Everything in the house was good. Doors/windows are drafty so it was a little chilly in the house. Road is really loud, so if you're sleeping in, it's going to be a challenge. Overall, it's a decent place.

One night was enough
This was more of a motel. It was dust y and cluttered with furniture and knick knacks. The dishes were under the sink and there were dead roaches. We tried to find another place to stay even without a refund. Shower had very poor pressure and temp control. Beds were comfortable, but small a/c units were not enough. We had to figure out how to keep the fan on without the lights on. Ended up taking the fan's light bulb out at night.

We are just heartbroken that your stay was not up to your standards. We are appalled at the condition of the room as well. This is not what we strive for . We have since replaced our cleaning staff and developed new cleaning protocols . We have spontaneous inspections and ‘secret sleepers’ to identify any issues. Please know we take reviews seriously; however we would have loved a chance to correct the issue first. We have not owned the property very long and are constantly improving our process, staff, and pricing. We do hope you give us another chance in the future.
Couldn't get in touch with host until 8pm to get code! VBRO offered us another place 20 miles away, which we declined! Hours and MANY phones calls later I finally received a call from the host. ALL kind of Excuses, but all we wanted was a place close so we could rest our heads. Host stated she would refund one night stay so we accepted. BIG Mistake! One quarter roll of toilet paper. The shower would get warm for a minute then get cold for five! Beware, the stairs inside are dark (light burnt out) narrow , steep without handrails! VERY Dangerous!!!! I don't usually write reviews, but this one needed posting!!! Don't go there!!!!

Mr. Sweatt, you were at a golf tournament all day long and then you were at dinner. You did not arrive to our space until 7:30pm. Upon talking with you early on in the day it was apparent that you were going to be a very difficult person. Because of this we asked you to stay at another location. We begged you to stay at another location. The other location was a 4 block distance from us and actually 4 blocks closer to your golf tournament. We offered you a complete refund as well as pay for your stay at the other location. YOU REFUSED. You bullied me into letting you stay. Against my better judgement, I explained to you that if you did stay I would only refund one night. The house keeper met you at 7:30pm (when you arrived) AND came over the next morning to assist you with anything you needed and at both times you did not mention anything. You called me and texted me several times threatening me and my staff throughout the day. Letting me know that you are not "through with me" and "you will get me". You also called Vrbo and told them that you did not stay with us and asked for a complete refund. Mind you I received a text stating you arrived with a friend at 10:00am from the golf course to check out.
After looking at your FB page it is clear that you give every place you go to a one star. It is clear that this was NOT the worst experience as you seem to have horrible experiences at every place you go. My guess is to receive as much of a refund as possible for every location.
It is unfortunate that you bully, threaten, and harass, small business owners to gain financial reward. You are an absolute awful person who is malicious and evil.
They text me less than 24 hours in a advance to cancel my reservation because they double booked themselves. I had 6 people staying here for a Christmas gathering and these people were already on their way. Poor, poor, property management.

We are terribly sorry for the inconvenience. We are only human and mistakes get made on occasion. However, I do believe we booked you at another location 2 blocks away.
Very unconfortable stairs. Just fit 1 person at the time. 2 queen beds were upstairs and Air conditioner unit no blow cool air. very hot. Warms and spiders were all over.
The coffee pot was dirty. Bathroom upstairs. No hot water in the shower. we were very dissaponted. too expensive for what we found.

As a special education teacher, my focus and specialization revolve around behavior and its impact on academics. I find great fulfillment in working with students who have diverse learning needs, particularly in the middle school setting. It is a dynamic and rewarding experience to help these young individuals navigate their academic journey while addressing their unique behavioral challenges.
Beyond my professional life, I am a wife and a mother. My husband is a Marine Veteran who has transitioned into a sales role. We have been blessed with two wonderful children who bring us immense joy. Our family is complete with two dogs, two cats, and two fish, creating a lively and loving environment.
In 2019, my husband and I embarked on a new adventure when we purchased a 1943 motor lodge. We immediately set to work renovating the interior to transform it into a cozy and inviting space for guests. The journey of managing our own motor lodge has been both exciting and challenging. Each day presents its own obstacles, but we approach them with a positive mindset, knowing that every hurdle brings new lessons and opportunities for growth.
Life has a way of surprising us, and my husband and I are a testament to that. We have known each other since high school, but it wasn't until 25 years later that we reconnected and embarked on a whirlwind romance. Our love story is filled with excitement and a deep appreciation for the second chance we were given.
Why they chose this property
San Saba holds a special place in our hearts because of our strong family ties. My grandmother, who hails from San Saba, instilled in us a deep appreciation for the town and its unique charm. Growing up, my father had the privilege of calling San Saba home, and his memories and stories painted a vivid picture of the community's warmth and character.
In 1998, my parents made the decision to retire in San Saba, drawn to its tranquil beauty and tight-knit community. Their presence in the town allowed us to forge lasting connections and build relationships with the locals. San Saba became more than just a destination; it became a second home.
Throughout the years, I have cherished countless visits to San Saba, creating cherished memories that have shaped who I am today. Exploring Mill Pond Park, with its serene landscapes and picturesque views, has always been a favorite pastime. The Regency Bridge, a historic landmark and the last suspension bridge in Texas, has captivated my imagination since childhood. And no trip to San Saba would be complete without a visit to Harry's Department Store, where the spirit of the community thrives.
Our family's ties to San Saba run so deep that you may even find some artifacts belonging to our family proudly displayed in the local museum. It is a testament to the enduring connection we have with this extraordinary place.
When we had the opportunity to purchase the motor lodge in San Saba, it felt like destiny. It was our way of giving back to the community that has given us so much joy and cherished memories. Our goal is to create a haven for travelers, offering them a glimpse into the rich history and warm hospitality that San Saba is known for.
We cannot wait to welcome you to our motor lodge, where you will not only find comfort and relaxation but also a touch of our family's legacy. We hope that your stay with us will be filled with unforgettable experiences and a deep appreciation for the remarkable town of San Saba.
