Off the beaten path yet right in the center of one of Northern Michigan's most desired vacation destination spots. You're only minutes from such areas as Empire, Sleeping Bear Dunes, Glen Arbor and Old Mission.

Cedar Lake Lodge is open all year long and offers a wide variety of activities for every season.

Home includes the use of a **free pontoon boat w/10 gal free fuel, (Memorial week til early October), Floating Aqua-Play-Mat (Memorial Week thru Labor Day Week), kayaks (May 1st til Nov 1st), and row boat(April 1st til Nov 15th), dock (Mid-May til Nov 1st).

- For our winter guests we recommend bringing an all-wheel-drive vehicle or at the very least a front wheel drive with good snow tires.

*Frontage is typical northern Michigan soft sediment (mucky) bottom, great for fishing, but definitely not sandy!

**As a FREE bonus to our guests in our summer months, we offer you the use of one of a pontoon boats. They are nothing special. They are clean and well maintained. They range in size from 18-24ft. They range in age from 20-30 years old w/2stroke motors ranging from 25 - 35 hp. While these boats may not fulfill the boating dreams of some people, they are perfect for a sunset cruise or a family fishing outing. We even supply you with 10 gallons of pre-mixed gasoline!. To get the most enjoyment from these boats it is recommended that person with a knowledge of boating and two stroke motors be involved operating them. If not we do have full instructions, and technical assistance available if necessary. See photo of typical pontoon boat.

---- Also we provide a starter supply of paper/soap products which should be enough for a typical 2 night stay for smaller groups of 2 - 4 people. For a complete list of "what is provided" and "things to bring", check out "Using the property”, on your “My Trip” page.

It was a great location for my brothers bachelor party. We had a great time in the cabin and there was plenty of space for the ten of us.

What an incredibly enjoyable stay! Our family had a wonderful time here. The weather was beautiful, the beds super comfortable, and oh the peace and quiet. We loved the use of the pontoon and the pool table. The star-filled nights around the bonfire were amazing and the bugs were surprisingly few. We also enjoyed being close to so many attractions. There were plenty of paper and soap products to get us through the week. What a perfect vacation!

Wonderful cabin on the lake

Great place to stay for our annual “wine down” weekend. Cabin was very clean and well cared for. Loved that while we weren’t totally secluded, it felt like we were.

Beautiful winter getaway!

My family and I booked a two day weekend at Cedar Lake Lodge for a winter getaway, and to enjoy snow-tubing at Mt. Holiday. The cabin was so roomy, comfy and cozy that we didn’t want to leave to go anywhere! We enjoyed making breakfasts together in the kitchen, playing pool in the evenings, and enjoying the warmth of the gas wood-stove at night. This is our second time staying here and we would definitely stay again. Communication with the property owner, Lizzie, was fantastic and she is very quick to respond. I recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a wonderful place to stay in the Traverse City area!

Destination Wedding

We stayed for a week at the end of October for a family wedding in the area. The colors were beautiful and the cabin was a cozy home away from home during all the festivities! We had plenty of room and enjoyed the fire pit and the deck when the weather allowed. We would love to come back during the summer to enjoy the lake!

Great stay at turtle lake

We overall had a really great stay. The location was great as was the fishing. We were even able to catch a northern pike off the dock. The kids renamed it turtle lake as they counted an average of 8 from the dock every night, including really large snapping turtles. Given that and the amount of reeds nobody in our group was willing to go in the water but Taylor park Beach is nearby for swimming and we highly recommend it. If it had 2 more kayaks it would be prefect for a family. We had a lot of fun and wouldc stay again.

Joe’s 60th Celebration!

Cedar Lake was the perfect venue for our celebration. We packed in the fun with tubing at Mt Holiday, Dinner at McGees, Casino Visit. Shopping in TC and a spa day! Host was responsive and immediately had a tv replaced that wasn’t operational. My only concern was how cold the lower level was especially at night for those sleeping in that space. Another electric fireplace would be a great addition. Thank you !

Peaceful Retreat

A great place for both solitude and activity. The kids enjoyed sledding down the small slopes on the property as well as sitting by the fire in the evening. There was fun playing pool and watching videos as well as playing board games that were available. It was a nice touch having a Christmas tree already there upon arrival! Nice little fireplace in the living room. Kitchen was spacious and well supplied. Loved having sleeping quarters on different levels of the home. Lizzie was very responsive to all my questions. This was a fabulous get away for my family. Many fond memories were made on this trip. What a pleasurable experience!

2021 Girls Deer Camp Weekend and no we are not hunting deer. :)

Every year when the guys go hunting us women get away for the weekend also. We are hunting but it’s not for deer. Usually we go to a particular casino but this year we wanted something different. We cannot say enough good things about this property or the owners. It was a very easy process from start to finish. Anytime I emailed the host she responded quickly. The property was well maintained and very nicely decorated and very very clean It was inviting and you seriously felt at home. Due to the weather ( rained everyday) we didn’t get to sit by the lake and have bonfires and enjoy the view, but none the less it was a great time. Thanks again for helping us have an amazing weekend. 💙💛

The house was clean. The cabinets and draws could use an insideCleaning the bottom of the garbage can was dirty. Just attention to detail thingsKitchen had everything you need to cook/bake! The sleeping situation is not conducive for all adults. We thought the bunk beds were fulls on the bottoms:(. But overall we spent the majority of our time outside in awe of the beauty and had an excellent time

We had a wonderful stay at the lake house. The setting was incredibly quiet and peaceful-perfect for a relaxing getaway. The house itself was clean, spacious, and well-maintained, making us feel right at home. We especially enjoyed paddle boarding and fishing on the lake, which was calm and beautiful. The boat was a great bonus and added to the fun. We'd definitely come back!

Such a quiet and beautiful spot

We were all charmed by the serene lake with loons and even a visit from a large pileated woodpecker! All issues (we had a pipe leak) were handled promptly, and calls were returned within a few hours. There is a lot to manage on this property (someone came on site to pickup and drop off a row boat we weren’t sure about). We did our best to stay up to date and aware of all the policies and supplies (like toilet paper, paper towels, laundry/dish soaps, etc) we needed to provide. Thank you for offering this beautiful spot!

This was a lovely house. We loved being on Cedar Lake and the kayaks were our favorite outdoor activity. There's a fire pit by the lake. The pontoon ran with no problems. We did have to run the fan, as suggested, because the lower level was cold otherwise. We would stay there again if in the area.

I am Lizzie. My Dad built this home and he and my husband take care of maintenance. My mom does all the computer work. We are a very small, family business. <3

Why they chose this property

This home is unique in that it is only a few miles from downtown Traverse City, yet it is surrounded by a local nature conservancy. This means that you'll feel like you're really getting away from it all while you're very close to town.

What makes this property unique

This home was built in 2003. We have a lot of amenities and this is a dedicated vacation rental which means we don't have drawers, closets and cupboards full of our personal items.

Premier Host

They consistently provide great experiences for their guests
