About this property

Relax at the Stargazer, Farm Fresh Eggs Included!

Come stay at our property otherwise known as the Stargazer Burnsville. We are conveniently located between Burnsville, NC and Spruce Pine, NC only 7/10 mile off of HWY 19E, but still in a quiet neighborhood. There is ample parking space for multiple vehicles and our gravel driveway is regularly maintained and does not require 4WD to access. Our name was inspired by the fact that we are only 2.5 miles from the largest telescope in Southeast US dedicated to public use known as the Bare Dark Sky Observatory. Our home is fully stocked with everything you need and tons of extras for our guest to enjoy. All mattresses and linens are brand new for your comfort. We clean our rental ourselves so we know that it is sanitary and any issues between guest are quickly addressed. All bedrooms are equipped with a Smart TV and our Wi-Fi speed is 62 Mbps for all your streaming needs. We include a dozen of farm fresh eggs for every stay as long as our chickens are laying!

For stays longer than 14 days trash pickup is not provided. Renter will need to haul off their own trash to the nearest recycling center located just a short 2 miles from the rental property. Trash pickup is not offered in our rural area so we haul off any trash for guest of 14 days or less.

Nice place to stay and was very very clean. Easy to get to as well
Just a couple of comments. The room deodorizers were much too strong, especially where people that might have allergies. Would also suggest that you put handrails on stairs going up onto the porch and then from the porch up to the front door for the older generation. In the bedroom with the bunk beds I felt the ladder was unsafe. I would suggest not using bunk beds at all. Two twin beds in an l-shape would fit fine in the room. I am sure this is something that is out of your control but on two different days dogs came up on the porch to the house. I am afraid of dogs and was surprised they were running loose. But I know that can't be helped by you. Overall, the home was lovely and was extremely clean . Everything you could think of was there. It was a lovely stay overall. And the view is very pretty. Thank you so much!

Very nice property, some drawbacks
The house was very nice, well equipped and spotlessly clean. The host, Heather was very nice and helpful. We went to play golf and found an excellent course, Mount Mitchell Golf Club, just 20 minutes from the house. We recommend it highly. We found two drawbacks that were significant to us. There were 10 - 12 power interruptions while we were there. Most were less than a minute but one was for 3 hours. The wifi also went out for about 20 hours at one point. The short power glitches might not be a problem for most people but my wife and I both use CEPAP machines which cut off if the power is out for even a couple seconds. One night the power dropped at 1 am, 1:40 and 5:00. So we woke up 3 times that night. The other downer was lack of any good restaurants nearby. There are lots in Asheville but that’s a 45 minute drive. None of this is Heather’s fault, of course, but it was a problem for us.

It was a great place. Clean.
Nice place for a family getaway. Quiet area. Not to far of a drive to attractions. Burnsville is a cut small town. Fresh eggs upon arrival. We did run out of toilet paper during our stay and went and bought some other than that the place was great .

Wife & Mother of two beautiful girls, I love to enjoy the beautiful nature of the place we call home and am happy to be able to share that with others.

Why they chose this property

This was our starter home and we were lucky enough to remodel it and turn it into a vacation rental after we purchased our forever home.

What makes this property unique

We are nestled in between two beautiful small towns with lots of local attractions available for you to enjoy during your stay. Everything from hiking trails off of the gorgeous Blue Ridge Parkway to exploring the night sky at the Bare Dark Sky Observatory.
