. Alain welcomes you to his holiday rental, which is attached to the main house (late 19th century) and has been recently restored to offer you the rustic comfort unique to our region. Here you’ll find the serenity of the Charente countryside in a quiet, bright, and tree-lined setting, as well as the joys of the seaside—the cottage is just a short distance from the beaches of Royan and the ocean (the Côte Sauvage). The owner will be happy to offer you advice! The Accommodation The 82-square-meter cottage is located at one end of a manor house dating back to 1880. The renovation was completed in early 2020.
You’ll enter through a private, separate entrance. It’s set in a large wooded park (over 4,000 m²), which you’ll have all to yourselves, and where you can easily park several cars.
The accommodation consists of two large bedrooms: - The first features a 160 x 200 Victoria canopy bed with a bathroom, sink, and toilet.
- The second has two 80 x 200 beds placed side by side, forming a 160 x 200 bed (which can be separated into two single beds), with a shower, sink, and toilet.
A 70 x 160 children’s bed is available upon request.
Bedding, a bathtub, and a high chair for babies are available.
Sheets, bath towels, and tea towels are provided.
Each bedroom includes:

The magnificent 12th-century Sablonceaux Abbey is less than 3 km away via pleasant, quiet country roads.
The stones used in its construction came from … a vast underground quarry beneath the property … The German Army used this quarry to set up an … underground hospital in anticipation of a possible Allied landing at Royan … which never took place. This site also has an unusual history, linked … to aeronautics and the history of aviation! … It’s up to you to discover it... !
