Escape to the serenity of Northern Michigan and stay in our charming Birch Landing cottage, one of three cottages available to rent. Nestled at the water's edge, next to a woodland preserve, our cottage offers a perfect location for peace and tranquility while still being close to all the area's attractions. With one bedroom and a sleeper sofa, it comfortably accommodates up to four guests.
Step out of the cottage onto the wooden trail, and you'll find yourself in the midst of the Stony Point Nature Preserve. It's a nature lover's paradise with miles of hiking trails to explore. A stone's throw away is the Carp Lake Township Park, a historic park with a swing set by the water that's perfect for soaking in the serene atmosphere.
Our cottage's dock is fully equipped with watercraft for our guests to explore Lake Paradise, known for its fantastic fishing, with Walleye, Bass, Perch, Pike, and Bluegill among the species you can catch. The gradual slope of the lake bottom makes it ideal for small children to swim. For those who prefer to stay on land, our yard games, including Corn hole, Badminton, Croquet, and Whirly Ball, will keep you entertained.
Inside the cottage, you'll be greeted by the comfort of white-knotty pine everywhere, adding a rustic and cozy ambiance that can't be beaten while reading by the stone fireplace. Vintage and homemade decorations add a dash of local charm. The kitchen comes fully equipped with modern appliances, making homemade meals a pleasure. An updated bathroom with elegant tile and modern fixtures and a king-size bed ensure that you'll never feel cramped while sleeping. Our guests love that they feel like they're camping here without having to "rough it."
Our cottage rental includes spectacular sunsets, TrueStream fiber internet, a dedicated fire pit, lawn games, kayaks/SUPs, and much more. We also have two other cottages available on the property, perfect for extended family reunions.
When you're ready to venture out, take a ferry boat to historic Mackinac Island, famous for its delicious fudge. Or pack a picnic lunch and spend time on the miles of beach at Wilderness State Park. Cycle on miles of dedicated bike paths in the region, including the Petoskey-Mackinaw bike path, a quick ride from the cottage. Spend the day shopping and having lunch in Harbor Springs and Petoskey, or take a short drive across the famous Mackinaw Bridge to see the beauty of the Upper Peninsula. Golf or play tennis in the nearby village or relax at the cottage with a good book while the others fish or swim. The area also has many country/lakeside dining spots.
At the end of the day, enjoy breathtaking sunsets from your own sunroom. Later, roast marshmallows over the bonfire at the lake's edge. Please note that for our early spring and late fall guests, it can get cold during the shoulder months, so please come prepared. Our cottages are cozy but not equipped with central heating and cooling. You'll enjoy the cozy fireplace, and we have a small electric heater, but that's it. Bring a sweater, a warm blanket, and enjoy the fall colors! Remodeled bathroom. 2024 Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.

Excellent, clean, attractive property right at the end of a row of cabins and cottages right on Lake Paradise. Close to Mackinac City and the bridge, and we have no complaints at all.
Beautiful and well maintained property. The bed was so comfortable and the linens were great! It was perfect for us and the kids loved the kayaks. Thank you so much! Highly recommended.
Cute! The first night there, we got to experience the amazing sunset. Despite the cold and rain that followed we enjoyed the cozy cabin and the blanket throws! It was close to the ferry to Mackinac and many other places that we visited. Great Wi-Fi for such a remote location. Something for everyone here! Wish we could have experienced the lake more but maybe next time!
We had a wonderful time staying at this cabin. The owner was so helpful and made sure we had a great trip. It’s conveniently located close to many great places to visit. I hated leaving and hope to come back one day. Thanks for everything!
The property was very clean and decorated very nice. The front sunroom was amazing and we enjoyed sitting out there and watch the lake and the awesome sunsets! The cabin is just so peaceful and tucked away from everything. We enjoyed sitting by the outdoor fire pit and all wood is supplied which was a nice touch! We highly recommend this beautiful cabin!!!
The cottage was right on the lake, we enjoyed some beautiful sunsets. Inside was small but we knew that when renting, it was perfect for the two of us. Very comfortable. Not far from Mackinaw City. We would stay there again.
This is a small, nicely equipped cabin for 2 adults. It's the last home on its corner of the lake. There is a walking trail along the lake. Their owner has 3 cabins. This is the smallest, but most private.
Our family of four had a blast staying at this cabin. It’s the perfect place to unwind and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. It was cozy, comfortable, and clean. We loved being close to Mackinaw City. Our son loved fishing in the middle of the lake to catch huge bluegill.
This beautiful property is tucked away on the lake. Its got all the amenities you need for your stay. I love that there is kayaks to take out on the lake. It was a great get away, close to Mackinaw and all the fun activities. Thanks for providing such a cute place to stay. P.S. the bed is so comfortable. 😴
Small cabin. Perfect for two people. Great view of lake out front windows. Clean and comfortable. It was remote, 10 minutes away from town. Very quiet area. We loved it!
My mother and I came up to spend a long weekend and visit Mackinac island. The cabin was cute cozy and clean. We didn’t cook a thing for 3 days and only had to wash 2 coffee cups. It was lovely to relax lake side after long days out and about. Mornings sitting by the lake were lovely too. Thanks for hosting us!
We booked a couple of properties with another couple for a winter weekend getaway. There was a little something for everyone. Lots of cozy reading nooks and space for doing the crossword puzzle in a beautiful setting and lots of space for adventures. We loved walking along the trail and can’t wait to explore the area by boat when the weather warms up. The house furnishings were comfy and modern. We found it to be well supplied for our long weekend away.
We had a great visit. Just remembered, you are in NATURE. We used lots of bug spray to keep the mosquitoes off us. The kayaking, paddle boarding and paddle boat gave us plenty of activities. We found everything we needed in the cottage. The bed was comfortable. The little special touches were great!! THANKS FOR EVERYTHING!!
We absolutely loved our weekend getaway to Lake Paradise and this cute cabin. The cabin was very clean, the bed was comfortable, and the view from the screened porch was fabulous. We dealt with a lot of mosquitoes inside the cabin - never figured out how they were getting in, but at least they were slow and easily dealt with! Also - if you want to use a SUP - bring your own paddle because the ones available have broken telescoping handles that won’t stay extended. Overall a 5* stay and I think we’ll be back in the future!

We are glad you enjoyed your stay. Thank you for letting me know about the paddles, I am ordering new paddles today.
We were enchanted by this cabin and its location. It’s a cozy getaway, down a road that dead ends at—this cabin! The nights were cool, so we built a fire in the fireplace every night. Mere steps from Paradise Lake, and the sunsets were wonderful. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed.
Mackinaw city is just a few miles away.
Bring mosquito repellent.
Arrive in daylight. This place may be difficult to find in the dark!
We enjoyed our stay very much! I think what would have made it a little better would be a more comfortable couch to sit on so we could sit together. I’m not sure the layout would allow for that though. The furniture is old. Also light on the back of the house would be helpful and around the drive to the cabin. It was extremely dark coming back at night. It was very peaceful though and the sunset view was absolutely beautiful. Host was really great as well.
