Enjoyed this place. Property manager was available if needed, but gave us our privacy otherwise. Conveniently located close to lots of fun places. Highly recommend staying here.
The stay was fantastic, hot? Of course - but the rooms with AC were ice cold lol. We werent' in the house but to sleep really, and the night breeze with the windows open and the fan going were fine. The location is prime! About one block from the beach, 7 eleven, close to amazing food trucks and PCC. I am so happy we decided to vacation here instead of in the city. Super clean and easy! We will be back!
We absolutely loved staying in Hauula at Mike's! We truly felt like this was our home away from home, as it had everything we needed and was so meticulously clean. Mike was also very responsive and made sure we were comfortable. The location was amazing as well - it's a 2 min walk from the beach, so it's easy to catch beautiful sunrises or go for a peaceful walk at night. The North Shore in general was the best part of our trip, so it was nice that we were close to all the beautiful views. If you want a quiet, nature-filled trip away from the crowdedness of the city, I'd highly recommend staying here!
We really enjoyed the accommodations. Everything was super clean and offered all the necessities needed to make our stay pleasant and fun. We would definitely rent this location again if we’re lucky enough to return to Oahu. Marcel/Liette…Alberta Canada
Location is near some smaller beaches with minimal grocery and resaurant options nearby. Most food establishments are food trucks that serve lunch/dinner options. The unit and property are well cared for and clean. Parking is street side and not really suitable for a truck or large SUV.
What can I say that hasn’t already been said. Amazing host and amazing property. If you want to stay away from the tourist trap hotel bubbles by Honolulu or Waikiki, then rent this place and enjoy your time in one of the most beautiful places on earth.
Loved how close this was to the Polynesian Culture Center and Laie. The home is crammed into a neighborhood, but I think that's the style of the city. The air conditioning was amazing and the home is great. We were very happy with our stay.
This was a gem of a find in a great location on the North Shore. Very well stocked with everything you need and well maintained. Just a short drive from our favorite beach, Sunset Beach. A family friendly community to stay in. Mike was a great host, we would definitely book again!
Great location, close to Laie, BYUH, PCC and the North Shore beaches. The property has all that we needed to enjoy our time there. They also had beach chairs, body boards, coolers, snorkel gear, etc to enjoy the beach. Mike, the owner, was great to work with and accommodating our late check in and out because of our flights. Would be happy to stay there again.
Mike has a beautiful house in Hauula close to the beach and alot of the other attractions that were a great time visiting all kinds of snorkeling and beach gear all in a quiet neighborhood to enjoy your time in Hawaii.
Thank you, Mike, for welcoming us into your home. It was perfect for my family and me, and it made our stay all the more enjoyable. We had an amazing time in Hau'ula and Hawaii overall, and we highly recommend booking this spot. From the moment we arrived, the home felt warm, welcoming, and clean. It was spacious enough for all five of us, and the common areas were both comfortable and accommodating. The location on the North Shore is fantastic—plenty of great places to eat nearby, Hau'ula Beach just down the street, and a 7-Eleven for quick snacks and drinks. We were only 7 minutes from one of our new favorite coffee spots, Coffee Cove, and just 20 minutes from Kualoa Ranch. There’s also a CVS and Tamura Market about 5 minutes away for groceries.Overall, my family and I truly enjoyed our stay and would absolutely book this home again. This was also my first time using Vrbo, and Mike was incredibly accommodating throughout the process. Mahalo!
We loved the home. It was lovely. Just wished it had AC throughout the whole house, more couch seating, and regular sitting chairs - not all tall ones. But overall, nice place.
We enjoyed our stay here. More A/C would have been nice but we didnt spend much time in the house. It's a long ways from all activities except the Polynesian cultural center and the Laie temple. It is very close to those two locations. We love the North Shore so it was nice to spend time at new beaches, that were less crowded than Waikiki and Honolulu.
The place was clean, modern, beach with in walking distance. Has all the basic needs covered for cooking, dishes silverware, all good quality, nothing cheap or plastic. Mike was very kind, pleasant and helpful. If you have never stayed on this side of the island, dont miss out, great place, stunning views. Also very close to Kualoa Ranch.
We stayed at this property for the month of February. Nice to stay at a place that provides lots of little extras - even a spice drawer! Owner was great to communicate with and quick to respond to needs. We requested a cheese grater and it was on our doorstep the next day. There are 2 fabulous hikes at the end of the street. I got used to the crowing roosters, but the noise from the neighbourhood dogs was a little annoying. Lots of places to explore on the North Shore.
We really enjoyed our stay at this property. It offered a plenty of room for a family of 4 and we felt at home there. The area was very quiet at night so everybody had a great sleep to recharge their batteries for the next day's adventures. The house is relatively close to all major beaches and activities. Mike was extremely helpful and offered us access to everything beach goers ever needed, including cooler, beach chairs, beach towels and even snorkeling gear so we did no have to spend anything extra. He also included a some useful reference books for tourists so we could plan our activities and sightseeing ahead. The property was well maintained and tastefully decorated. The instructions were brief and clear. Check in and check out were simple and quick. We would definitely return next time!
When we first arrived, we were thrilled to see this property and ground exactly as described. It’s a beautiful island property with gorgeous vegetation. Entering the unit did not disappoint either. The hardwood floors throughout, the modern cabinetry and kitchen, the gorgeous bathrooms, and comfortable bedrooms were exactly as described in the listing. The beds were comfortable. I usually get back pain when we go out of town for more than a day or two. I’ve been here seven nights and feel great! Micheal was responsive and helpful. Having beach chairs and mini coolers to take to the beach, as well as snorkel equipment, saved us a ton of money while we were here and were very much appreciated. If I ever return to Oahu, this is where I would stay! I highly recommend it.
The location in Hau'ula was great with easy access to all the outdoor activities we wanted to do. House was just as described and and provided everything we needed for two families- (4 adults and 2 kids). The only disappointing thing, which has nothing to do with the VRBO itself, was that the beach right by the house isn't great for swimming and wasn't the greatest for kids due to some questionable people being there in the evenings/night; my husband took the kids there one evening but didn't stay as he didn't feel comfortable with the people/activities that were occurring a the time. That being said, overall we felt very comfortable in the neighborhood and there were several fantastic, kid-friendly beaches within a 5-10 min drive as well as the more popular beaches further up on the North Shore. Mike was great with communication and even though the owners live on this property, we didn't feel uncomfortable at all and it felt just like we had the whole property to ourselves. I would recommend this place and would definitely consider staying again if/when we come back to Oahu.
This home was exactly as described and more. It was perfect for my two boys (26 & 12) and myself. You are right in the middle of the beautiful lush green mountains and the gorgeous beach. The beach is less than 1 block away. Mike was such an amazing host. He was very accommodating. I ran into a couple issues on my end and he gratefully worked with me making our trip memorable. I never had to wait long for him to respond, whenever i needed him, he was there. You can tell he takes pride in his home and truly cares about his renters. They provide a full kitchen including cookware, silverware, spices, coffee, coffee maker, towels
etc.. i will definitely be coming back next time i am in Hawaii. Thank you Mike!
Comfortable, very clean upper floor unit. The host is kind and responsive, and gives you privacy to enjoy your stay. Beds are comfortable, plenty of towels, well-equipped kitchen, nice relaxing furnishings, and 3 balconies which we enjoyed a lot. Wonderful hiking trail just up the road from the house in one direction, beach in the other. We liked the location, too, for exploring north shore and east side of the island.
We enjoyed our stay. The house is a quick walk to the beach, a 7-11, and a small market on Saturday mornings. We were able to buy smoked meat, foods, eggs, fruits/veggies and local crafts. All walking distance. The neighborhood is quiet and overall welcoming. Mike is a great host and went above and beyond to provide for our needs.

Aloha! I've lived on Oahu for over 30 yrs. I love living here in Hawaii...the climate, ocean, natural beauty, & laid back lifestyle.
I have several outdoor hobbies, including surfing & photography. My wife & I have 2 young boys.
Why they chose this property
Beach parks, hiking trails, grocery stores, restaurants, food trucks, shops, etc. are conveniently located nearby. This small rural community is authentically Hawaiian, unlike touristy Waikiki.
The 2 lane highway along the east side hugs the coastline, offering spectacular ocean & mountain views, making it the most scenic drive on the island, IMO.
There are 2 popular state hiking trails (Hauula Loop Trail, & Maakua Ridge Trail), plus a paved scenic nature path just a short walk from the house.
