About this property
Spacious Home in the Heart of Acadia National Park
Welcome to Fins and Feathers, a hidden gem in the heart of Acadia National Park. We are Spruce Properties Bar Harbor, also available online at sprucepropertiesbarharbor.wordpress.com. Please visit our website to learn more about our offerings and see more pictures of the properties.
Bright and spacious home nestled in the woods abutting Acadia National Park. Located on the quiet side of Bar Harbor away from the hustle of busy day traffic, but only 3 min from downtown. Built by a local as a family home in 2005, this house has all the comforts of a new home with all the charm of a well-loved Maine cottage. Enjoy the giant, light-filled living room stocked with books and games, have coffee in the cozy breakfast nook tucked up against the woods, or take advantage of the fully stocked kitchen. There is a beautiful view of Champlain Mountain from the house, which boasts amazingly colorful sunrises and sunsets easily seen from the deck.
Drive past the beautiful Tarn and in between Door and Champlain Mountains to reach our property, located just south of Bar Harbor and set back off the road. You can access the park out the back door, or walk to the hidden stream nearby. It's a very short drive to either the Cadillac South Ridge Trail or the Dorr Mountain Ladder Trail. Our family is very familiar with hikes and places to go in the Park, and would be happy to offer suggestions catered to your tastes. Acadia surrounds you!
Enter the bottom floor to find a large mudroom and the first large queen bedroom with a sleeper sofa and living area. Up the stairs will be the breakfast nook, next to the commodious kitchen and extra half bathroom on the right. Around the corner is the open living room and dining area with plenty of windows and a large sliding door leading out to the deck with the grill. Around the next corner is the second queen bedroom and the stairs to the second floor. At the top of the stairs there is the laundry room, full tiled bathroom with lots of towel racks, and the master bedroom and kids' bedroom. The spacious master bedroom has a queen bed, two closets, and two desk spaces. The kids' bedroom is smaller and has two twin beds. I would describe our house as spacious and accommodating, everything shipshape but without a lot of frills.
Notes: This property is not handicapped-accessible. Pets considered upon request and for an additional fee of $60/night. Typically this house stays cool, but we also have window A/C units in the living room and master bedroom and fans in all rooms. There is parking for 3 cars next to the house. Bar Harbor rental registration #1814.
