The Rainbow Trail is accessible through the neighborhood.

Max 6 guests (including children, excluding infants).  Guest count is closely monitored. Please let us know if there will be any non-overnight visitors.

An inviting wrap around porch is perfect for entertaining as it has 2 picnic tables, chairs, 2 grills and 2 custom massive swing chairs & firepit. Listen carefully and you can hear the creek that runs the length of the property and the spring that feeds the pond. Inside you will find dramatic vaulted ceilings with large windows to appreciate the mountain views. Snuggle up at one of the two fire places or lace up your winter boots for snowshoeing.

This is a REAL European log home with massive logs throughout and built to perfection.  This home is perfect for those wishing to spend time in the country with a bit of luxury.  Remote peaceful location and 15-20 minute drive from downtown.

Bring your hiking gear and head to the Lake in the Clouds trail. We have yoga mats for a nice yoga session on the deck or go into town for a yoga class.

Bring your telescope to stargaze!  We are a Dark Skies community so it is a true escape from light pollution and city living.

This room is nice and dark and perfect for late sleepers and people who prefer not to do stairs since it is on the main level.

The Living Room sits on the main level with a wood burning fireplace, a queen sofa bed, HD TV with Dish TV network and massive handcrafted propeller ceiling fan.  The mountain views are incredible from these large windows .The sofa bedding can be found in the master bedroom closet or on the sofa.

The Dining Room and Kitchen sit next to the Living Room in an open concept with vaulted ceilings, large propeller fan and unique custom bear chandelier.  The dinning room has an antique dining table with a leaf that can extend. placemats are located on the cabinet next to the table.

The kitchen is fully stocked with a variety of pans, utensils, serving ware, dishes, new small appliances such as coffee maker, toaster, blender to make it easy for meal prep and serving.  We will provide the essentials such as basic spices, tea, coffee, filters, sugar and condiments.

The dining room table is an antique and can seat up to 6 and extension leaves can be found next to the cabinet.  The breakfast bar can sit up to 3 more sitting close enough proximity for conversation.

The Family Room is large with a kitchenette, bar, dining/play table, large gas fireplace, Foosball table, queen sofa bed, HD TV with Dish TV network, dartboard and darts, DVD library, board games, books, cards, DVDs and door to lower deck.  The sofa bedding can be found in the cabinet next to the kitchen. The kitchen has wonderful views of the mountain and an expansive island with 3 stools.

Although we have 1 king bed, 1 queen bed, 3 sofa beds and 2 bunkbeds, our guest capacity is restricted to 6 total guests (including children and infants). Our sleeping bed variety gives guests MANY options on sleeping arrangements but not intended to sleep over the approved capacity of 6 guests per Custer County license regulations.

The grounds are natural landscaping with various spots to read or meditate and hear the sounds of the "quaking" of the aspen leaves, the chatter of the birds and local critters like elk, deer, wild turkey, owls, red tail hawks, golden eagles and yes even bobcats and coyotes.

Our community is one of 10 in the world that has earned a Dark Skies designation.  The stars are amazing!

The home sits on 4 acres total since we own the lot next door.  The pond is private and belongs to us - it is not suitable for swimming but rather enjoying its beauty.  You may play on the creek as it runs adjacent to the property.  I love sitting by the creek and reading or sometimes working on my NY Best Selling Novel and sipping some wine.
The laundry room is accessible to you and for your use.  We keep our cleaning & maintenance supplies in there so please only use what you need and encourage guests not to take anything out of our supply.

We love hosting and making your stay special so we are available via text or phone call. We respond very quickly to cater to you.  Upon booking, you are warmly greeted and followed up by access instructions and I also reach out the day before your stay to make sure you are all set and ensure the cabin is set a the right temperature for you!

Location! This unique log home is located in an exclusive gated community close to the town of Westcliffe (16 minutes away) and is perfect for a launching pad to many adventures.  It is secluded but not too far from downtown.  The downtown has a very cool laidback vibe with the friendliest folks I have ever met.  It is a harmonious mixture of ranchers and artists.
The house is ideally located with gravel road in good condition.  Having an all-wheel drive is a good idea in winter as you never know about the weather.  Antelope, mule deer, prairie dogs, coyotes and tons of birds roam the grounds.

Whether you ant to explore nearby Westcliffe, Silver Cliff, Cotopaxi, Mission Wolf and the Wet Mountain Valley, you will love this gorgeous location. Opportunities for shopping, hiking, biking, horseback riding, fishing at Lake Deweese (13 miles away) or at times, we stock the pond (right on our property), cross country skiing, and more are all close by. The 120 mile-long Rainbow Trail is just steps away and Commanche/Venerable trailhead is 1/2 mile away!  Both Wolf Springs ranch where there is a bison herd and Mission wolf sanctuary are located about 1/2 hour drive south of Westcliffe. Elin Rusher's ranch at Music Meadows right across the valley hosts authentic horseback adventures on her working ranch.

Did I mention The Milky Way and Meteor Showers visible from the deck? Westcliffe is the first certified Dark Skies Community in Colorado and the world's highest.  The heavens above are filled with sparkles due to the high altitude and lack of light pollution.  Can you spot E.T.?

Classic Colorado sites like the Royal Gorge Bridge and the train (70 minutes away), Arkansas River where you will find Gold medal trout fishing and white water rafting (40 minutes away), Great Sand Dunes National Park, the Spanish Peaks, five 14ers, a dozen 13rs, Hardscrabble Pass, Garden of the Gods, Bishop Castle, Salida, Monarch Mountain skiing, and many more attractions are all within 1-3 hours' drive from the house.

Amazing stay
We stayed at the luxury log home several nights in August and it was amazing. The location is gorgeous and the home was everything we hoped for. The hosts were super responsive and all instructions were really clear. I highly recommend this property for anyone looking to vacation near the Sangre de Cristo mountains.

We live in Denver area and enjoy family trips to Westcliffe. This is our family home and we thought long and hard before we opened it to guests. We try to enjoy it as much as we can since it is our little piece of heaven so we have great beds, linens, down comforters, pillows and furnishings that are more in-line with a nice home rather than a rental. We love hiking the Rainbow Trail and going Jeeping so we love that you can embark on wonderful journeys right from our backyards! We love to host and know that it is the little things that matter so we make sure to provide everything you may need and more. We treat our guests like family and many of our guests have become friends over the years and stay with us multiple times! We also appreciate if guests treat our home with love and kindness so we do have a few rules and restrictions to make sure our home stays beautiful and in great condition.
