Absolutely a perfect stay. Had everything anybody could want to enjoy a Wisconsin vacation. Right on the atv trail on the front side and lake out the back door, couldn’t ask for more.
Our family of four really enjoyed our stay. It was perfect for us to do some side by side riding as well as get some fishing in. George was even able to work with us on a last minute schedule change. Will be looking into making the trip again.
Beautiful updated cabin! Great view of the lake with easily accessible trail system. The hosts are easy to get in contact with, very accommodating, and very easy to get along with. We look forward to booking with them again in the future.
George was great to work with. Went out of his way to give us all the details about his beautiful cabin! We had a great week relaxing and fishing. Deer wandered through the yard multiple times throughout the day and we could hear loons calling from the lake. Very quiet neighborhood too. We will be back for sure!
My nine year old son is a fishing fanatic, so for Christmas his gift was a father/son ice fishing trip. This home has everything an entire family could ever want for an awesome up north getaway or long weekend. The owner was more than accomodating and was extremely helpful in helping us have an awesome trip. Next trip up north this will be the first place we look to stay. Thank you George! You helped make our trip a success!
Overall experience was fine, The place has a nice atmosphere and was clean and newly renovated, lake Nelson presented some good top water fishing this time of year. The place has two docks, one you're able to dock at, The place is located in a very very shallow Bay. The dock was new and did not have any tie downs or buoys - we brought are own, and was difficult to tie in for the evening. Getting to the dock, I did hit a few things and messed my prop up getting into the place despite trimming up. The landlord was a bit demanding about using water and electricity, as well as complaining about previous tenants which really had nothing to do with us. We brought our own water as the tap water was very smelly, The landlord did warn us about these things The day before we checked in. The bedrooms are set up with one having a queen bed and the other having a full bed and two bunk beds, which is tight for three people in one small bedroom, and the bunk beds are weirdly set up away from the wall and the top bunk being very close to the ceiling which gave one of my friends problems the whole weekend, probably fine for kids. I'd say this place would be better for two to three people instead of four for sure. Nelson is a great lake for lg bass and Pike but don't come here for walleyes. There is a bait shop close by called minnow Jim's which is very convenient. They have kayaks available but you have to pay an extra rental fee which I believe should be included when staying here. This place was rented out at a decent price compared to others and I think you get what you pay for, for the most part.
We loved staying at this house on the bay. While there was not a swimming shoreline, a quiet beach is about 10 minutes away for kids to swim. George was very communicative and it was a wonderful, relaxing week.
Owners put attention into every detail- comfortable, well appointed, relaxing retreat with abundant privacy and wildlife. Well- stocked, organized kitchen for cooking, and a great bay for kayaking and lake for boating and fishing. Great communication with owners. Pack your bags!
Home was very clean, everything you need is there, no need to pack all the extra some places don’t supply. George made himself very accessible and easy to talk to when needed. Great weekend.

A beautiful site with a wonderful updated cabin. The deer will greet you every morning.
We joined multiple brothers and sisters for a week on the lake. The house was great for relaxation, rest and more. The hosts really do take care of you -- before you arrive; while there; and after you depart.
Updated cottage in Hayward, WI You can see the owners have put a lot of time and attention into the remodeling and continue to keep it well maintained and very clean. Great location on Lake Nelson with a dock in the bay to tie your boat to or fish from. The fishing from the dock was very fun as there are a ton of fish in that lake. Great location, only a few minutes from downtown Hayward and moments from the water. Very clean well maintained great owners to work with. We would stay here again.
We had the best time at George & Heidi’s property! It was clean, well maintained and had all the amenities provided! They really took the time to figure out what people might need/want and ensure they had it! From puzzles to a fire pit to kayaks, George and Heidi thought of everything. George is so kind, quick to respond and super fun to chat with! I couldn’t have dreamed of a better experience! We will most definitely be coming back here!
