About this property

Lovely Waterfront Two Bedroom House

Lovely two bedroom, one bath in a rural residential area of McFarland on inlet that connects to Yahara River and Lake Kegonsa (house is not directly on lake or river). The home is situated next to a charming campground and marina in nature. Walkable fishing areas. Lake Kegonsa State Park Trail is nearby for walking or snowshoeing. Just a 15 minute drive to Madison! NO PARTIES. You will be asked to leave if there is any party activity seen.

My two bedroom home has one king bed and a bunk bed with a trundle bed. There is also sleeping space on the pull out couch in the living room. The home has a view out the back of a channel of water. There is Roku TV (no cable) in the living room and main bedroom. I also have a fully equipped kitchen with coffee and tea. There is not central air in the home, only window AC units and ceiling fans. Pets are NOT allowed. Smoking is NOT allowed. Only two vehicles are allowed.

*Check-In Details* I will meet you to give you a quick tutorial of my home and property and also give you the code for the keypad at this time.

Guests have access to entire house, except for garage. You may fish on the piers directly behind the house in the summer months. Do not walk on piers past where the RV trailers begin as it is private property. Do not walk on campground or campsites as it is private property and I don't own it. The owners will ask you to leave if you're on their property. Ice fishing is not allowed on the inlet. Guests are not allowed to walk on piers in winter months. Guests are not allowed to walk on ice. Please do not throw rocks on ice or water as it may cause damage to boats or props.

Additional guests that are not on the reservation are not allowed on the property. Visitors are not allowed on the property.

Boats and boat trailers are not allowed. We do not have a launch for kayaks, canoes, etc. There is a state of the art kayak launch just around the corner at Fish Camp County Park! Please let us know if you're planning on bringing any water equipment.

All types of trailers are not allowed on the property.

This house is very strict on loud parties. Quiet hours are from 10pm-8am. Other people live on the property and there are neighbors so please keep voices low and music at a respectful volume.

All forms of smoking are not tolerated. Fireworks are not allowed.

Do not hang anything on walls or windows. This includes decorations, wall hangings, etc.

Do not leave fire table unattended. Make sure fire is out before leaving unattended. We happily offer the fire table for your enjoyment at no extra charge. Please note, if more than 50% of the propane tank is used during your stay, a $35 refill fee will be applied. Thank you for your understanding!

The house is designed for a small family with young children. 4 adults is the max allowed.

Copy of government issued ID for each guest may be required to book. Guests must be at least 25 years old to book.

Home away from home

We were in the area for a funeral and needed a space to relax and offer support to our loved ones. Great location and exactly what we needed. Host provided snacks and it was clean and quaint!

This home looked just like the pictures and was spotless when we arrived. Check-in was seamless and Jordyn was very responsive to all inquiries. The hospitality touches made us feel very welcome. Highly recommend this rental if you're looking for something just south of Madison.

Perfect cozy spot

This house was exactly what we were looking for! It was nice and clean, cozy and quiet. The beds were very comfortable and we were able to relax during a busy weekend. It is close to downtown, and the drive to anywhere is so beautiful. The host was extremely easy to communicate with, and answered questions immediately. We were met at the house upon arrival and everything was explained in detail. Highly recommended this place if you are looking for somewhere to relax and enjoy…yet still be close to all the things to do in Madison and surrounding area!

Quiet comfortable refuge

This was a wonderful place to stay for my recent work trip in Madison. It was close enough to the city to be there quickly yet far enough away to be immersed in the nature of Wisconsin. The property was clean and quiet just what was needed after a days work. My host was very reachable and ensured I had all I needed (including letting me know where the tornado shelter was locally when storms threatened). Thanks so much for your hospitality!

Very comfortable stay convenient to Madison

My husband and I recently stayed at this property to visit family in the Madison area. It worked out perfectly . The interior of the house has obviously been totally renovated and was very clean and comfortable . And we liked that the location was more rural but still very convenient to all areas of Madison . The owner was very easy to work with and very responsive to any of our questions . Highly recommend .

A wonderful waterfront getaway close to Madison

Our stay was wonderful from start to finish, and even before the start. The host Jordyn was friendly and responsive throughout, and couldn't have been nicer. The cottage is clean and well-appointed with air conditioning and all the comforts of home, but on the water. For those interested, there is fishing off the dock just outside the door or at a nearby park. We had easy access to Madison for sight-seeing and then back to the cottage at night for a campfire while staring at millions of stars. We would absolutely stay here again if back in the area. Highly recommended.

Wonderful Experience

We had a great experience in this rental home. It's only 15 minutes from the Alliant Energy Center and in a quiet area. Beds and furniture were comfortable, although it could use a few more kitchen items, we got by just fine. Big plus: room darkening shades! After speaking to the owner of this property about our family's sunburns, she went out of her way to drop off a product she uses herself. Now that is great hospitality. Charming

Everything was great. Charming property with all the amenities you could ask for. Beds were really comfortable and so were the sheets and blankets. The furniture in living room was perfect to lounge while watching a movie. We were able to use the fire pit one night to cook our supper and dessert. Owner was quick to respond with any feedback needed, but the welcome book was well worded and pretty self explanatory for most things needed. Wonderful stay and if we were to vacation in the area again we would look to see if this property was available again.
