About this property

Four-season waterfront family lake house on pristine Embden Lake

Cozy, private, lakefront house on pristine Embden Lake in central Maine. Year-round, this is the place to be! This lake house is the perfect place to ski, snowmobile or ice fish from in the winter. In the summer, Embden Lake is the perfect place to swim, boat, hike, bike and just plain relax. In the fall, enjoy the crisp air and stunning foliage as the trees show their colors. The lake house enjoys mid-morning through evening sun and gorgeous sunsets from this east shore location. It's central Maine and western mountains location makes it an ideal base camp for outdoor activities.

Rentals are six nights with check-in on Monday and check-out on Sunday. For off-peak dates (September through May), we encourage you to request a booking as we can usually accommodate a shorter stay.

This peaceful, inviting 5 bedroom, 1.5 bathroom, lakefront home is the perfect spot for a family getaway or a couple’s retreat. This home boasts 100 feet of privately-owned waterfront on crystal clear spring-fed Embden lake and it's own large, private dock. Enjoy your morning coffee on the deck overlooking the lake, listening to the sounds of the loons. The large, private lot with mostly level grass lawn and and gradual water entry is excellent for kids and adults to play! The property includes a back, undeveloped, wooded lot for added privacy.

In the summer, swim, boat, kayak, hike, and bike by day, watch the gorgeous sunsets in the evening, and relax shoreside by the outdoor fire pit at night. Days are endless on Embden lake! The generous dock offers lots of room to sunbathe and stretch out over the crystal clear water, and the sloped lawn leads to a gradual entry into the water - perfect for young children. Explore the lake in the included kayaks, or relax with a good book in the hammock. Nearby hiking adventures are endless--many amazing mountains such as Sugarloaf, the Bigelow range, and Katahdin all within one-two hours drive. Cornhole boards and horseshoe pits offer hours of lakeside family entertainment.

In the winter, make your winter getaway complete with skiing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, and ice fishing just outside your front door. With Sugarloaf/USA and Saddleback ski resorts a 45-minute drive from the home, this is the perfect spot to relax after a day on the slopes. It’s the ultimate base lodge for snowmobilers with ITS 87 just outside the doorstep. Once the lake freezes over (usually by January 1st), the lake house becomes your ultimate ice fishing shack as you can watch your traps from the large windows and cozy warmth of the camp. Venture into the woods or out onto the frozen lake with your snowshoes or cross-country skis and explore Maine’s great outdoors.

In the fall, hiking and foliage are abundant in beautiful central and western Maine! Leaf-peepers will love striking out from this central Maine location to all the hot spots. The foliage on the lake is spectacular, especially when paired with a crimson sunset over the lake.

This open-concept lake home offers a living room and dining room area with cathedral ceilings and plenty of lake-front windows to fill the house with sunshine no matter what season. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you will need during your stay including all dishes, cooking pans, utensils, a dishwasher, Keurig machine, coffee maker, refrigerator with ice dispenser and microwave.

The two master bedrooms each feature a queen bed and bureau and share the upstairs full bath. The additional three bedrooms are nestled in the walkout basement and share a half bath. One has a queen bed, the second has one set of twin bunks and a twin, the third has a set of twin bunks and a full size bed.

Wonderful Lake House
Everything is so well thought out at this lake house that makes you feel right at home. We have stayed at many lake houses previously and this one hands down was our favorite. We had more than enough space and things to keep us busy. If you’re looking for a Great Lake house for larger families this one won’t disappoint.
