Granite Peak (#630) | Deck, Fireplace - Golf/ Pool/Hot Tub/Fitness

Granite Peak at Tamarron Resort (HighPoint #630) is our 2 bedroom, 1.5 bathroom luxury condo featuring a full kitchen, gas fireplace, and large private deck with the best views. Wifi speeds are appx 50 mbps. Our Tamarron rental guests can play Glacier's 18-hole Valley Course at an exclusive discounted rate. Details will be provided in your rental instructions.

This 1400 sq ft condo boasts spectacular views of the Valley golf course, San Juan Mountains, blue mountain skies, and a demanding view of the Valley cliff. Evenings, while relaxing on your private deck, you may see Elk making their way down the Valley cliff. This condo was renovated in 2022, during which time the bathrooms and flooring were updated and a new rock fireplace installed with a mounted 65inch TV for a great entertainment viewing experience. The kitchen has high-end appliances along with cooking and dining essentials. The upstairs Master Suite is lovely with a king bed and an on-suite bath. The large open loft is cozy with a queen bed and office area, and access to the upstairs bathroom. The bathroom on the main level has a walk-in shower. The washer and dryer are upstairs.

The main living area and the loft benefit from air conditioning; the master bedroom upstairs has an evaporative cooler as well as large operable windows to provide cool, fresh air on summer nights, but does not have air conditioning.

ON-SITE AMENITIES AT THE LODGE INCLUDE: indoor pool, outdoor heated pool, outdoor hot tub, sauna, steam shower, fitness center, golf at a special discounted rate, tennis, pickleball, playground, 3 on-site restaurants, and event center. There is an EV Charging Station available for guest use in the Valley Clubhouse parking lot, adjacent to the Tamarron Lodge. Our Tamarron rental guests can play Glacier's 18-hole Valley Course at an exclusive discounted rate. Details will be provided in your rental instructions. There is a $20 per person ski shuttle to purgatory on weekends - tickets must be purchased in advance and the pick-up location is in the Valley Clubhouse parking lot.

LOCATION: Tamarron sits at around 7800 feet in elevation and is just 10 minutes south of Purgatory Ski Resort and 20 minutes north of downtown Durango. Many guests stay here to visit Purgatory Ski Resort, which offers a variety of restaurants, winter and summer activities, and festivals/events.

Please note, due to HOA regulations, this unit, and all of the units at Tamarron, DO NOT allow pets.

Trailers are discouraged as there is very limited, designated space to park trailers - if you plan to bring one, please inquire first.
AWD or 4WD or tire chains is recommended in Winter (Dec-Mar).

Book at least a week and a 10% discount is automatically applied (Excludes Christmas/New Years).

Great townhome with wonderful views. It had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The only negatives were the guest bedroom sheets smelled of vomit so we had to change them out. And the complimentary shampoo/lotion were half used. Other than that, it was a great stay.

Great family lodging

This is a secluded, quiet mountain getaway that is close to rafting., horseback riding, and both Durango and Silverton. The condo was immaculate and well-equipped for our family summer vacation! My husband and I especially enjoyed the wonderful cool morning views from our balcony.

Perfect Get-away for our family of 4

We had a wonderful time at this property. It was very quiet despite being a holiday weekend. The views are wonderful. Loved sitting outside in the morning drinking coffee and watching the humming birds. The unit if very functional - great kitchen, comfortable beds. The big screen in the living room was fun for watching movies in the evening. Our kids loved having access to the indoor and outdoor pools.

Beautiful and Private Place with amazing scenery

My husband and I took our daughter and 2 year old grandson to the mountains to get out of the Texas heat and keep them distracted while our son-n-law is deployed. What a beautiful place you have nestled in the mountains. Location is perfect, scenery amazing, so peaceful, loved watching the hummingbirds, blue jays, chipmunks etc. Place was fully stocked. Our only complaint was the upstairs was hot but that certainly didn’t keep us from enjoying it and will totally come back and rent the same place again. We had a blast while there, weather was perfect! Thanks for sharing your beautiful place.

Christmas Vacation

This property was wonderful! The view, the location, privacy, everything was great! Only complaint is the water pressure was non existent sometimes, so if a nice long hot shower is important to you, you'll find that disappointing. We also weren't ever able to get the upstairs TV to work. We didn't call anyone to get either of those issues fixed, we were so tired by the time we got in bed we were fine without the tv upstairs and I didn't want to bother anyone over Christmas about the water pressure. We just made it work. Overall, our trip was great and we loved this condo!

Cleaning issues-big time!

The unit wasn’t ready at check-in. Even though it is a pet free rental, the cleaning lady had her dog with her while cleaning! Pet hair everywhere you sat and wet dog urine spot on the upstairs carpet! The cleanliness of the 3 VRBO units we rented on this trip make me question the whole process of by owner short term rentals. I wouldn’t accept a room this dirty at a hotel.

Master Bedroom Fiasco

The owners/VRBO listing showed window coverings in the Master Bedroom; THAT IS CLEARLY A FALSE DEPICTION! Upon arrival we found NO WINDOW COVERINGS IN THE MASTER BEDROOM, NONE! We couldn’t use that portion of the back patio because there was zero privacy. The rod/coverings had been removed and the holes in the wall above the windows had been repaired. After talking to the property mgr she sent some patricians over but they were not effective at keeping any daylight out, even with blankets we draped over them. My wife and I were awakened at sunrise our first two mornings. We then purchased temporary coverings and put them up ourselves. The property mgr refunded only $400.00! I thought she should certainly have done much more!

Purgy Ski Vaca at Tamarron

This property is excellent! It is very clean and well appointed. Plenty of kitchenware for whatever you need! Essentials were provided (enough so that we did not need to buy TP, paper towels, soap, Landry detergent, etc). Loved the gas fireplace! Bathrooms and kitchen appeared recently remodeled. Furniture was very good. The beds were very comfortable. Tamarron is perfect! Access to indoor/outdoor pools, hot tub, sauna, and gym was fantastic. All very nice and super clean!! The snow removal was beyond! They require 4WD or AWD which makes sense as the complex is hillly. But the snow removal was on point and we had no trouble in an AWD KIA SUV rental. The restaurant on property “Mineshaft” has fantastic food and a full bar. This was perfect as we endured the several feet snowstorm that came in midway thru the week. We didn’t have to leave the complex for happy hour and dinner! We skied Purgatory all week which was awesome! Tamarron is a 10min drive from Purgatory. They do offer a free shuttle run by Purgatory. Pick up was 8:20AM and pick up on the mountain to bring you back was 4:30pm. Only negative was these are the ONLY times the shuttle runs. So if u wanna leave the mountain early..you’re outta luck with the free shuttle. I definitely recommend renting a car for staying at Tamarron. Going into Durango…the opposite direction is about 20 min drive. Walking along Main St going in and out of the shops in Durango was fun! Fortunately, the road to Purgy/Durango gets a ton of snow plowing and stayed in great shape despite the feet of snow we got. Don’t miss the Durango Hot Springs! We would not hesitate to stay here again. Thanks so much for a memorable ski vacation!

Glacier Resort Highlands Beauty!

An extraordinarily beautiful mountain/mesa view condo in the Highlands section of Glacier resort about 20 minutes North of Durango. This modern, spacious, professionally decorated condo was comfortable, relaxing and an ideal Durango area vacation base for our family. A peaceful private location away from the noise and crowds and perfectly situated for our summer excursions to Durango, Mesa Verde, Silverton and Ouray. It’s also about 10 minutes from Purgatory Ski resort. This condo is even better in person than in the pictures - large master bedroom on the first floor with on suite modern bathroom, open and airy loft and large bedroom on the second floor, cozy living room with fireplace and comfortable furniture, good kitchen well stocked and functionally designed, and a large deck/patio with great views and lots of hummingbirds! Loved our stay and look forward to returning!

We had a wonderful stay! It is a beautiful condo in a great location with a perfect view. The only reason we deducted a star is due to the disposal. It was not working at all, had no power, we discovered our first night. We called the front desk to report the issue and the maintenance person on call came out immediately to look at it. Unfortunately, the disposal needed a part ordered and was not able to be repaired during our time there. Communication, however, was lacking after the initial inspection. I certainly understand that no one has any control over part delivery times. No one, however, communicated anything to us regarding the repair status. I called the first two days looking for an update and stopped there after…. It was a little uncomfortable not knowing if someone was going to show up at any moment to do the repair. I reminded them again at check out.

Excellent Getaway to the Rockies

My wife found this property and I am so.glad she did. It is just outside of Durango and convenient driving distance to Silverton and Mesa Verde. We enjoyed the view from the balcony and the hummingbirds that visited the feeder there. Our main regret was that we did not book more time at this location. We'll be back!
