About this property

Experience Log Cabin Living on the Shores of Rangeley Lake

A charming early 1900's log cabin with a wood stove with sweeping views of Rangeley Lake. 125 feet from the shore. Wrap around deck, partially covered, with Adirondack chairs, porch swing and two picnic tables. Gas grill on porch. Fire pit.
There are 2 bedrooms with double beds and a loft with 2 single beds, ideal for younger folk. The bath has a claw foot tub with shower. Dishes, pots, pans, utensils, linens provided. DirecTV.
A non-motorized boat launch is available, shared waterfront access gradual entry ideal for swimming. Deck and dock at the center of the property shared with our other two cabins. Canoe, kayaks available for guests. Dock not suitable for mooring vessels due to prevailing winds.
Like many seasonal cabins on Rangeley, Awahnee draws its water from the lake. This is fine for dishes, showers, etc., but we recommend purchasing drinking water or obtaining it at a nearby spring (directions provided). Main heat source is Jotul fireplace. Space heaters also available to take the chill off.
Wildlife sightings including deer, loons and occasionally moose on the property. Surrounded by birch, spruce and maple trees. Lupine everywhere in late spring, early summer.
The town of Rangeley is a charming New England town. Many restaurants, gift shops, antiques, IGA grocery, farmer's market, fish truck from the coast twice a week, movie theater, ice cream stand, wonderful library, town park with boat launch. Historical museum in Oquossoc is not to be missed! Scenic drives, moose watching, many hikes of all levels, Appalachian Trial is ten miles from the cabin.
AVAILABLE MID-MAY-LATE OCTOBER.
PROPERTY IS ADJACENT TO PEARL COTTAGE (#217297) AND LOON COTTAGE (#217364) WHICH ARE ALSO LISTED WITH VRBO.
