we you'd need for a good trip. The kitchen was very well stocked and we didn't lack for any kitchen tool or pot/pan that we wanted to use for cooking. The beds were comfortable, all appliances worked perfectly, coffee machine kept us caffeinated, air conditioner cooled the house down on a couple of hotter days and the house was nice and quiet. Plenty of towels and kitchen gear kept us comfortable. We'll definitely be back!

9 Day Family Vacation

My family (5 of us) loved staying here! We enjoyed sitting on the deck watching the beautiful sunset. The kayaks and bikes were great too, although we weren’t able to adjust the seat on one of the bikes. There were also beach toys, life jackets, and tubes for floating available. Towels and bed sheets were comfortable and we all slept great. The kitchen was well stocked and the fridge was large with lots of space for all of our food. The fire pit space was also nice. We used the charcoal grill a few times but it was tricky because we aren’t used to using charcoal. Overall, we had a fantastic trip and made lots of special memories!

With this property, you get to enjoy the peace and quiet of being right on the lake with the convenience of only being 10 minutes to downtown Traverse City for shopping and restaurants. We are also close to some of the best wineries and golf courses northern Michigan has to offer.

What makes this property unique

While we won't give you the exact locations of our favorite fishing spots, S. Lake Leelanau has some of the best fishing just a few strokes from the dock with the use of our kayaks. If fishing isn't your thing, the property is only a couple minute paddle to the Tiki bar!
