Best vrbo ever! Beautiful location, well appointed kitchen, gorgeous views, deck and dock, comfortable bedrooms and snore box a plus. Super responsive host. Would 100% book again!
Beautiful house, in a beautiful setting. Tidewatch is a fabulous place for a holiday. Even though it was too cold to sit outside, the inside setting was stunning with surrounding windows and a great area / equipment to cook.
We loved the beautiful on the water location of this cottage on the quiet side of Acadia Natl Park. A very unique lay out with spectacular water views all around. Lots of activities in this area.
The location is beautiful and quiet. Home was as pictured and very clean. Deck was great and views from the living room were perfect. I was concerned that the drive to Acadia would be too far to beat the crowds, but learned everything is close on the island so we had no issues. I would highly recommend this location.
The property was perfect for a 1-week stay for a family of 6 adults. We were able to prepare several meals in the large kitchen to allow for multiple cooks. The views from every window allowed us to enjoy the sights and sounds of Bass Harbor, adding to memories of a wonderful vacation. The Snore Box was a big hit! Thank you for sharing your home with us.
Our family had a fabulous experience at Tide Watch! Every window offered a view of Bass Harbor & the deck and furnishings could not have been a better place to enjoy time as a family! We appreciated the new grill, the beautiful well supplied kitchen, roomy natural wood table and overall decor. The beds are comfortable and the Snore Box is adorable! As always, Mt Desert Island and its beauty and charm never dissapoint!
We loved this house sitting on Bass Harbor, watching the dramatic tide change from the ample deck and gas fire pit or windowed large room. The home is well stocked and updated and says “Maine”. Owner communicated ceryxwell
This is truly a special home on the water in Maine. It allowed us to experience the habitat of that little cove in ways that would not have been possible in other rental houses: to be part of the ocean tide as it cycled through each day, to watch the birds, to find the frogs and slugs in the woods, to sleep in the napping cabin in the rain. We felt so lucky to have found it and stayed there. It will be in our family memory always.
Tidewatch is a great cottage with INCREDIBLE views. We spent so much time on the deck and dock just enjoying the views. The firepit was an awesome feature and we enjoyed it with a view of the water and stars several nights. We loved the big open living area and spent most of our time there. The kids enjoyed their breakfast at the counter and the adults loved the big table. Many rounds of Rack-o and Exploding Kittens were played at that big table, too! We also appreciated the many lighting options for the main area.We needed a couple things during our stay and Ingrid's response time was amazing. Super fast and helpful!!PROS: being on the water and watching the wildlife, big dining table, fire pit, open area and our party of 8 never felt crowded.CONS: no fish to catch :(, the driveway is very steep and hard to get back up and one of our 3 cars had to back all the way up to get a "running start" :) The bed in the snore box is best just for one person. It's a full-sized bed (which my husband and I have shared before) but it's a stiff mattress and every time one of us moved it woke the other one up. I ended up sleeping on the couch the whole week... which was thankfully comfortable all things considered. Favorite local spots to eat were Beal's and Thurston's ... and the Clark Point Cafe is INCREDIBLE. Best croissant I've had outside of France. Wonderland trail is a favorite nearby walk, (and easily managed with our 4 seniors) and Ship Harbor is our other nearby walk.
I can’t say enough about how much we loved this property. It has always been a bucket list item for me to go to MDI/Acadia and I was fortunate enough to save up enough and take my wife, parents and sister! The property was beautiful, right on the tidal basin so we got to see the complete fluctuation of a empty bay teeming with life (basically birds feasting on shellfish) as well as the beauty and serenity of the higher tide. Peaceful and serene doesn’t quite describe the vibe! The inside of the house was well kept and had a great vide and beautiful upstairs for entertaining. Perfect house for2 couples and 2 singles or 3 couples and 2 singles (if one of the couples is okay with sleeping in a beautiful/cozy detached cabin and using the main house for water). Ingrid and John were responsive and friendly and we loved staying with them. Would 100% stay here again if we go back. Property only and easy/beautiful 20-25 minute drive from downtown bar harbor. And minutes from southwest harbor. Thank you again!!!!
The views were relaxing and beautiful, eagle visited a few days. The home is fully stocked and ready for your enjoyment. Beds are comfortable, plenty of blankets, pillows and linens for all 5 of us. Could have used a few more hand towels in the kitchen. Seating in kitchen and living room is adequate be careful of the rugs they were slippery. We did have an issue with the grill, one guest prefers meat and tried to cook multiple times on the grill with no luck, just not hot enough to sear. The side burner worked great for the lobster!! One our last night there was a terrible storm, had to latch all windows water was coming in, we lost power, and it did not come back on before we had to check out. We have stayed in 4 other Maine homes and this one was just what we needed. Thanks to our host for the great communication!
The location was great. Nice quiet setting. Worked fine for our party of 8.The building was fine but is in need of some refreshing. The crankout windows need repair/replacement. The picture for the listing suggested you could swim off the dock. Really wasn't possible given the prevalence of low tide. Our primary issues were the small things. The grill was falling apart. It was replaced immediately after we pointed out it's condition. The propane tanks for the fire pit and grill were virtually empty. Ran out of fuel for both after two uses There were not adequate number of garbage bags or paper towel rolls. Should be a least 1 bag per day. We enjoyed our stay but at this price point we were expecting greater attention to the details.
Enjoyed the week at Tidewatch to getaway and celebrate a birthday week. Peaceful location, beautiful sunrises, wonderful area to kayak AND amazing deck. House with gorgeous views, comfortable/relaxed common spaces. Owners are thoughtful and very quick to respond to questions/inquiries.
