About this property

The "Quintessential" Cabin in the Woods.

You can't find a more peaceful and quite location than this cabin located in Westcliffe Colorado. Designated a Dark Sky community, it's your home base to the Arkansas River, Sangre de Cristo Mountains and Wet Mountain Valley. This log cabin home has all the modern amenities and nearly 3000 square feet of space to stretch out for your family and friends. You'll find yourself in a sportsman's paradise so come revel in the starry skies, chirping birds and ponderosa pine fragrant mountain views.

On arrival you'll find a bright and cozy log cabin home with vaulted ceilings and a open main floor layout. It's large enough to accommodate big families or gathering friends. It sits on a wonderful 6 acre treed lot with a view of the mountains and several unique rock formations. That in combination with the gated community and you have tons of privacy.

The main floor dining, family room and kitchen are all part of an expansive open floor plan housed under tongue and groove pine vaulted ceilings. There is lots of room to gather around the TV and fireplace or sit at the kitchen island bar and chat it up with the cook. The kitchen table doubles as a spot to play board games or solve puzzles. 4 bedrooms and 8 beds combine to offer comfortable sleeping accommodations for 6 people. You also have 3 full baths and 1 half bath at your disposal. In the warmer months there is deck seating for plenty on brand new outdoor furniture. Seating for 6 at the outdoor dining table, 5 on the front porch couch and lounge chairs and 4 on the back porch recliners for when the sun sets. Grab some cocktails and shish kabob, throw on some Chaka Khan and enjoy. For the fire pit nights on the concrete patio there are 4 wicker rockers and extra plastic chairs. Absolutely amazing
The cabin was amazing! Very quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed sitting on the back porch every morning drinking coffee and watching the wildlife. We saw chipmunks, humming birds and deer. Inside the cabin was very nice. Every amenity you could ever need in the kitchen! The king bed was amazing. We made the short drive to Westcliffe daily and we also drove to Salida and Buena Vista. We loved the cabin and definitely will go back!

Why they chose this property

I searched for years along the Rocky Mountain range for a place like this. In the end I feel it had just enough of everything that I wanted. First and foremost the house. A bright and cozy log cabin home. Vaulted ceilings and a open main floor layout. Large enough to accommodate big families or gathering friends. Second is the 6 acre treed lot. That in combination with the private gated community and you have tons of privacy. The property has several unique rock formations worth checking out. Hikes or runs up and down the dirt roads within the community are fun too. Third is the location. This isn't a ski town, it's a ranching community. Therefore there are less people but more of the kind you'd want to know. The views from the house are nice but the views from the valley floor are even better. It all offers endless exploring.
