## Emplacement The 2nd arrondissement of Paris is one of the historical financial centers of Europe, being home to the former Stock Exchange which is now called Brongniart Palace. Other major activities in the neighborhood are journalism and fashion. The 2nd is also famous for its Sainte-Anne street, known to Parisians as a haunt for typical Japanese restaurants and shops. The 2nd arrondissement is also home to the galleries -- traditional covered passages lined with shops -- which are quite possibly the prototypes of today's shopping malls. While the previously mentioned activities are all daylight activities, the eastern end of the arrondissement - notably the charming rue Montorgueil - has an entirely different reputation, younger and more dynamic.
## Transports Subway : Line 3 (Sentier station): 2 minutes on foot. Lines 4, 8 and 9 (Strasbourg Saint-Denis station): 5 minutes on foot.
Bus : Lines 20 and 39 (Sentier station): 2 minutes on foot. Line 32 (Poissonnière - Bonne Nouvelle station): 4 minutes on foot.
From Paris-Orly airport: 43 minutes by car. From Gare du Nord station: 13 minutes by metro.

Timely response from the host with regards to inquiries. The apartment is clean. As previously posted, be careful with the stairs (there's nothing wrong with it) - I just think this would not be suitable for elderly or large people.
Location was wonderful, Pictures made the place look much bigger. This was made worse with the damaged sofabed that could not be folded up. No room to walk around let alone put luggage.
It is a unique unit bedroom is underground.
Stairs down to bedroom not suitable for anyone with mobility issues.
Area is terrific plenty of shopping, attractions within 20 minutes. Price was reasonable and well taken care of unit.
The apartment is conveniently located close to various tourist spots, public transportation, and restaurants. Within a short walk there’s a lane with a bee-hive of activity and restaurants faring cuisines from all over the world. The apartment is small, but functional. Be careful on the narrow, steeply angled stairway though. The location is safe, and the metro station is a short hop away. You will not be disappointed.
As others have indicated the place is tiny. The steps are very steep. The location excellent as most museums are within a 25-30 min walk or short subway ride. Unfortunately when we opened the door we were assaulted with a smell of mold. Opening the only window on the door did not offer a solution as the garbage cans are directly outside the door. The Concierge came over two days later and found molding towels under the kitchen sink. There is a dehumidifier downstairs that you will need to empty every 12 hours or so. It also puts out heat from top of it! The bedding did not smell very nice. There is a nightclub around the corner that somehow ends up being below the basement of the building this apartment is in. On the weekends you can hear the noise of the music and the crowd.

Claustrophobic with reeking garbage
BEWARE! The impression one gets from the VRBO website about this apartment is misleading. One enters the building through two locked gates. Past the second gate one encounters scaffolding and serious degradation of the building walls leading one to wonder about the structural integrity of the building. One continues past the scaffolding and down a corridor. At the end of the corridor one turns left into the “courtyard” only to discover that the “courtyard” is the repository for five reeking garbage cans just outside the entry door to the apartment. Since the only outside ventilation to the apartment is a window above the door, one can enjoy the festering smell during the entire stay. The inside of the apartment is stifling and claustrophobic. The only natural light comes from the aforementioned window above the entry door and one small, filthy skylight. The VRBO website shows a “cozy” picture of the bedroom. However, this” cozy” bedroom is down a very steep ladder/stair into an unventilated, damp, claustrophobic cellar with no natural light. We could not stay in this place and had to find new dwelling while in Paris. Unfortunately, since we had arrived at the check-in date, neither VRBO nor the host would refund our money despite the misleading advertisement.
