About this property

Fish Abiquiu Lake, Hike Pedernal and Ghost Ranch

Enjoy the views and the easy silence in this MinneDome overlooking Abiquiu Lake to the world famous Ghost Ranch as well as Cerro Pedernal, the mountain made famous by many a Georgia O'Keeffe painting. There is walking access to Abiquiu lake in a quiet and safe gated community. Nested on top of a hill with 360 degree views of the spectacular landscape and night sky that only New Mexico can offer. The minnedome is a true guest house. It sits on top of a hill near the owner's residence on 10 acres of high desert overlooking Abiquiu Lake and Cerro Pedernal. You have access to the whole house, hot tub and property to hike and explore Knock on the big dome's door or call. We love dogs, but our dog is reactive. Please keep your furbabies on leashes.

Wonderful house with incomparable skies and views! Everything we needed to be comfortable for 4 nights at Abiquiu Lake — especially loved the hot tub. Very peaceful in an isolated but very beautiful spot.

This was a great weekend trip! It was easy to drive to museums and the lake, but also could have easily hung out at the dome the whole time

Amazing location

The mini dome had everything I needed for a comfortable stay: plush towels, a fridge and freezer and all major appliances, hot water and a comfy bed. The view is stunning and the trek down to the lake was easy and fun. My senior chihuahua joined me and she enjoyed snoozing on the cozy couch (on top of a blanket!) and going for walks. I just loved it and I hope to stay again!

Lake View Domes

We loved our stay at the Lake View Domes. Marie allowed all the privacy we needed but was a friendly face if we had questions or needed help. The views in the day were outstanding and always changing with the weather. The patio had seating to gaze across the valley towards Abiquiu and the lake. It was all we really needed! Our dog Odie was welcomed with open arms and hiking was available from the property. Perfect place for quiet and contemplation, we would go back in a heartbeat! Thank you Marie and Cindy.

Amazing Views!!! But just know this...

The locations is amazing if you are looking for off the beaten path and want to experience true New Mexico beauty look no further! Marie was fantastic to work and helped my get a refund as I only spent one night at the property. A few things to know1. You will need to bring your own drinking water. Marie let me know this before coming2. It's a dome so if I had to guess it's not very well insulated like a traditional house. While there is a mini split I don't think it's powerful enough to keep the whole dome cool as it's above the kitchen and the

I feel the need to defend my house and Joey's subsequent disappointment with his stay. This house has an R55 rating for insulation. These walls are twelve inches, thick and fully insulated. The mini split is plenty cold, but the guest had it on the incorrect setting (dehumidify instead of cool). I write in the guest book as well as the welcome card that if there are any issues with anything to please give us a call. I never received a call until I got a text message the next morning telling me that he was leaving after one night. I was not given the opportunity to address and correct the situation until after he left. I guarantee you, we lived in this house for a year with a dog, and there was never a problem with the AC. I do note in the directions for the dome that you need to pick up drinking water. This is a common problem in rural New Mexico. The well water is treated and filtered, but doesn't taste great. I have since provided a 5 gallon container and a water cooler in the minnedome. There's a 3rd issue that we had, and I didn't see it in this review, is that we have a Sleep Number bed. Joey said that had he known we had a Sleep Number bed, he would not have rented the place. It is clearly stated in the description of the property now, as it was then. I know this was Joey's first experience with VRBO and I do not want it to be his last. I suggest that next time he should read the full description and ask for any help if he has questions.
