The Neighborhood:
This beautiful cabin is located in the Mountain Shadows Resort. There is an outdoor, seasonal pool and a playground for guests to enjoy. The cabin is very convenient to downtown Gatlinburg (a 10-minute drive) and several entrances to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, giving you easy access to hiking, scenic drives, and outdoor adventure.
Getting Around:
We recommend 4x4 wheel drive anywhere in the Great Smoky Mountains. The cabin features paved roads all the way up and is easy to reach in good weather, but 4x4 is always a good idea—especially during rain or winter conditions.
Other Things to Note:
• Must be 21 or older to book this cabin.
• This cabin sleeps 4 guests maximum.
• Gas fireplace is seasonal and typically operates from October–March, weather permitting.
• Coffee maker is both Keurig and drip—please bring your preferred coffee or K-Cups.
• 4x4 drive is recommended for mountain travel.
• There is active construction on a small cabin next door. While we have no control over the work, the builders have maintained a clean and respectful workspace.
• Hot tub is drained, sanitized, and refilled between each guest stay. It may need time to reach full temperature on the check-in day.
• Starter supplies of toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, and laundry detergent are provided.
• Guests agree to use the website messenger for all communication, even if initial contact is made by another method.
• Bears and all types of wildlife are very common in the area! Do not feed or bother the bears or wildlife! Please leave them alone. We have no control over wildlife. They are very protected here and part of our area. Secure your belongings and always lock vehicle doors.
• We have monthly pest control at all of our cabins. Being in the Great Smoky Mountains, we are surrounded by nature and wildlife. Ladybugs, millipedes, and other insects can be difficult to combat around this time of year, even with our constant pest control program in place. It is not uncommon to see them occur in and around the cabin/condo, especially with the opening and closing of doors. This is extremely common for the area and all cabins/condos.
• Property Access: Your privacy is important to us. While we do not anticipate needing to access the property during your stay, authorized management, maintenance, housekeeping, or service personnel may occasionally need to enter for inspections, repairs, maintenance, safety concerns, or emergencies. Whenever reasonably possible, we will make every effort to notify you in advance. If we are unable to reach you, do not receive a response, or immediate access is reasonably necessary, authorized personnel may enter after knocking and announcing themselves, or immediately in the event of an emergency, as permitted by applicable law. We will always respect your privacy and strive to minimize any disruption to your stay.
• Being in the mountains, wind can sometimes blow leaves, dirt, or other natural debris into the hot tub. The hot tub has been drained and cleaned to ensure it’s ready for use.

Accurate representation of pictures and host descriptions. Small driveway/parking area; not necessarily an issue for us just something I noticed.

Thank you for your feedback. We are glad to hear that our listing accurately reflected your experience. We appreciate you noting the parking area and hope to welcome you back again.
We loved staying here. Unit is clean and spacious for 2 people. Located in a peaceful forest setting but just a short drive to downtown. Tip: if you’re looking for a bite to eat but want to avoid the craziness of downtown Gatlinburg, I highly recommend Crystelle Creek restaurant which is just a 2 minute drive down the hill.

We had such a fantastic time staying at the Boring Bear!! The location was perfect, not too far from downtown Gatlinburg, but not too close either for the touristy parts. The cabin is so cute and cozy!! The hot tub was MUCH needed after our daily hikes. This cabin has pretty much everything you need to feel at home. We would love to return!!

Thank you very much for your wonderful review. We're delighted you found the charm and coziness just right and that everything met your expectations. We look forward to having you stay with us again soon.
We had a wonderful stay at this cabin! It was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. The peaceful setting made it the perfect place to relax, and we appreciated all the thoughtful touches that made us feel at home. The cabin was well-stocked, the beds were comfortable, and everything we needed was provided. One of our favorite things was the location—it was close to everything we wanted to do, yet it still felt like we were away from it all. The host was friendly, responsive, and made the entire process easy. Our only issue wasn't with the cabin itself, but with grocery shopping in town. There's only one grocery store, and it was extremely busy—we waited about 40 minutes just to check out. We wish we had known ahead of time so we could have done our grocery shopping before arriving. If you're planning a stay, it's something to keep in mind.We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a quiet and enjoyable getaway.

Thank you so much for your kind words. We're delighted to hear you enjoyed the peaceful setting and felt at home, and we appreciate your helpful tip about grocery shopping—it's great to know how we can make future stays even smoother. We'd love to host you again anytime!
Well appointed clean cabin with well-stocked kitchen. We enjoyed staying here for 5 nights. Bed was very comfortable as was the sofa. Cabin is close to Gatlinburg and also to free trolley stops that will take you into Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and the park. Quiet community. We did see a bear in the community but it didn’t come close to our cabin and seemed very uninterested. Perfect for 2 people.

Liked: Check-in, communication, location
Disliked: Cleanliness
Getting there was nice . Washer needs cleaned or something because it was nasty . Floor had stuff on it . Cabin was nice but needs a better cleaner to make sure there is nothing on the floors and washer is being cleaned out . Fridge makes noises. The same night there was cops at the cabin next to it . Which was a long night with lights . Didn’t realize someone was right next to our cabin in till we got there . Host communicated very well before the trip .
