Quiet multigenerational family retreat that feels like northern Michigan—yet is conveniently close to Chicago and Detroit

Looking for a place to truly rest? Eagle’s Wings is a peaceful, well-appointed lake house designed for multigenerational families who want to slow down, stay together, and enjoy classic Michigan lake life.

We intentionally host families (grandparents, parents, and kids) who value quiet mornings on the water, shared meals, and unhurried days.

The setting has the relaxed, wooded, northern-Michigan feel many people travel much farther to find, yet the property sits in southwest Michigan, making it an easy drive from both Chicago and Detroit.

The lake is all-sports capable but typically slow-paced, offering a calm, residential atmosphere rather than a busy resort vibe.

What Makes Eagle’s Wings Special
• Spectacular lake views from every floor
• Fully equipped so many families find they have everything they need right on the property
• Private indoor pickleball court—affectionately called the “Pickle Barn”
(Important note: The Pickle Barn has no heat or air conditioning. On very cold winter days it is unplayable; on hot summer days it can become uncomfortable. Guests who love the game still enjoy it on milder days.)
• Optional pontoon boat rental available through a trusted third-party broker (Vacation Boat Rental, Holland, MI—separate contract and fee)
Perfect for Families Year-Round

Summer
Swim, Paddle board, kayak, fish, or simply sit on the deck and watch the water. Nearby restaurants and attractions are available if you want them, but most of our guests discover they rarely need to leave.

Winter
Less than 15 minutes from two excellent ski areas:
• Bittersweet Ski Area – Strong ski school, gentle bunny hill, magic carpet, tow ropes, and beginner lifts ideal for young learners
• Timber Ridge – Skiing plus tubing for non-skiers

Extra Fun for the Kids
Camp Kidwell (4-H day camp) sits directly across the lake—a 2-minute drive or a short boat drop-off. Kids ages 4–16 can enjoy archery, swimming, canoeing, ropes courses, horseback riding, crafts, drama, and more. Overnight options are also available if you need extra sleeping space or a few kid-free evenings.

The cottage is set up for families and is limited to a maximum of 8 adults. Sleeping arrangements work best for multigenerational groups.

Great ski weekend getaway!

Great stay!

The house and lake were a fantastic place for our two families to stay. The lake water was clean and the house and outside had lots of spaces to for us to enjoy each others company yet not feel crowded. Marcie was a great host; we hope to come back next summer!

Nice lake

The lake is beautiful, you definitely need a pontoon to get out on the lake. The kids loved the kayaks.

This property was EXACTLY what our family group of 10 was looking for. We had 8 adults (21-58) and 2 children (2 and 5). Marcie was a fantastic host!The home was extremely clean and well appointed. We had everything we could possibly need (toilet paper, kitchen linens, towels, and every bathroom was well stocked with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash). A full sized crib and a travel sized crib were very convenient as well as gates on every single area that could be a hazard. Numerous toys and books for the littles were a nice surprise too! The pickleball barn was the icing on the cake. Our family made an official tourney bracket and we played games every night. The lake was so enjoyable and quiet. The shallow entry between the 2 docks was perfect for the kids to play in or to just safely float on the water in rafts. We got a LOT of use of the kayaks and the S.U.P. too. The house is close enough to make a fun half day or so visit to South Haven (25 mins) or Saugatuk (40 mins) and enjoy shopping, dining, or beautiful Lake Michigan beaches but still have plenty of quiet time at the lake house. Lots of fun and great memories were definitely made this week!My only suggestion would be to add a table/chairs (even folding ones) for use in the basement level for evenings. We ended up on the floor in the basement playing games late nights because the sound of all our laughter traveled too well from the main level to the bedrooms and it kept others up.

Tranquil location

Eagle lake is a peaceful rural location. We stayed for a full week and had the entire lake to ourselves the majority of time. The home is well equipped and located with an expansive water view. We would definitely consider staying here again.

Marcie is a great host and their property was a perfect fit for us! There was a lot of time spent in the water or on it fishing. The water is clear and has a nice shallow beach. The kayaks and paddleboard was used every day for traveling on the lake, and plenty of golf nearby for the golfers. The pickleball barn was a lot of fun for the family Matches. The house was very comfortable for the entire family and a great time was had by all. Thanks again Marcie.

Lake Fun

Great home. Clean. The house has everything you need and has a nice view of lake. We recommend renting a boat since there is a dock in the back and there are many sandbars to anchor the boat and enjoy swimming, floating on rafts, tubing, and fishing. We also enjoyed the pickleball court. Close neighbors; need to keep it down.

Eagle Lake vacation home

This is a lovely family friendly house on a quiet lake. Since our group included a toddler and a baby we really appreciated the crib, high chair, stair gates, and toys. The furnishings are modern and the beds were very comfortable. The packages of snacks and toiletries were a nice surprise. We also enjoyed being able to rent the pontoon boat. Thank you!

Perfect!

We needed to find a place large enough to house family members who were coming in town for my daughters wedding. Great family getaway

We had a wonderful family vacation at this beautiful lake property. There is something for everyone to enjoy. We were especially thankful for all of the thoughtful features for kids, toys, cribs, safety gates, door alarms, bunk beds, life jackets and outside toys, kids plates/cups and even a high chair! They thought of everything! The water was beautiful, clear, and shallow with a nice sandy bottom for the little ones to enjoy. The pickle ball barn was a huge hit! Fantastic stay!

We loved this property! I spent a week with my husband and our toddler and crawling infant. The house was clean and comfortable. The amenities for small children were very helpful and made the vacation easier and enjoyable, but it wasn’t overwhelming to take away from the lake house feel. The lake is very clean and warm. Marcie and Nate were responsive and pleasant, too. Thanks for sharing your home with us. We will be back!

Beautiful House on Eagle Lake

We had a family ski trip weekend and thoroughly enjoyed our time at the house. Check was easy, the house was clean and the view of the lake in the main living room is just stunning! We loved the complimentary snacks and toiletries left for us! The house had board games, books and toys to keep all the kids entertained the whole weekend. The adults had a great time having a hot shot tournament with the basketball arcade in the basement. We loved our stay and would definitely come back if we do another ski trip to Bittersweet or Timber Ridge. Thank you for a great stay!

Great house/great view/great lake

I knew upon arriving that we made the right choice for a weekend with friends. The house is as advertised - clean, plenty of room, excellent views, and well equipped kitchen. We opted for the boat rental which made the trip that much better. We really enjoyed Eagle Lake, parking at a beach with a nice sandy bottom (the entire lake seems to have fairly hard, sandy bottom), just hanging out. The lake is exceptionally clear, with minimal boating noise. Just a great time. The hosts are very responsive and helpful, if needed. Highly recommend!

Our Corona 2nd annual trip

Our family along with 2 other families stayed at this property from 7.31.21 to 8.7.2021. The property is very well maintained. Marcie has thought of everything her guests could possibly need. Full kitchen with crock pot; Keurig; as well as a water filtration system for drinking. She has a basket that she leaves some snack items in. The only issue we had was the upstairs was slightly hot, I was aware of it thanks to other reviews, so I was prepared and packed some fans. Our weather was perfect, the lake is quiet and the neighbors are very friendly. We will definitely keep this property in mind for future stays! We typically go to different areas in Michigan for our summer vacation as we like to see all that this state has to offer!

This property is newly furnished from top to bottom and we have left nothing out for you and your family to enjoy a relaxing vacation away from it all. It has the best of both worlds. Choose to go "off the grid" and unplug as though you were in the Upper Peninsula or bring your devices or use one of our 4 TVs to catch up on your Netflix que.

There's something for everyone at Eagle's Wings Retreat. We hope you find it as rejuvenating as we do.

What makes this property unique

Well the obvious answer is the private indoor pickleball court of which you and your family will have exclusive access.

For the active crowd, we are close to Golf, Kal-Haven Bike trail, Winter Skiing and Lake Life.

For the home bodies, there is ample time for unplugging and reading a book or catching up on your Netflix que. One of our favorite activities is coffee on the deck simply enjoying the views and peace and quiet.

We have a "no screen rule" when we enjoy Eagle's Wings Lake House. We encourage you to do the same. Wifi and Televisions are optional. We would love to see your whole family "unplug" and connect with each other.
