The only thing I can complain about is that there was no sandy beach like the picture had posted and my kids were really looking forward to using the swim platform that was in the picture as well and that was not available to use. Overall house was nicely decorated and the lake was beautiful! the kids had a lot of fun catching fish minus all the goose poop.

Hello Leigha;
The lack of sand at the waters edge is due to the EXTREME storms we’ve experienced this year changing the landscape… it’s not practical to visit once a week to update property pictures including amount of sand? Our pictures include not just OUR property but several views of the beautiful lake & its landscape. As far as the wildlife visiting, that’s unfortunate they left some droppings. It saddens me that your review is focused on nature that’s out of our control. However thankfully your vacation was a huge success:)
Such a cute little place to stay and unwind! The kids loved to play in the lake and it was close enough to Tawas that we spent some time there a couple days!

This is an adorable cottage on a really nice lake where the fishing was amazing! It was very clean and comfortable, and the lake was remarkably quiet for Labor Day Weekend!! We paddle boated around and caught lake trout all day, all weekend long. I highly recommend this rental and the owners are genuinely delightful.

This cottage was beautifully set on Bass Lake in a very quiet and peaceful setting. Even though the weather was a bit chilly for June, my 10 year old son loved swimming in the lake and I enjoyed the sun on the beach. Very close to downtown Tawas and all the fun the area has to offer. We will definitely be back! Thanks for having us 😊

Communication with the owner was excellent. Check in and check out were easy. The property is very well kept, clean and fully stocked with amenities. The private beach was perfect. Great size deck and sun room. We rented kayaks which came with life vests and really employed them. The area was very peaceful and beautiful. It is also close to Tawas, where we enjoyed the quaint downtown area with shopping and restaurants. We really enjoyed our stay!

Hello Kara… Again, Thank you for choosing The Nash Cottage on Bass Lake for your vacation… we are so happy that you enjoyed our cottage and property! We are still growing and gaining knowledge of what our guests will be thrilled with😎!
Everything was just perfect for our stay. We enjoyed every moment of our stay. The cottage was cozy and done up to a T. The property was well cared for and the pictures do not do it just. The beach area was clean and the best place for star gazing. We enjoyed having a bonfire in a safe and picturesque setting. The deck off the back of the cottage was the best spot to enjoy the morning coffee and the views of the lake. You won’t be disappointed in this place:)

Hello Rachael… We’d love to invite you back in the near future to host you again:) Please let us know is you’ll be in the area this summer !!
The property was in excellent condition. Clean and welcoming. Many items available for use - cooking utensils, dishware, etc. The host was very accommodating and available during our stay. The only recommendation I would make is maybe a full size fridge. We only stayed two nights, so it was adequate for us, but if we were staying a full week, it would be difficult to fit a week's worth of food in there.

Hello Jenny; Thank you for rating us and your kind words… We love hosting our cottage and strive to keep up with clients needs. Our refrigerator is on the vintage side; to keep w/ the 1955 theme of the original year, yet large enough for a family. We hope to host you again in the future:)
Sincerely;

We had three adults and it was tight. Nice location except for the neighbors dogs barking 24/7. Fine stay but the rules and lists provided by the host made us feel like we were walking on eggshells the whole weekend. I’ve never had so much paperwork, documentation and questioning needed from a host and we’ve stayed at multiple much nicer locations.

Hello Savanna;
We’re extremely surprised & saddened to read your review; as we take extreme pride in our ability to make guests comfortable with their stay at our property. Each guest; after booking is emailed a Rental Agreement to sign and return. Also our property description & pictures show how comfortable and convenient it is for a small family:)
We do wish that you would have text or phoned us regarding any excessive noise, as we could have reached out to them. We had dozens of guests & incredibly warm reviews; so sorry.
My husband and I spent 3 nights at Nash Cottage in July 2022. This trip far exceeded our expectations. Shari was a wonderful host. The cottage was clean and well appointed with just about everything we needed. The beach and fire pit made for relaxing afternoons and evenings. Shari even had our first fire all set up and ready for us to light upon arrival! We felt very comfortable our entire stay. The lake is small and quiet, and all neighbors seemed respectful of one another. This would be perfect for a couple, small family or small group of friends.

Please consider staying w/us again in the near future… and we will get that first fire 🔥 ready again:)

This quaint, cozy cottage has a great location on a small lake. The place was spotless and showed several renovations, including a new back deck and what seemed like new mattresses and sun porch sofas. It is small, with one queen bed and a bunk bed in the other bedroom. The kitchen is quite small. And you have to go into Tawas, the closest town, for restaurants, if you don't want to cook. But the lake is clean, the beach sandy and the old-school cabin is comfortable.

About the host
Hosted by Shari Miller
Growing up; our family spent every summer in northern Michigan; biking, swimming, fishing & exploring many destinations. Being a host for families just beginning to explore this beautiful area, has been such a joy:)
Why they chose this property
From the minute you arrive at The Nash Cottage, the feeling is of a warm-hug… waking up & watching the sun ☀️ rise over the lake, the sound of The Loons, while enjoying your first cup of coffee ☕️ & planning out your day:)
What makes this property unique
The privacy of the neighborhood; while many are year rounders…is peaceful. No other properties in the area, offer over 100 ft. of waterfront fun; on just under acre of trees and a manicured lawn.
