Cabin Bascom - Walk to town, tankless hot water heater and new central HVAC!
Cabin Bascom - New openings, book now!
Located less than 1/2 mile to downtown Highlands, we invite you to experience our quaint retreat at the head of the Greenway Trail and steps away from the Bascom Arts Center.
This thoughtfully renovated 2 bedroom/2 bath cabin features a designer kitchen fitted with granite, walnut, and stainless steel. The open floor plan encourages great times with family, friends or that special someone.
A well appointed master suite is centered around an impressive double sided, tumbled marble fireplace... perfect for a cozy read in the five foot bay window, a relaxing jacuzzi bath, or a restful sleep on the king sized be...we say the most romantic suite in Highlands, despite the flat screen! The guest room wears red well with double bed, TV/DVD and is paired with its own bath containing a slate walk-in shower.
Hardwood floors and pickled spruce shiplap walls throughout, stacked stone fireplace and 48 inch flat panel TV in the living area. The vibe is light, open and airy yet the cabin is filled with eclectic furnishings and purposeful art.
While surrounded by all that the interior offers, you are beckoned outside to a peaceful playground. Sip your morning beverage at the cafe table on the deck while watching the birds and ever unfolding garden. Enjoy a Highlands afternoon or evening on the lower deck around the outdoor firepit.
Tear yourself away from Cabin Bascom and enjoy all the conveniently located world class amenities that the Highland area has to offer.

Great communication with the host! Very responsive and easy to get in touch with prior to our stay. The cabin is beautiful and has so many thoughtful and luxurious touches!
Cabin Bascom is such a lovely place to stay--close to town in a walkable neighborhood, beautifully furnished, roomy and comfortable. Highly recommended!
Location was great- not right in town but close enough we could have walked to town via trails near our VRBO. The cottage was cute, big enough for our needs and was everything we wanted!
We would definitely stay here again!
Perfect cabin in a great location! The cabin has everything needed for a comfortable stay. The hiking trial is right outside your door for a quick walk to town. We’ll be back!
The cabin is cute and in a great location. It is very easy to walk to town from there. The fireplaces are great especially the one in the bedroom. It would definitely benefit from a smart TV in the master bedroom. Also a mattress topper and some better pillows would go a long way. The only other thing is the cleaning company left us less than half of a roll of paper towels and each bathroom had 2 half rolls of toilet paper that are single ply. Other than those small things, everything was great.
My wife and I spent the long NYE weekend and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Property had everything we needed. Location was great! Pictures don’t do it justice.
Loved our stay at the Bascom Cabin. Great fireplaces. Very conftable. Conveniently located within easy walking distance to downtown Highlands. Grilled out several meals! Cut down on costs. Highly recommend cabin
Our favorite little cabin in Highlands is very comfortable and very close to downtown. It was a lovely time of year where we could enjoy the rides to different areas and enjoy the fall foliage.
We felt very comfortable and safe. The property is near town but isolated enough that you are not disturbed by all the hustle and bustle of town. Tv reception is not great but we spent very little time inside.
Perfect for us!
Great cozy spot for a couple- not sure we could fit 4, we needed the second bedroom for a dressing area- but a very good and affordable option for 2. Technically walkable to town, but we didn’t. Very accessible to walking trails and the arts center. Very nice kitchen and living area. Would recommend!
This cute cabin is tucked in the trees a few blocks off the main street. We enjoyed the quiet and peacefulness. I loved the big soaking tub and wished it was cool enough for the gas logs that separate the bedroom from the tub. I baked a cake while I was there and had everything I needed for measuring ingredients, etc. If I visit Highlands again, I would definitely try to get the same house.
Adorable little cabin is an 11 minute walk to Main St, in a quiet neighborhood. It included everything we needed, except toiletries (I always bring my own anyway so it was no problem). We were disappointed that a recent storm had knocked out the living room fireplace and TV and could not be restored during our stay. We loved the sound of the rain on the metal roof.
Cabin is ok. Needs some TLC..Pros- it’s close to a trail that leads to a really awesome creek/downtown, it is cozy and the floors are new, great location…HOWEVER, both beds in both bedrooms are broken, specifically the master bed frame, my husband looked under the bed and the frame was cracked, we kept wondering why the bed was sinking in the middle, and sounded as if it was coming apart when we would barely lay in it…even if the frame was fixed, the mattress itself is super old and very uncomfortable. The spare bedroom headboard wasnt screwed in and was leaning forward toward the bed…and the sliding doors don’t lock…instead, there are pieces of wood laid into the door frame, which didn’t make us feel super safe….i would want to stay here again as it was a very cool location, but unless I knew that the locks were fixed and the beds updated I don’t think we will be back
