This cozy house on the canal was perfect respite for us. Good restaurants & entertainment nearby were easy to find. Loved the dinner theater shows & the exotic bird refuge park. We enjoyed our downtime away from snow & cold so much we booked for next year already!

It's a pleasure being your host and we're glad you loved the place. Looking forward to having you folks again next year. Thank you,
Rick and Adeliza
The cottage was comfortable and plenty big for the 2 of us. I brought a kayak for fishing and had a great time paddling down the canal, out into the mangroves and a small bay and even out into the Gulf. The location was convenient to shopping and eating out. If you are fishing there is a bait and tackle store right around the corner. Owners were very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed.
We loved the property! It was clean, well decorated, efficient supplies, & comfortable bed. The canal was a plus- beautiful setting,- peaceful & quiet and friendly neighbors. Our dog also was happy & felt at home. It was easy access to stores and restaurants. Owner communicated with us with any questions.
Will stay there again!
My husband and I stayed 1/1/23-2/3/23. Our first "snowbird" trip from Ohio. The house was bigger than I expected! I work from home, and the back room was ideal for my office space. We moved the table from the sunroom to the back room facing the harbor and I could work all day and look outside!
Pros:
- Well stocked. Plenty of toilet paper, paper towels, garbage bags, towels
- There's boogie boards, fishing poles, beach chairs (2),
- There's a blow up raft/boat with paddles
- Plenty of blankets and pillows
-There's even an air mattress in the supply closet
- There's a 2nd bathroom off the living room (if it was in the description, I didn't notice- was a nice bonus!)
- WIFI was great. I stream ALL day, wifi never missed a beat!
- Liza was easy to get ahold of, and very friendly!
- I had inquired before we went if there was a crockpot &/or pressure cooker- LIZA BOUGHT BOTH!!!
- The kind bed was comfy and the sheets were soft!
- Washer and dryer are inside and right off the sunroom!
- There's a propane grill and a charcoal grill
- Can sleep up to probably 7 (king bed, futon, sofa in sunroom, couch in living room with 2 recliners, and air mattress (didn't get air mattress out, so I don't know how big it was)
- The neighbors are AMAZiNG! We made life long friends.
Cons:
- We had to defrost the fridge/freezer 3 times. Initially I think it was because the door doesn't "seal" if you don't make sure it's shut. After the 1st time, we made sure to make sure it was fully shut. I /we think the seal might be bad. We lost some food due to defrosting, and the ice maker wouldn't make ice (we needed ice for our cooler of beer!)
-The dock was.. broken. It wasn't level. Still functional, but not level. We were told it would be fixed, but it wasn't. Hubby really upset about that. We were going to rent a boat, but decided against it, as we just didn't feel it was safe.
- Hubby and I stay in LOTS of rentals. I think the house could have been a bit cleaner to start out with. Just didn't appear that the counter (for example, behind the coffee maker) was wiped down/cleaned real well before our arrival.
- No basic cable- must bring your own Roku/Firestick
- The couch just isn't comfy
- Things that need updated: kitchen faucet (it doesn't reach well to the left side of the sink)
- The shower head in the main bathroom was SO strong it was offensive!
- Maybe add some games? Skipbo, yahtzee!?
Would we stay again? Probably. Overall 3-4 stars

I spoke with Natalie before they checked out and she made me aware of things that could be better. The dock repair man got heart issues and could not do the work plus the weather was not friendly, its on the process. So sorry for the refrigerator. I like the idea about board games. Thank you,
Rick and Adeliza
This little place is quite nice. Nicely furnished with most everything you would need for a comfortable stay. The private road needs some repair but it doesn’t detract from the house. The place is on a canal with opportunity for fishing. The owners are very friendly and if there are any issues they are quick to get them solved.
