Tucked away in the middle of the Chequamegon National Forest is the delightful community of Clam Lake. Majestic pines, cluster birch, and a quiet lake provide the backdrop for our beautiful hand-hewn log home. This is a truly unique home and property! Our home is situated on our own 16 acre peninsula, surrounded by water on delightful Beaver Lake, a small refuge for waterfowl and wildlife. There is only one other property on the lake so privacy is yours. Rustic but not primitive, this home has five bedrooms (including a loft), and three bathrooms. It comfortably sleeps ten. The main floor has a large, well-equipped professional kitchen with Viking stainless dishwasher, range, and refrigerator/freezer. The kitchen is stocked with enough cookware, appliances and utensils for even the most discriminating gourmet cook. A sunny eating area with its handmade rustic pine plank table seats ten or more, and looks out over the deck and lake beyond.
The great room has a large gas fireplace, custom Old Hickory furniture, cable TV, wireless high speed internet and a DVD player. Windows facing the lake extend two stories for fabulous views of the lake and surrounding woods. Old Hickory and antique furniture is inter-mixed with comfortable seating throughout the first floor. Off of the great room is a sunny all season porch facing the lake with two story windows on three sides. It is truly a spectacular room and a favorite of our guests. The main floor has 2 charming bedrooms, one with a bunk bed, and the other a double. Both rooms are furnished with handmade log furniture and wool throw rugs. Out the back door is a deck, which is a nice spot for viewing the lake while sipping morning coffee or an evening drink. Seating is provided at a comfortable dining table with an umbrella.
Upstairs there is a master suite loft with a king bed, en suite bath with a double shower, leather chairs and a private deck. A wall of windows provide memorable views across the lake year round. The loft area is a treat in itself. Downstairs there are two knotty pine bedrooms warmly decorated with a Northwoods theme and handmade beds. They share a newly finished full bathroom. The downstairs is also home to our large game room with a pool table, game table, and foosball table. We also have a large collection of children's toys and games. The laundry area is in the basement as well.
The natural beauty of the woods can be enjoyed inside or out. A large stone firepit complete with seating overlooks the wetlands and sunsets across the lake. The lake can be enjoyed by non-motorized watercraft only. A canoe, large paddle boat and paddle boards are provided. A large wetland at the opposite end of the lake is a summer breeding ground for many waterfowl including wood ducks, sandhill cranes, Canada geese and even bald eagles. The entire house is surrounded by extensive gardens that bloom into fall. Several trails are cut through the property for a short walk or simply walk down to the forest road for a quiet stroll through the woods. Across the lake are snowmobile and ATV trails that hooks up to literally hundreds of miles of trails through the wilderness. The surrounding area is filled with year-round outdoor activities. At the end of the day, you can return to the peace and solitude of Beaver Lake... or simply never leave!

Overall great stay at the cabin. Enjoyed the fire, fishing, and swimming. Couldn't find the paddle board, but the canoe and paddle boat were fun. Lots of room inside. No major issues. Would stay again!
My husband and I had a great relaxed time at the Lodge. Everything was clean and comfortable. The property manager was so sweet when we checked in. Loved our stay!
This was our annual family vacation and we have to say it's probably one of the more beautiful locations we've stayed. So peaceful and secluded - the first day there we saw elk right across the water which was amazing! We actually saw elk a few more times as well over the week.Alyssa was AMAZING and super helpful. Quick to respond to any questions we had. We actually had a power outage one night and never even realized it because the generator kicked in and never disrupted a thing. So much fun fishing (if you like bass fishing you'll love it here!), kayaking, relaxing, exploring. (There are beautiful waterfalls not too far away as well) We would absolutely stay again. Thank you for sharing your amazing property with us!

Quiet lake house on a beautiful property. Perfect place for a family vacation.
Everything was in wonderful condition. Rooms very homey and comfortable. Our little grandchildren enjoyed riding their bikes in the driveway and the basketball hoop was a great surprise for mom's and dad's. Thanks for the great week in Clam lake..
This was our second time visiting this property during winter and this cabin was exceptional as well as the property. Due to the warmer temperatures this year, we were able to have a winter fire in the firepit by the lake. Also, we saw no less than twenty beautiful elk and deer this year. Truly a memorable winter stay.
Wonderful property for a family vacation! It is located on a peninsula so you have the lake on three sides. The family had a great time fishing, paddle boating, kayaking, swimming, playing games, shooting pool, and grilling/cooking meals together. Great space with decks, porches, pier, beach area, trails, fire pit, swimming platform, and plenty of outside and inside area to play! One of the top places we have enjoyed!!
Our 3 generation family loved this cabin and are excited to return! The cabin is spacious and clean. We enjoyed swimming, yard games, and using the canoe. Our family favorite was definitely the fire pit. We had some surprise cold summer weather and used it all day. Even when there wasn’t a fire going we would sit there to enjoy the beautiful view of the lake. Great family vacation!
This was our second stay at this property and we absolutely loved it! It was clean, spacious, and perfect for 3 generations to gather. We loved the privacy and the beauty of the property, and were very impressed with how quickly the driveway was plowed when it snowed. The highlight was the eight elk who visited almost every day, with more than one visit some days, and occasionally some whitetail deer. Can’t wait to go back!
Thoroughly enjoyed even though the fishy weren't biting! Well equipped home and beautiful peaceful setting . Only issue was the large amount of flying and dead flies found upstairs in loft. Think area possibly sprayed before arrival but would have been nice if they could have been swept up before arrival. All in all, a perfect weekend!
This place was lovely and offered lots to do. Canoeing, hiking, golf were some of the more physical activities. However, there's ample space for settling in with a good book, sunbathing or just staring into space and watching critters. All worthy efforts. Dining opportunities were a bit slim, partially due to staffing problems, but there are still places to dine, especially supper. Recommended.
Our stay at Beaver Lake Lodge was so peaceful and tranquil. The house is absolutely fabulous; everything is quality, the log home, the furnishings, the grounds, gardens, fire pit, the lake, even a well maintained secret path.
Our family enjoyed our stay and hope to come back in the future. We have stayed at many homes but this one was the best yet. We had plenty of space for our 3 generations of family, we fell in love with everything this property had to offer and there is so much to enjoy. I was so happy to see my grandchildren having a wonderful time with all the amenities.
Leigh Ann the owner and Julie the property manager were so friendly and accommodating. I felt relaxed, at peace and blessed that the owners shared their special peace of paradise with others. I will always cherish the memories of this idyllic sanctuary.
My husband and I stayed for a weeklong family getaway with our 4 adult children plus their spouses/signif others and a baby. This cabin suited us perfectly! With five bedrooms, there was enough space for everyone, though we did bring a queen air mattress due to one of the rooms having a double bed. The master BR fills the loft--it is very spacious with great views and a deck, but it is open to below so there is noise if others stay up later.
The cabin was clean and the kitchen was well-stocked with dishes, pans, glassware, and cooking utensils, etc. Items that were not included but would have been nice to have on hand were tin foil, larger ziploc bags (to take our leftovers home), and basics such as sugar and coffee. The bathrooms did not have shampoo, conditioner, or body wash, so you will want to bring your own.
The property itself was wonderful! It felt like we were on an island because the lake surrounds the cabin on three sides. We used the canoe, paddleboard and swimming raft quite a lot. We caught a variety of small fish from the dock and canoe--fishing esp. good at sundown. The firepit area is lovely--all stone--and overlooks the lake. No firewood--it would have been nice to have a bundle or two provided for us.
We found free pickleball courts about 20min away at Silverthorne Lk Pk and rented a pontoon also 20min away at Mystic Moose Resort for just $250/day. The girls went horseback riding at Spider Lake Ranch.
Overall this cabin was fantastic for us!
A very peaceful and quiet location. Tons of wildlife. Plenty of fish to catch in the lake. Tons to do in the area from hiking Copper Falls State Park to go-karting and Lumberjack shows in Hayward. Julie the host was very easy to work with. Check in was a very simple process. The cabin was very spacious and rustic.
However..... The cabin was filthy!
Master bedroom bed sheets had stains.
Master bedroom shower had a loose valve shower handle.
Dishwasher didnt clean dishes at all(we had to rewash most dishes by hand)
Stove top was dirty and covered in grease.
Oven didnt cook evenly.
Non stick frying pans were pretty much shot due to non stick coating chipped off (were horrible to cook with).
Downstairs smoke detector went off 2 nights in a row. New battery didnt seem to work.
Landscaping around cabin needs attention. A lot of over grown bushes in front of deck railing. Hard to even see the lake. There was a rose bush overhanging the deck railing on table side. We couldnt even take advantage of the full table due to the rose bush was covered with thick thorns.
To top things off the deck grill started on fire. With the poor cleaning of the grill, any caked on grease at the bottom of the grill caught fire and we used a fire extinguisher to put out the fire. Not to mention the grease catch was also full of grease. Grill brushes had almost no bristles left.
Clean and fix your stuff people! We pay good money to stay at these places and this is what you get.
So much potential here!
We have stayed at over a dozen VRBO properties in the last 10 years, either with family or friends. This is the only place we have chosen to come back again a second time and would do so a third.
This property has it all. We love to cook so the superb kitchen was perfect. It wasn't seasonal to utilize the fireplace but can imagine how inviting it would be on chilly or cold days/nights.
This spacious "cabin" that allowed for indoors games, private areas, a huge dining table and 3 bathrooms (esp with 3 teens) was so much appreciated.
We ranged from age 10 to 74 and each one of us felt at home and found extras from books, to games and more to help entertain.
We enjoyed the deck every day. We did wish there was another table so the whole family could eat there together.
The two docks with canoe and new paddle boat gave room for the swimmers, kayaks and rafts so as not to interfere with those fishing.
Some took early morning walks and saw wildlife each time. Not running into a bear or elk was okay but certain would have made those walks extremely exciting.
We had an unexpected situation arise just prior to our check in that the owner graciously helped us resolve - so very thankful.
Julie, the property manager, was very helpful and accommodating. She checked in on us after we were settled and called to let us know of a repairman coming and also another service person ahead of time. The home and the grounds were very well maintained and clean.
The laundry facilities were appreciated with our group!!! The pool table a plus.
Everything in and on this property was top notch. And the welcoming gift of s'mores fixin's and sticks hit it off with young and old alike.
Thank you for the opportunity to stay here once again. Kudos to the owners and to the staff.

GREAT FAMILY TIME ~ GREAT LOCATION ~ NOT SO GREAT WEATHER
We had a wonderful time at beautiful Beaver Lake Lodge. Our 2nd year and the property did not disappoint. Even with the rainy weather the lodge was big enough that all 9 nine of us had space for alone time and when playing games, working on a puzzle and family meals there was enough space to comfortably be together. Thank you again for a wonderful week!
If you are looking for a private secluded beautiful get away with family this is your destination!
From our check in with Julie to any questions along the way her response was immediate. Loved the conversation with the owner about the wildlife on property as well as great restaurant recommendations! This destination is a true gem. Gardens were spectacular!

Beautiful setting and very clean! Loved the spaciousness and number of activities available to us. Paddle boating, canoeing, fishing, swimming, pool table in basement. Many books and games provided. We brought paddle boards that we used on the very quiet side of the property. Perfect because we are beginners. I highly recommend this vacation spot!! Jolyn
We had a wonderful time. The Cabin /Lodge was exactly as listed but exceeded our expectations! From our 3 year old Grandson, 5 & 7 year old Granddaughters and 10 year old Grandson, their parents and Jama, and Papa. Really enjoyed the park like setting on the semi private lake. Please drive slow on your way into and out of the Driveway as there were Deer and Elk on both sides at times. There was a White Swan , Beaver, Muskrat and several Loons that were seen during our stay. Also the Grandchildren enjoyed fishing and swimming nearly every day. The Raft, Canoe and Paddle Boat were a big hit as well. The Fire Pit was great and the S'mores were delicious. We can not express how grateful we are to have been able to rent this beautiful property. Thank you so much to Leigh Ann, and her fantastic Property Managers Julie and Bud
It was absolutely lovely. We wanted to be on a quiet lake where we could just relax and have privacy. This fit the bill wonderfully. The house was spacious and beautiful, had lovely amenities, and even the weather was glorious!

About the host
Hosted by Alyssa Knutson
We are family of 6 and lovers of nature and privacy. All 4 of our children have grown up visiting and playing in the Northwoods all of their life. Over the past years we have gradually made improvements to this beautiful space, both indoors and out. We have welcomed multi-generational families for 20 years. We also own 2 small cottages on a very private beach in the Bahamas if you are looking for a romantic getaway for two.
Why they chose this property
We looked for many years for a lake property in WI. While we love the water, a quiet, secluded spot is what we were looking for. This property far exceeded our expectations. A 16 acre peninsula on a semi private lake- perfection!. The year round quiet is only interrupted by the trumpet of the trumpeter swans, slapping of the beavers as they cross the lake, evening call of the loons, and bugling of elk during fall mating season.
What makes this property unique
Besides the privacy and beauty of the property itself, my 2 favorite features are the hand hewn logs used to make the cabin, and the variety of wildlife we see. We recently renamed the property Elk Point Lodge for a good reason- the elk! Its not unusual to see elk grazing in the open meadow shortly after you turn onto the property and in the winter have been seen bedding down under the white pine trees near the house.
