A San Gimignano Gem

A period apartment that suits the town perfectly. High ceilings, comfortable furnishings - oozing historic charm. XXX was kind to supply kindling for a night or two fire - and she responded quickly to our enquiries. Perfect location inside the wall - within walking distance to all San Gimignano has to offer - and there is much to see and enjoy. We stayed 11 days - and loved the charm of this first floor apartment. Thank you, Mariana!

Loved staying inside the medieval town. The town itself was gorgeous and the apartment was very large, comfortable, and beautiful. Claudia was patient, very helpful and easy to work with. My husband and I travelled with our three children and were very comfortable. I can not wait to return and stay there again.

Lovely home but be aware of costs!

This is a lovely home in the heart of San Gimignano, well, but not luxuriously equipped. The property representative is wonderful - helpful, patient, funny -- nothing was too much trouble! She was a pleasure! We enjoyed our stay of one week. The apartment was spacious and, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms we had space to spread out. It is part of a lovely, ancient building so no elevator to help you up the two flights of stairs leading to the apartment. We had no trouble but some might. Be aware there is no TV, no wifi and not even a radio !! Satellite service was fair but planning day trips etc. was made difficult by lack of weather reports and route calculations...Service might depend on your phone plan - but for us, planning was difficult. Also - few wifi cafes anywhere in Tuscany. Do be aware of extra costs that might affect your holiday. First, there is a 500 euro CASH deposit required on arrival. Quite a chunk of our spending money. Although electricity is included, gas is not. For the two of us using the heating for the few hours a day we were in the apartment (it was cold) and doing no cooking, the charge was 104 euros for the week. Also, parking is not included. You must use the public parking which can sometimes be difficult to find in such a busy tourist area. Once we were forced to park a considerable distance away. Our daily/nightly parking charges in San Gimi totaled 160 euros for the week. Reading the listing carefully you will see that none of these "extras" are listed as included. Just be aware of how high the extra costs are and determine how that will affect your particular holiday. All in all a wonderful experience. The usual tourist crowds go away in the evenings and you are free to enjoy this ancient and beautiful city.

Brilliant location, spacious apartment, excellent hospitality.

Four friends (two couples) shared the apartment for a week. With 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms there was plenty of space. We cooked together in the kitchen, ate lunch on the terrace and dinner in the dining room and explored Tuscany from this very central position. We were warm and dry, the welcome from our host was charming and our stay was perfect. We had brought our own portable wifi - we suggest you do too.

San Girolamo - empfehlenswert

Das was zu großartig fehlt ist der Fernseher für Nachrichten und schlechtes Wetter. Dafür steht ein traumhaft schöner, offener Kamin zur Verfügung wofür das Holz schon vorbereitet dabei steht. Die Küchenausstattung und der Balkon sind super. Lediglich die Bäder sind ein wenig klein. Ansonsten sind alle Zimmer sehr großzügig. Wir werden gerne wiederkommen.

Wonderful location inside the walled city!!

The 7 of us found our Villa Apartment perfect for our all-but-too-short stay of 4 days in San Gimignano. I was mesmerized by the location in the walled city - could not have been more perfect. We had restaurants and Pizzerias plus the market, Bakery and wine shop at our fingertips. Our only "American hardship" was that the american coffee pot did not work, and another was not available. The apartment had lots of room, tons of HOT water, a nice stocked kitchen and the outside patio was a wonderful plus. Would highly recommend it if you would enjoy staying in an apartment that is hundreds of years old with history and charm.
