About this property

Mountain Retreat in Meyers. Permit# 074522

Welcome to our home. It is clean, quiet and filled with light. Located on a street that backs onto the National Forest, you cannot find a more peaceful neighborhood in South Lake Tahoe. A few minutes from town, you have all the benefits of mountain life with easy access to services.
The house is stocked with high quality towels and linens, and really comfortable beds and pillows. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with lots of original art work on the walls and comfy furniture.
The kitchen is huge with plenty of cabinets, tiled counters and floor. It is well stocked with utensils and pots and pans and we provide all the paper goods as well as spices, oil, vinegar, sugar and condiments. Our pots, pans and dishes are good quality, we feel there is nothing worse than trying to cook with beat up utensils and cracked dishes. If you want to dine in there is a dining room with an expandable table, and the kitchen also has a large counter with stools for casual eating. There are restaurants and a great pizza place nearby, in case you prefer to spend your time away from the stove.
The house is wonderful whatever the season.
In summer, it is bliss to sit outside looking at the mountains with nothing but the sound of the wind in the pine trees, surrounded by a beautifully landscaped yard full of native plants, bushes and trees. Across the street are numerous hiking opportunities, and mountain biking trails, and it is a short drive to the beaches and casinos. A great location to get away from all the craziness but close enough to access the beauty of the Lake.
The gas BBQ allows for leisurely meals while the sun sets and the trees sing. The lot is quite big, so there is plenty of privacy, and room to spread out.
In winter, there is easy access to Sierra-at-Tahoe and Heavenly ski resorts and Kirkwood is a beautiful 40 minute drive. if you don't want to hit the slopes, you can curl up in front of the fire with a book, watch a movie on the large flat screen T.V., or walk across the street (literally!) to the National Forest, with miles of trails for snowshoeing and cross country skiing.
The house is also well stocked with distractions such as movies, books and games.
There is also a portable baby crib and high chair for those who need it.
We are fully licensed through the County of El Dorado, with all safety inspections completed and passed.

Great place to stay for a ski weekend
This house was great for our family of four for a ski/snowplay weekend. Our kids loved snow play in the yard while we watched from inside the house. House was clean and there was more than enough space for us. Was also nice to have a garage to park in.

Relaxing Snowy Retreat
This dream home was amazing! It had everything we needed. The location is perfect with snowy trails across the street. Very spacious and welcoming. We enjoyed our family time and were close enough to hit the casinos for a night out if we wanted. However we just wanted to hang out in the home, play games and watch the snow. We definitely will be back as soon as we can!

Perfect family stay
We booked that property for our annual trip to Tahoe and we loved the house from first glance. It has three cozy bedrooms, spacious living room, well-equipped kitchen, huge backyard and all the appliances. Kids had a blast playing hide and seek as the house has plenty of nice hiding spots. We built a snowman and a snow fort on the backyard. The house is located really close to National forest, 5 min walk to the beautiful trail around swamp. We really enjoyed our time there and hope to come back next year!

Spacious place to spread out
The kitchen, living room and dining area were spacious. The 2 car garage was a bit tight, but it served our needs especially during a snow storm, and had plenty of outlets for easy EV charging. The spacious front and backyard was a lot of fun for our kids to play with snow. Leah was a super responsive and caring host. Although washer and dryer weren't working well, we were given many options to make our stay comfortable. It's probably fixed by now. Bread maker and crock pot were a plus. Nice to have Netflix on the TV. Kids' bedroom was fine with one bunk bed. Would love to stay here again if dates align.

We are a family of 2 parents, 3 adult kids, 6 grandchildren. Our busy lifestyle does not allow us to use the house as much as we would like, so we enjoy being able to share this wonderful space with friends, family and others.

Why they chose this property

We loved the neighborhood and our neighbors are so wonderful, friendly and helpful. We have made lasting friendships with them and love coming to visit and play. Meyers is a quiet place away from the busy activity of the lake, close to the mountains with mountain views, right on the National Forest with miles of trails.

What makes this property unique

Peace and quiet, sound of the wind in the trees, mountain air, bike and walking trails right out the front door.
