You won’t find a better location for peacefulness, family-friendly lake access, hiking and cycling, and proximity to Petoskey, Mackinaw and the upper peninsula. The location is so peaceful and quiet yet so close to everything Northern Michigan has to offer. The cottage rental includes spectacular sunsets, TrueStream fiber internet, dedicated fire pit, lawn games, kayaks/SUPs and much more
Sunset Shore (one of three properties available to rent on site) is a 1 bedroom Cottage that sits at the waters edge at the end of a wooded trail. It soaks in the breeze off Lake Paradise and rests in peace next to the quiet Stony Point Nature Preserve. This Preserve is a nature lovers paradise with a trail system that helps you hike it all.
A stone's throw lands you in the Carp Lake Township Park - a historic park nestled in the forest. Its tiny, but the swing set by the water is all you need to enjoy the serenity.
Moving closer to the cottage you'll find the dock with lots of water crafts to explore the lake with. Bring a pole, fish off the dock, or take a kayak out for a time you'll never forget.
Now inside the cottage, you'll meet the comfort of white-knotty pine everywhere. Pine adds a rustic and cozy ambience that can't be beat while reading by the stone fireplace. Vintage and homemade decorations add a dash of local charm.
Guests love that they feel like they're camping here without having to "rough it". You'll find a kitchen with modern appliances making homemade meals a pleasure. An updated bathroom with elegant tile and modern fixtures. Even a king size bed so you'll never feel cramped while sleeping.
There's no need to go to the park when you can live on one. Our guests always feel right at home here.
Please note we have two other cottages available on the property. Please see VRBO # 2131656 (sleeps up to 4) and 2131668 (sleeps up to 8).

* A special note to our early spring and late fall guests. It's cold during the shoulder months so please prepare. Our cottages are cute, but they're not equipped with central heating and cooling. You'll enjoy the cozy fireplace and we have a small electric heater but that's it. It's chilly so bring a sweater, a warm blanket, and enjoy the fall colors!
**The cottage shares the dock with 2 other cottages. Great location for extended family reunions.
