Your Property
Perched above the valley at the highest point of the LAND, Sky Home offers a front-row seat to one of the most iconic views in the American Southwest. From its expansive deck and sun-filled interiors, you’ll take in sweeping, unobstructed vistas of the Pedernal and the rolling contours of northern New Mexico. Sunrises and sunsets here are extraordinary, casting golden light across the open valley below.
Sky Home, like all of the homes on the LAND, is constructed with non-toxic, natural materials—thick earthen adobe walls, clay and lime plasters, low-VOC finishes, and solid wood elements—designed for healthy living and natural thermal comfort. These materials naturally regulate temperature throughout the seasons, creating interiors that feel cool in summer, warm in winter, and deeply restorative year-round.
As night falls, the home becomes a haven for stargazers and photographers. With near-zero light and sound contamination, the skies reveal the Milky Way, visible planets, and meteor showers in breathtaking clarity. Whether you’re capturing constellations through a lens or simply lying back on the deck, the cosmos feels remarkably close.
The broad wooden deck is ideal for morning movement, meditation, reading, or simply taking in the view. Sky Home is a sanctuary for creatives, nature lovers, and anyone seeking stillness and inspiration.
Kitchen Amenities
The kitchen is exceptionally well-appointed and includes:
Electric range with oven
Vitamix blender
Coffee maker, kettle, and toaster
Full cookware set
Crock pot
Fully stocked dishware and glassware
Coffee, tea, olive oil, salt, pepper, and essential spices

Sky Home is one of six custom adobe structures on the LAND—a 43-acre retreat sanctuary bordered by 1.5 million acres of national forest. A year-round creek flows through the property, bringing life, gentle sound, and occasional beaver sightings. The birdlife is abundant, and the prevailing soundtrack is rustling leaves, flowing water, and deep stillness.
In line with our commitment to regenerative living, the home has no air conditioning—we rely on adobe’s natural thermal regulation for comfort. The property is strictly pesticide-free to protect the delicate ecosystem. By choosing to stay here, you’re invited into a slower, more conscious way of living—one that honors land, wildlife, and natural systems.

Guest Access
As a guest of Sky Home, you’ll have full access to the 43-acre LAND. The property includes three additional guest homes, the Cathedral Barn (used for group lodging and gatherings), and the private residence where the owners live. The homes are thoughtfully spaced to preserve a sense of quiet and privacy.
Wander freely throughout the property, where the orchard offers seasonal apricots, apples, pears, and plums when in season. Open any gate and step directly into the national forest for hiking, nature walks, or mountain biking across rugged, wide-open terrain.
Sit quietly beside the year-round creek in this protected beaver habitat, or watch for wildlife at dusk. Children can safely explore while you rest and reconnect.
Shared outdoor amenities include:
Two open-air yoga/viewing decks
The Fire View, a raised stone platform with unobstructed views of the Pedernal, featuring a wood-burning fire pit and grill
Access to Beaver Creek
Access to the Tsiping Ruins trailhead
Private entry into the surrounding Santa Fe National Forest
Whether you’re here to explore, create, or simply pause, the LAND offers a rare invitation to return to land, light, sky, and quiet.

Interaction with Guests
The owners live on the LAND and can be reached via messaging through the booking platform. There may be other like-minded guests staying in nearby homes—often fellow nature lovers and creatives—or you may not see anyone at all, as many guests spend their days hiking and exploring the greater Abiquiú landscape.
Other details to note

The LAND draws its water from a deep well that taps directly into an underground aquifer. The result is clean, naturally filtered water—fresh from the earth and free of chemicals.

You may encounter our friendly property cats as they wander the grounds or rest near the homes.

We charge a $30 pet fee per pet, with a maximum of three pets per home. For bookings with three dogs, an additional $50 cleaning fee applies.

To support both work and relaxation, we’ve installed high-speed fiber internet throughout The Land.

Please note that the LAND is located in rural northern New Mexico, surrounded by pristine wilderness. It’s common to see deer, foxes, elk, and a wide variety of birds. While the broader region is home to wildlife such as bears and mountain lions, we have never seen a mountain lion on the property and have only seen a bear once in many years. Encounters are extremely rare and highly unlikely, but we share this information in the spirit of transparency about life in a natural high-desert environment.

We encourage guests to enjoy the natural surroundings with curiosity and care.

About the host

Hosted by Jonathan Olinger

Host profile image
We are a couple Jonathan from NYC founder of HUMAN a storytelling agency, and Maya a global citizen founder of Maya Savage a earth centered jewelry studio. We arrived at THE LAND as Airbnb guests. Instantly we felt a deep connection to the land and this beautiful space. Just out of curiosity we decided to do a google search to see what was for sale in the area, lo and behold, the very property we were staying at was listed for sale. So we bought it !
It's been a real adventure. Our vision is to create a sustainable eco-friendly designer living space. We are trying to restore the land, the trees, and orchard that had been grossly neglected by the previous owners who hadn't watered or nurtured the land in over 2 years. Additionally, we are moving into full solar energy, composting all organic matter, recycling of greywater, a massive watershed management project, as well as planting our own veggies that hopefully we will be available for sale to all guests in the next year.

What makes this property unique

43 acres of private property, 1 creek, 2 yoga decks, a luxury barn and 1.5 million acres of national forest surrounding the property for hikes and walks. The entrance to the national forest surrounding THE LAND is through our property so we think it fair to say that you will have private access to 1.5 million acres of hikes, serenity and spectacular views.
15 mins away from Lake Abiquiu.
